If you don t laugh about it, you would probably cry, so I choose to laugh about the Dodgers woes. Some day, we will look back and say Remember when we thought they were done? During this 4-14 losing streak, the Dodgers have only have three problems: They can t pitch; They can t hit; and They can t field. Last night, the fielding was OK, so the only problems were that they could
Minor League Report JoJo Gray struck out 10 in 5 IP for OKC in his AAA debut, but he also gave up 2 Runs on just 3 hits in what was a pretty impressive AAA debut for a young player. James Pazos relieved him and gave up two more runs in 1 IP, as OKC was shutout 4-0. Raley, Reks, Ravelo, and Burns each had a hit. Amarillo paid Tulsa
Generally, LA Dodger Talk does not cover each game play-by-play at least during the regular season. The reason why is that after a few games you have no idea how a team will hit, field, pitch, or how bad or good the bullpen will be. Oh, many fans think they know, but it is just their own necrotic (hopefully not psychotic) thinking. I can t stop you from going insane after
Boy, is it ever time! It has been 604 days since the Great Lakes Loons have taken the field for a good old game of hard ball. They kicked off the 2021 season with a game at home against the Dayton Dragons. It was the first game of a six-game series as each series in the Midwest League will be for six games during the 2021 season. The Loons roster
Ernie Banks was a National Treasure and that was one of his favorite sayings. I can dig that. I would love to see both games, so hopefully I can close my office door at 2:20 PM EDT and watch the games.. and I may have a stash of bourbon to sip on. Well, I won t make it until 3:30 as I have my second of three knee injections which is
You can say that and you would be correct, but you would not be right. There is a whole lot more to it than it was a AAA pitcher. Failure causes doubt. Success breeds confidence. It doesn t matter whether it was a AAA pitcher or Cy Young, when a player or a team breaks out and scores runs. The fact that they broke out is the prime consideration. Confidence breeds
In case, I have to explain it (and I am sure I will), that is sarcasm. Actually, the 1899 Cleveland Spiders own the worst single-season record of all time (minimum 120 games) and for all eras, finishing at 20–134. This didn t happen much last season, but it has happened with regularity the previous five or six seasons. What didn t happen in 2020 was that the Dodgers really never had a losing streak
The Dodgers end April with a 16-11 record which is merely OK . The fact that they had a 13-2 start followed by a 3-9 stretch is what really bothers everyone. Fans are upset, but I guarantee you that the players are really pissed! During that 12 game stretch, the Dodgers are averaging 3.25 runs per game, after putting up an average of 5.8 runs a game in that 13-2 stretch!
Well I have been in California a little over a week. And the game is the same, but the view is much different. Lots of Dodger Blue here. Not so much Rockies Purple. Watching the games on Sportsnet LA is a lot different than watching them on MLB.TV. I get to watch the pre and post game shows. None of that on MLB, Lots of Dodger replays on that station,
Clayton Kershaw did not have his best stuff yesterday, but it was good enough to throw 7 shutout innings. I think he could have pitched another inning, but why wear him out. He threw a very efficient 90 pitches and his ERA now sits at 2.09. Those of you who wanted to anoint Walker Buehler the Ace will have to wait a while. Dodgers Starting Pitcher ERA WHIP: Clayton
If you all want to lose your minds have at it! I will not participate in the insanity! This is simply a prolonged slump and everything the Dodgers do right about now is wrong! It has not happened for a couple of years, but it s baseball where anything can (and will) happen. They somehow managed to score 5 runs on just 4 hits. Buehler struck out 10 and only walked one but gave up 5 runs. Go figure! They’re 2-7 in their last nine games and are 9-8 on the season against teams that aren’t the last-p
This is my 20th year in blogging. I registered LA DodgerTalk.com in January 2006, so this has been a thing for 15 years! There has been a theme EVERY YEAR with Dodger fans since I started and that is that when things start to get rough and things do inevitably get rough at times, many simply take leave of their senses. After a torrid start, the Dodgers are 4-6 in
