The Dodgers Bullpen moved from #7 to #6 in bullpen ERA among all MLB teams. If this doesn t impress you, then you are unimpressionable. A few short weeks ago, they were #18! Right now, their bullpen ERA is 3.53, but they started the climb when it was 4.47. In my opinion, the TOP BULLPENS have ERA s below 3.00 and right about now, here are the TOP Bullpen ERA s: #1
The Dodgers have amazing depth in their system, both at the major league level and the minor league level, so it leaves me a little puzzled when I hear fans berate the depth or lack thereof. Of course, those who do not believe in the depth are also puzzled when I say the depth is amazing. What s the disconnect? Why did the Dodgers bring in players like Albert Pujols and
What does Albert Pujols bring to the table? How about just poking the ball through the hole at SS to score Mookie from 3B. That play was better than a thousand words. When you have a chance to score the runner from 3B, you do it. Forget the long ball. Take notes, kids! This is what HOF ers do!
I have only two problems with Rob Manfred: (1) Everything he says; and (2) Everything he does! I hope Tony Clark comes to the bargaining table this offseason and says The MLBPA refuses to negotiate with the owners as long as Rob Manfred is Commissioner. He gets up and walks out! That would be the start of a very good day!
When the news came out that Albert Pujols was a free agent, I immediately wondered if Andrew Friedman would consider signing him, but then I heard that he was insisting upon a starting position, I immediately dismissed it. There was no way Albert would start for the Dodgers except maybe a spot start or two and as a DH when the Dodgers play in AL parks. Well, evidently, he could
The Dodgers couldn t jump out of a boat and hit water? The Dodgers were 4-13? You all wanted to get rid of Kenley Jansen? Most of you wanted to get rid of Muncy? Gavin Lux had that scared deer-in-the headlights look? Me either! Clayton was very good except for the 3-run HR, and the offense did it s job. Now, it is just Hurry up and wait for Bellinger, McKinstry, Price,
Since I had COVID in October, my doctor advised me to wait until May to get it due to the fact it can have a deleterious effect if you get the shot when you still have a high amount of antibodies in your system. So, I waited until Tuesday to get my first shot (Moderna). It was almost 7 months and we felt that it should be fine. In fact,
Maybe Monday s comeback win and Kenley Jansen s dominant save was what the Dodgers needed to turn around their sinking ship. Last night, the Dodgers won 7-1 behind a dominant seven innings by Julio Urias and 6 up and 6 down by Jimmy Nelson, who is now taking to the bullpen like a fish takes to water. It s not going to be all fairy dust and ponies right away, but you
I am of the opinion that most of us know nothing about building a bullpen. Garret Cleavinger was a pitcher most of you wanted to go bye-bye. He has had up and downs, but I see his stuff plays up to major league hitters. Last night, he pitches a 1-2-3 inning in the eighth, including two strikeouts. He is learning to trust his stuff and that is how a bullpen
Let s get one thing straight: Andrew Friedman is the President and GM of the Los Angeles Dodgers. It is his responsibility to oversee anything that is connected with Baseball Operation. For the sake of this blog, Andrew Friedman is responsible for building the Dodgers Bullpen. To date, most Dodgers fans are saying that he built a deplorable bullpen. I have heard one fan say it was an average bullpen. They
Right-hander Logan Boyer was selected by the Dodgers in the 11th round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of San Diego State University. He was an interesting selection but fit the Dodgers pattern of trying to get what we might call a steal in the 11th round having signed the 10th rounder for a small signing bonus. He, in fact, signed for $297,500 which was $172,500 above the slot,
We all have perfect 20/20 hindsight, but lest we forget, bullpens are not only built in the offseason but they are built during the season. To say that the bullpen almost blew the game last night would make you Mr. Obvious. Even Ray Charles can see that. The Dodgers are just going to have to suck it up for a few more days or weeks until pitchers and Bellinger become healthy. Oh, he might make a signing or two Shane Greene comes to mind, but I would not expect anything major until at least July.
