Bellingerized!

June 14, 2017

Ladies and Gentlemen, you are witnessing history! Cody Bellinger is one of those  rare talents who come around to a team, once in a lifetime.  The thing is, the Dodgers have three of those talents… maybe four.  Some of you are going to say “Yeah, but his batting average is only .261.”  Yeah, and your momma wears army boots! This kid is the real deal, just like Clayton, Corey and…

Dodgers Activated Joc and A-Gon Goes to the Doc

June 13, 2017

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated outfielder Joc Pederson from the seven-day concussion disabled list and placed first baseman Adrián González on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to June 12) with lower back discomfort. Pederson, who missed 16 games due to a concussion, made three rehab appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City, going 3-for-9 (.333) with two home runs and four RBI. In 35 games with Los Angeles…

Let’s Build a New Building To House All the Rumors

June 9, 2017

As usual, we fans probably don’t have a clue what the Dodgers are up to.  Just because we hear rumors from the media, doesn’t make them true. Rumors are just that, and if you expect a straight answer from FAZ about who they are interested in, you are likely smoking something that may be illegal in certain states. I have targeted Marcell Ozuna as a player I want, while we…

The Silver Lining

June 6, 2017

It was a loss and losses always stink, and while Ryu didn’t have his A-Game, there was certainly a silver lining to it. Number one, Ryu hit 94 MPH on the gun – that’s a huge thing; and Number Two, he went 7 innings.  To me, that is also as huge.  He also did not walk a batter.  That’s pretty big too.  Oh, by the way, this was against the…

Doc Can’t Play Joc

June 4, 2017

If there ever was any doubt, Chris Taylor erased it yesterday by doing the kind of thing that legends do:  Hitting  a Grand Slam in the 9th inning, with your team down two runs, to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat!  Of course, it was a team effort to come back from a four run deficit – Puig had two hits, but almost everyone (except Grandal) contributed. Chris Taylor…

Blessing or Curse?

June 2, 2017

Complaints have been registered that the Dodgers have too many starters.  That’s like saying you have too much sushi, too much money or too much beer.  It simply does not compute. I don’t think that is even possible. The Dodgers used something like fifteen starters last year so it was assumed by many they would do about the same thing this year.  That also doesn’t seem likely.  I suppose it…

If You Ain’t The Lead Dog, The View Never Changes

May 31, 2017

Well, here the Dodgers are, back in first place with about 10 players on the DL!  As one national commentator said “The Dodgers have two rosters of players – they are that deep.” The FAZ-bashers continue to show their utter lack of comprehension as they try to nitpick roster moves (Olivera, Kemp, Schebler, Peraza, Cotton, Montas, Gordon, et al).  My simple advice to them is “Never miss a good opportunity…

These Are The Dodgers I Have Been Talking About

May 30, 2017

“Kike Hernandez is a huge waste of a roster spot.” “FAZ has no idea how to build a roster.” “I have no idea why they would sign Chase Utley – he’s finished.” “DFA Hatcher and Baez.” “Chris Taylor is organizational depth.  That’s all.” “Rich Hill has never been anything reliable.” “Brandon McCarthy is a waste of a roster space.” “Alex Wood? He’s horrible! “ “Julio Urias is over-rated.” “The league…

Gone Racing!

May 28, 2017

There’s this little race here in Indy today that I am going to, so you won’t hear much from me.  By the way, even if you don’t like racing, it should be on your “bucket list.” It has to be one of the Ten Wonders of the World.  I am not a big race fan – can’t tell you who is in the points lead or any of that, but on…

Loyalty Versus Change

May 26, 2017

Written by Bumsrap… Duke Snider.  Hall of Famer.  For many of us he was our favorite player back in our much younger days.  We still love him.  He was a star player on a very good team for many years.  He was certainly my favorite player by far.  He caught my attention as an 8 year old and stayed in my heart. But, as I have matured and evolved I…
