OKC entered the year as a much less heralded affiliate than Tulsa and Great Lakes. The Comets did start the year with 7 top 30 prospects, but not one position…

Late Thursday night, Dodgers fans finally learned who their opponent in the NLDS would be…the Atlanta Braves. Game 1 is Saturday at 1:00 PM. The temperature at…

I have consistently stated it is difficult to gauge the development of prospects without reaching AA. Tulsa was chock-full of potential MLB players. Tulsa…

OKC Comets 5 - Las Vegas Aviators (A’s) 2 After a scoreless 1st inning, the Comets broke through in the 2nd. CF Alek Thomas hit a 1-out single and scored on a…

In my opinion, Baseball America is the premier publication for identifying the best prospect performances over the season. Annually they produce an overall…

Great Lakes had a fantastic season. They won the 2nd half of the Midwest League East Division Championship and met Dayton Dragons (Reds) in the Playoffs. Great…

There was good news and bad news with the Dodgers MiB Affiliates. All four affiliates made the post season, but their combined record for Ontario, Great Lakes,…

As Mark reminded us earlier this week, RP is not predictable. And it isn’t just year to year, but also game to game. I was thinking, what would I do? As if my…

OKC Comets 8 – Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Houston) 0 RHSP Landon Knack and 4 relievers shut out the Space Cowboys, giving OKC their 12th consecutive win. They…

Hello, I am Mark! This is Jeff's post, but you know I was going to weigh in after several commenters informed me how the Dodgers were not going to call up…

OKC Comets 5 – Round Rock Express (Texas) 3 LHSP Jackson Ferris had another good start. He went 5.1 IP, allowing 2 hits, 2 BB, and 7 K. However, one of those…

OKC Comets 7 – Round Rock Express (Texas) 3 – 11 innings OKC got on the board 1st in the 2nd inning. C Eliézer Alfonzo walked to open the inning. After a K, 3B…

OKC Comets 7 – Round Rock Express (Texas) 4 The Comets are still looking to make a statement in their fledgling playoff chances. RHSP Christian Romero was the…

I have to chuckle. When things go bad it is Thomas, Feduccia and Rortvedt that should shoulder the blame. The Dodgers offense and depth is supposed to be able…

James Tibbs III was player of the night for the affiliates (pictured) Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Houston) 4 - OKC Comets 3 – 10 innings This was not a great…

As bad as the Dodgers are playing right now (before Monday), they are still in the Divisional driver’s seat. They now have an 8.0 game lead over San Diego with…

Jeff did the MiLB Report, which follows... This is Mark. They say good things come to those who wait... Wait! Who says that? Well, we waited for seven games…

OKC Comets 11 – Salt Lake City Bees (LAA) 5 OKC put up 11 over the first 3 innings. In the 1st CF Zach Ehrhard drew a 1-out BB. Ehrhard moved to 3rd on LF Ryan…

OKC Comets 6 – Salt Lake City Bees (LAA) 3 RHSP Gavin Stone was pitching in his 1st game since August 31, 2024. He struck out the 1st batter he faced and got a…

The Dodgers must have figured that getting Tarik Skubal put them in the WS. Many fans felt so. The Dodgers optioned Emmet Sheehan and certainly knew that was…

Okay, I was partially wrong. I did say that it would depend on who Detroit insisted on in return for LHSP Tarik Skubal, but I never thought that AF/BG would do…

OK...Humor me. I know it is like a broken record on Tarik Skubal, but he is the question everyone is looking for an answer for. Where do you draw the line on…

Some promotions today: · LHSP Zach Root to Tulsa · CF Jaron Elkins to Great Lakes · RHP Joel Cruz to Ontario · C Abel Lorenzo to Ontario Las Vegas Aviators…

The Dodgers have the only legit 6-man rotation in MLB. Other teams try to add a 6th, but most often the 6th is a bullpen game. Quite often the 5th is also a…

Sacramento River Cats 11 – OKC Comets 0 This was a forgettable game. The Comets committed more errors (2) than hits (1). LHSP Cole Irvin and RHRP Jonathan…

Sacramento River Cats (Giants) 4 – OKC Comets 2 The AAA affiliate of the Dodgers is running out of SP. This was game 3 of a 6 game series, and it was a full…

Last Friday, LA Times Columnist Bill Plaschke opined as to why the Dodgers NEED to trade for Tarik Skubal. There was a lot of discussion on that, but I was out…

3 picks were High School players (2 SS and 1 OF). There was a college OF, college catcher, college SS, and 10 college pitchers. Of all the talk for a need for a catcher, the only catcher the Dodgers selected was Luke Bard, son of LAD bullpen coach Josh Bard. Bard was a 4th year senior from Houston Christian University. He is not a prospect, so the Dodgers are still…

Draft day is near (Saturday). Will the Dodgers get a difference maker at pick #40? Maybe, maybe not. Dalton Rushing is a difference maker and he was picked as the LAD #1 at #40. LHSP Zach Root (#40) looks like a strong potential difference maker as does Charles Davalan (#41). But their strategy is so muddled because of their lack of a bonus pool. It is not that there will…

OKC Comets 9 – El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego) 2 In the 1st inning, OKC jumped out to the lead with a one out HR (3) from CF Alek Thomas. OKC picked up two more runs in the 2nd. 2B Ryan Fitzgerald singled and with one out stole 2B and went to 3rd on a ground out. DH Zach Ehrhard hit a 2-run inside the park HR to make it…
