Pumpkin Nights vs. Dodgers Baseball. That was my choice last night. Do I go with the family to see a festival of lights made from carved out pumpkins with various themes or do I stay home and watch Game 6? Well today they have a mechanism that allows you to record television shows, so you can watch them later. So, as you can see by the picture, I chose to
Sunday was an off-day in the Dodgers pursuit of a World Series championship. Among other things I took a few moments to see what I could remember from each of the Dodgers 12 appearances in the World Series during my time as a Dodger fanatic. For some I don’t recall much, but for all I have a moment or two that I do. I became a Dodger fan on April
I used to own www.kershawshankredemption.com, and it may mean more to me than it does to you or not, but Game #5 was a real redemption for one Clayton Kershaw from his previous bad outing. He s now 9-8 with a 4.11 ERA in the postseason. IF he can keep that up, he can get his cumulative postseason ERA to below 4.00. This year, Clayton s playoff ERA is 2.50 with a
In a game that started so positively for the Dodgers, quickly morphed into what we have come to expect…a lot of strikeouts, inability to create runs, and questionable player changes during the game. But it was all a prelude to what may go down as the THE GAME to take the team to a WS Championship. I always like it when the leadoff hitter gets on base. After a
Never underestimate the power of focus. Conversely, never underestimate what happens when you lack focus. Case in point: Yasmani Grandal: For whatever reason, Grandal is at home with his wife (again) at least in his mind. Three passed balls, 2 errors. Strikeouts, can t advance runners. His head is somewhere else. There are no excuses you do or you don t do. I ll talk about what I think the Dodgers should
First baseman Jared Walker, currently playing with the Glendale Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League, was selected by the Dodgers in the fifth round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia. Although he had committed to Kennesaw State University in Georgia, he quickly signed with the Dodgers being the first player from that draft to sign on the dotted line. He
One day you’re the goat, and the next day you’re the GOAT. Okay maybe not GOAT, but certainly greatest hitter on that day. After going 0-5 with 4 strikeouts and an error in Game 1, Justin Turner goes 2-4 and hits a go-ahead 2 run HR in Game 2. With CT3 on 1st base after an infield single, Justin Turner hit a 2-0 splitter that stayed up over the middle
In a game where the two best hitters struck out 7 out of 10 plate appearances, this was a very hard game to watch much less write about. Unfortunately for the good guys, JT s strikeouts were much more problematic than Christian Yelich s. The Blue put up a good fight late, but Game 1 goes to Craig Counsell in his chess match against Dave Roberts. It appears that Counsell played Roberts
Today s the day we have been waiting for. It seems like forever. It seems like 30 years to me But, today the Dodgers statrt the final leg of the journey to the World Series. Did I mention that 30 years was enough already? We have had so much analysis that we now feel paralysis. I m ready to wach the games. I m ready to see what the roster is. I ll keep
With the Yankees being TKO ed by the Red Sox, the slate is set. The Red Sox play the Astros while the Dodgers play the Brewers. Many Dodger fans didn t think the Dodgers would be one of the last four teams standing . but here they are! Think about this: The Dodgers are one of the TOP FOUR TEAMS IN BASEBALL! I think that the Dodgers will be one of the last
The Arizona Fall League began play yesterday. The league was founded back in 1992 as a way to give young minor league players a way to extend their season without playing in winter ball or traveling long distances. It is often described as a “finishing school” giving a bevy of young players not only an opportunity to extend their seasons but compete against elite players and continue to work on the
For six straight years, the Dodgers have been NL West Champs. For three straight years they have won the NLDS and headed to the NLCS. From this point on, it s really World Series or Bust, but this 2018 version of these Milwaukee Brewers are tough and opportunistic. While we are at it, let s no forget that the Atlanta Braves, even though they just burst upon the scene, they were pretty
