James Outman got a couple of hits, including a 3-run HR last night. As huge as Tyler Glasnows’ night was (7 IP/14 K’s/3 H/0 BB), the Dodgers needed James to get resurrected, and he is certainly trending in the right direction. This bodes well for the team, and now, if only someone could perform CPR on CT3! If he doesn’t wake up soon, they will have to give him “last rites!”

You have no idea how huge this is for James – An 800 lb. Gorilla just climbed off his back!

Louis Varland had some killer stuff… until he didn’t! If the Dodgers’ bottom-of-the-lineup comes to life, there will be no stopping these guys. Alex Vesia always gives up a run or two in a shutout game, and Conner Brogden looked like a guy who has a 24.000 ERA (because he is). I do not think the Dodgers brought Brogden over just to release him after one game. That would be silly. They will work with him for a while to see if they can “fix” him… and boy, does he need to be fixed! It’s a process… sometimes it works – sometimes it doesn’t!

The Dodgers now sit at 10-4 and play at 10:10 PT (1:10 EDT) on getaway day today! I will be driving back from Cleveland listening to the game. Friday, it’s the Friars at home. That will be fun.

  • OKC was washed out
  • At Tulsa, Rushing was 1-5 with 3 Ks, while Cartaya was 0-4 with 1 K.
  • Tulsa’s Kendall Williams went 4 Innings, allowing 1 run, but struck out 3 while walking 5.
  • Great Lakes was smoked 7-2 and the only bright spot was Kyle Nevin who was 3-4.
  • Rancho lost 6-4, as Kendall George walked 5 times. Yes, 5 Times! Hope added a double while Gelof was 2-5 with a triple. Wilman Diaz was 3-5.

While there will never be many Carlos Correa fans on a Dodgers’ fan site, today he showed the kind of arm the Dodgers should have on the left side of infield.

Tim Arango and Michael S. Schmidt of the New York Times reported late Wednesday that Mizuhara is in negotiations to plead guilty to federal crimes in connection with the purported theft of Ohtani’s money, and that Ohtani himself has been interviewed by the feds as part of the investigation.

Like most readers here, I’m thrilled that Mark brought back this site. I learn more about what’s going on with the Dodgers than anywhere else. We have the best team in the sport and without question the best front office. With that being said it is fun to play front office for a day. (1) Put Taylor on the DL and send him to Arizona. He needs a mental and emotional break and then work with a hitting guru (since I’m the boss, Nelson Cruz.) After discussing with my staff, we may put Kike on the same path. We haven’t given up on them by a long shot but we have two guys in OKC that we need to take a look at under the big lights (Vargas and Pages.). We need to look for bullpen help especially on the left side (who doesn’t?) Finally, I would have loved to see at spring training (We weren’t the front office then) Will Smith getting reps at third base. Putting him in a learning position during the season could play on ones mind and carry over to hitting. Thanks for letting me indulge my fantasy of being a GM for a day.

My goodness. Chris Taylor has to be the worst hitter in all of baseball. Absolutely lost up there at the plate! Time for an “injury” and bring up Vargas

Can anyone point me to where you can watch post-game Dave Roberts press availabilities?

Getting really sick of Vesia. Used to think he’d be really good. Not so much now.

  7. dodgerrickApril 10, 2024

Alex Vesia has made 7 game appearances now and given up runs in 5 of them.

I will get to watch part of the game today. Having lunch with an old friend of mine before I load up my truck for the trip home. Outman looks like he has toned down his swing some. At least Mookie did not have so many bad calls made on him in this game. Taylor looks totally out of sync. Brogdon got tagged because both of those pitches were COOKIES> but, he settled down and finished the game. Good hitters will crush pitches like that.

All the naysayers on this site who were worried that the Dodgers overpaid for Ohtoni, read the article on Dodgers Way”, Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani contract is already paying serious off-field dividends “By Katrina Stebbins .

What kind of moron throws Kendall George four balls?

Happy for James, that guy has some pop and his D in CF is getting better and better everyday.

Stick with CT3, he’ll be there when it counts….

Dodgers Food Trailer

I did this interview a couple of weeks ago with Chef Mike, who runs the Dodgers Food Trailer for the Great Lakes Loons. They are there for every home and road regular season and playoff game. They prepare three meals a day for approximately 50 people (players and coaches). Since games end late most evenings, they do not prepare breakfast. Many of their hotels have a complimentary breakfast anyway. However,…

Meet LAD 2026 Draft Picks 1-12

3 picks were High School players (2 SS and 1 OF). There was a college OF, college catcher, college SS, and 10 college pitchers. Of all the talk for a need for a catcher, the only catcher the Dodgers selected was Luke Bard, son of LAD bullpen coach Josh Bard. Bard was a 4th year senior from Houston Christian University. He is not a prospect, so the Dodgers are still…

Interview with Paul Beachy – Team Bus Driver For The Great Lakes Loons (LA Dodgers Minor League Team)

It’s been a few days since I did this interview. We have evidently been working my son-in-law (the video guy) like a rented mule at US Water Systems. However, I am taking him to London with me in a few days, so maybe Watford will buy him a pint as a tip, but he’s a dang Red Sox fan, so there is that! I thought that it would be interesting…

Thanks for Your Service: Chris Taylor

I was going to do this post when Chris announced he was retiring, then he changed his mind, but since the chances of him ever playing for the Dodgers again are slim and non-existent, I will go ahead with this post. He unretired, went on the IL, then decided to call it quits on May 24th. Taylor was born in Virginia Beach VA on August 29th, 1990. He attended Great…
