Just three short years ago, Diego Cartaya was the top prospect for the Los Angeles Dodgers and had a bright future as a Catcher. I did an interview with Cartaya, and he seemed like a great guy (I can’t find the video right now). Here was Baseball America’s Scouting Report on…
On the Dodgers last road trip, they first went to Colorado, a team with the worst record in the majors. They got a stellar starting performance from Tyler Glasnow who went 7 innings and allowed just one run on two hits and two walked. Dreyer then came in and pitched two innings…
Tacoma Rainiers (Seattle) 3 – OKC Comets 2 LHSP Cole Irvin started for OKC. He allowed a HR in the 1 st , and a another in the 4 th . Overall, Irvin pitched well enough to win in the PCL. Just the two runs on 5 hits and 3 BB. He did strike out one. But he left trailing 2-0 after…
I always pick a player from a draft and he immediately becomes a favorite. In 2019, I was more of an advocate for Michael Busch than Kody Hoese. But he was too high in the draft. Rarely do I choose a top pick in the draft. Some of my friends were surprised it was not the 6’6”…
There has been a lot of conversation recently about who should hit leadoff for the Dodgers. Shohei Ohtani has been the leadoff hitter in nearly every game he has played for the Dodgers in 2024 and 2025, and it remains the same this year. Oh, and I should mention that with Ohtani…
It seems like every season lately the media talks about the depth of the Dodger organization. It also seems like every season that depth is tested. The beginning of this season seems to be no exception. The depth of the starting rotation is already under scrutiny because of the…
I got to thinking about this earlier today when I was watching an old Miller beer commercial on Facebook. The player in the commercial was none other than “The Penguin”, Ron Cey. Back when I first began following the game, there were so many players with nicknames. Some were…
Apparently the Dodgers need 6 Aces to succeed. Although they have won back to back WS without that luxury. The season is 22 games in, and fans are not happy because Emmet Sheehan (26) is still rounding into form after a very slow start to Spring Training. Every start has…
It’s early, and the Rockies have no chance at even getting to 10 games below .500 this year, so the Dodgers are their shot at fame. That’s a thing… but also the Los Angeles Dodgers have some arm issues. Roki Sazaki can’t throw strikes, and his velocity is about 5 MPH off his top…
Albuquerque Isotopes (Rockies) 8 – OKC Comets 6 It is not easy pitching in Albuquerque, but LHSP Jackson Ferris was able to minimize the damage with all sorts of traffic over 4.0 innings. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, 5 BB, and 2 Ks. RHRP Garrett McDaniels pitched well in his 2.0…
With a game time temperature of 35 degrees, and a field that was covered in snow before, the game the Dodgers dominated the Rockies in an 7-1 victory. It took 5 hours to clear the snow. https://twitter.com/DodgersNation/status/2045239370832339207?s=20…
Over the years several players could be counted on to be in the lineup on opening day. In my last post, I chronicled the foursome of Garvey, Lopes, Cey and Russell. The infield that was together longer than any other foursome in MLB history. In this post, we will look at the…
