There is No Reason to be Upset!

May 27, 2021

Well, the Dodgers lost last night – for the first time in 10 games – and of course, someone must be blamed. “Dave Roberts should have never started Trevor Bauer” is a theme that seems popular today. Second-guessers are never wrong! However, I guarantee the decision to start Bauer was done by “committee.” The Dodgers front office sends Dave Roberts all types of data about everything related to the game…

Pantone 294 in Houston?

May 24, 2021

Tuesday, the Dodgers return to the scene of the crime, as they take on the Houston ASStericks in Trash Can Banging Stadium. Clayton Kershaw goes against hired mercenary, Zack Greinke. I hope they beat him like a rented mule. This should be retribution. If there is baseball justice, all the ASStericks will collide behind 2B on a popup and have to be taken to a local hospital or funeral homes….

Stop the Corey Seager Bashing!

May 9, 2021

We all have perfect 20/20 hindsight, but lest we forget, bullpens are not only built in the offseason but they are built during the season. To say that the bullpen almost blew the game last night would make you Mr. Obvious. Even Ray Charles can see that. The Dodgers are just going to have to suck it up for a few more days or weeks until pitchers and Bellinger become healthy. Oh, he might make a signing or two – Shane Greene comes to mind, but I would not expect anything major until at least July. This is not panic time – they are only 128 games left!

This is the Worst Team in the History of Baseball!

May 2, 2021

In case, I have to explain it (and I am sure I will), that is sarcasm. Actually, the 1899 Cleveland Spiders own the worst single-season record of all time (minimum 120 games) and for all eras, finishing at 20–134. This didn’t happen much last season, but it has happened with regularity the previous five or six seasons. What didn’t happen in 2020 was that the Dodgers really never had a losing streak…

Who are these guys anyway?

May 1, 2021

The Dodgers end April with a 16-11 record which is merely “OK”. The fact that they had a 13-2 start followed by a 3-9 stretch is what really bothers everyone. Fans are upset, but I guarantee you that the players are really pissed! During that 12 game stretch, the Dodgers are averaging 3.25 runs per game, after putting up an average of 5.8 runs a game in that 13-2 stretch!…

Does Anyone Here Know How to Build Bullpen?

April 8, 2021

I’ll answer that with one word: NO! No one here has ever built a major league bullpen. I have not built one either. However, I have seen them built many times, and I believe Andrew Friedman knows how to do it. Feel free to believe that Dave Roberts just blew the game yesterday. If you believe it, it must be true, right? I mean, he brought Kenley Jansen in for…

2021 – Gavin Lux Starts Over

February 21, 2021

It was Thursday, June 9, 2016.  What a great birthday present for me, Day 1 of the MLB Rule 4 (First Year Player) Draft.  Everything I was reading indicated that the Dodgers were leaning towards a HS shortstop as their #1 draft pick.  They had two other first rounders that they could spend on college picks (and did: Will Smith and Jordan Sheffield).  But the thought of grabbing a HS…

Today is the day that pitchers and catchers are due to report to Camelback Ranch for the Dodgers.  Tomorrow is the first day of workouts.  Full squad reports February 22, with the first full squad workout scheduled for February 23.   The Dodgers play their first spring training game on Sunday, February 28 against the Oakland A’s at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona. There will be some rules in effect that…

2021-2025 Payroll Projections (In Progress For Friday)

January 22, 2021

In a November 15, 2015 article authored by Matthew Moreno at dodgerblue.com, Andrew Friedman and Dodgers president and CEO Stan Kasten maintained that the extravagant spending for the Dodgers would not continue, and that the 2016 season would provide a small opportunity to make progress toward balancing the scale. According to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times, Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly recently echoed a similar sentiment, going so far as to…
