NOTE: Cancel culture (or call-out culture) is a modern form of ostracism in which someone is thrust out of social or professional circles – whether it be online, on social media, or in person. Those who are subject to this ostracism are said to have been canceled . MLB effectively canceled the State of Georgia by moving the Baseball All-Star Game out of Atlanta to another venue, simply because the State
It was an ugly game. Kershaw was bad (as he frequently is in Coors). His curveball had no bite. I am not worried about 91 MPH in the first game. But 91, without his curve, is an issue. Even Ray Charles can see that. This loss had nothing to do with Dave Roberts he did not play an inning or have an at-bat.
By the way, if it’s any consolation to those of you who are worried, Clayton Kershaw gave up 15 runs in 14 2/3 innings in spring training of 2014. Fans were wringing their hands. He then went out and won the MVP.
Kersh takes the mound for his 9th opening day assignment. Frankly, I wish he wasn t the guy. Although he has a winning record at Coors at 11-5. His ERA there is 4.44. He has allowed 19 HR s in 23 games. 139 hits, and 36 walks in 140 innings. Not great numbers. His WHIP at Coors is 1.250. The Rocks only hit .203 against him there, but they get the most out of their hits.
Clayton Kershaw starts on Opening Day, followed by Trevor Bauer, Striker (never call him Walker) Buehler, Julio Urias and [DRUM ROLL] Dustin May! To those of you who worried his season would be wasted on the bench: Don t Worry! He is in the rotation and Tony Gonsolin and David Price are in the bullpen. With Jimmy Nelson in the bullpen as well, the Dodgers can save the backend of the
1959, start of the season A young 11-year-old boy reads about his heroes in the daily sports page. A right of passage in those days. Games on TV were few and far between, especially Dodger games. The only televised games were those from San Francisco on KKTV channel 11. Vin Scully and Jerry Doggett did the announcing. Doggett would do the 3rd and 7th innings, Vinny the rest .
On the one hand, his fans, teammates, and organizations love him for the offense he brings to the table. On the other hand, all are often driven to despair by his antics and shoddy attitude. Not to mention his greed and stupidity.
MLB Players are adrenaline junkies. That s what made last year so difficult at times. Professionals feed off the crowd energy and the adrenaline the human body produces in such situations is a key performance factor. I can t wait for the crowds to return.
I have heard and read a lot of Dodger fans ask why the Dodgers have not signed Corey Seager. After all, it s so simple, right? Just sign him hand him a blank check and let him take it from there. Easy Peasy! There you go just get it done! So, why is it not yet done? The simple answer is that the price is unknown and most likely, too
The winter of 2010 brought some more changes to the Dodgers. Joe Torre retired from managing and Don Mattingly took over. The other main point was the now very public and hostile divorce proceedings between McCourt and his wife. So things were off to a rocky start. Colletti though had to put together a team and there were a lot of players who were free agents. He re-signed Kuroda
With eight more days left in Spring Training, all thirteen (13) of the position players are set (barring injury). There is nothing left to decide. Here s the list: Will Smith Max Muncy Gavin Lux Corey Seager Justin Turner AJ Pollock Cody Bellinger Mookie Betts Chris Taylor Austin Barnes Edwin Rios Zach McKinstry Matt Beaty Noisy and Peters may be back in the heat of summer when a fan (I mean
Spring Training stats can be so deceiving: Last week Garrett Cleavinger was the flavor of the week, an almost certain lock to make the team. Sunday, maybe not so much. Last week, it appeared that Dennis Santana had pitched his way off the opening roster. Sunday, he sort of, kind of, maybe, redeemed himself. But then again, “it’s spring and the statistics don t matter!”
