I know some of you thought I was mad because Miguel Vargas was optioned to AAA and that I skipped town, and if you thought that, well… you are truly a moron! I found out at about 3 PM that the site was down. I had a meeting with a patent lawyer from 2-3 PM to secure a new patent, and after the meeting, I tried to log in to the site and saw that it was down. So, I called my IT Manager and informed him. He came back to me at about 3:30 and said the bill had not been paid since March, but it was on a monthly billing to a valid credit card. At 4:14 he came back to me with this:

All paid up now.  They are having troubles getting the suspension lifted.  Also checking why our automatic payment is not working.

4:14 PM

So, I figured that it would be back up immediately. It wasn’t so, I called Technical Support for Nexcess (that’s who hosts the site) and they said there was really nothing they could do, so I read them the riot act and it was back up in 4 Minutes! All I basically said was that if it was not back up in 10 minutes, I would move all of our hosting to another platform. Money talks, and BS walks!

In Andrew Friedman, I Trust!

Some fans love to criticize Andrew Friedman, Dave Roberts, and the Dodgers front office because… well, maybe they have to compensate for something. I think their record speaks for itself, and while they are not perfect, they are pretty dang good, and their record is impeccable! So, trading for Cavan Biggio, demoting Vargas, and not calling up Lipcius while keeping CT3, Kike, and Lux are things I do not comprehend; I trust their judgment because they have a lot more information than we do. History will be the judge.

Move on! There is nothing to see here, folks. Play Ball!

A true Dodger. A true fighter. Such great news Quas. Hope Dodgers can give you a WS this October

Well friends, stopped in to announce I’m officially off of hospice now as my reevaluation has changed for the better. I’ve always been a stuborn sort and argumentative so I’ve taken the rare path and got out of the usual way. Or maybe it was the morphine and the growing grass keeping me alive. Wish it was good lovin but that’d be a lie. Been watchin the games and readin here but haven’t commented as just let the wind blow where it will. Just to make this about baseball……GO DODGERS

At the moment Buehler is a serciceable Nr. 4 or Nr. 5 starter on this team. Good enough for the regular season for sure but not in the playoffs. He just does not have the stuff to overpower opponents . Dont think he will get it back again. At least not this season.

I do not fault Pages to run threw the stop sign. It was a good gamble. Texans needed two perfect throws and a good tag at the plate to get him. I like the aggressiveness he showed. Against Yates who has been lights out all year I take that risk with a play at the plate any time. Especially with a weak hitter coming up.

    Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sometimes a hater but this might be the year of the favorite. Celtics are about to win, Niners might finally get theirs, and Dodgers need to seal the deal. Hopefully the Yankees don’t steal our fated spot.

  5. Duke Not SniderJune 13, 2024

Well, shoot…. A 9th inning rally ends on a play at the plate. Close but no cigar.

Will Pages get a talking-to about running through Ebel’s stop sign?

    Silver linings:

–Buehler pitched pretty well before one of the best hitters in the game, or old friend Corey, got to him.

–Heyward came through in the clutch on that last play.

    –Ohtani blasted another.

A mixed debut for Biggio , with a hit and an error.

I sure hope AF figures out what to do about Taylor….

Like how we battled back tonight, Paces made a rookie move getting hosed at the plate, but I like the reset team wise starting from the Yankee series, starting to find our identity, gettin some edge going. No one talks it about it , but not having Muncy in the lineup is huge, screw the average , he’s always a threat , plus lengthens the order, just get his ass healthy in the next month or so, the guy also adds attitude to the team, which we could big time use.

Don’t contribute much but check the content multiple times per day. Glad you were able to get the site up and running again.

Vargas is better off getting ABs in the minors. He has too much talent to sit on the bench.

The Biggio acquisition was a surprise to me. Is Dodger brass losing confidence in CT3, Kike and Lux? Or, is it simply a depth move? Interested in seeing what they can do with Biggio. Hoping for another Turner, Muncy rehab project.

  8. CassidyJune 13, 2024

That’s just not true. His throws have been very accurate for past 6 weeks

  9. CassidyJune 13, 2024

Oh he was having trouble throwing earlier this year when he first moved over to 2nd from ss.

  10. Jorge ValenzuelaJune 13, 2024

I think it’s more likely that Lux will be traded, and that’s why Biggio is there now.

  11. CassidyJune 13, 2024

What ever happened to Gavin Lux’s YIPS

  12. Jorge ValenzuelaJune 13, 2024

Vargas is not going anywhere, he is the LF next season

  13. tedraymond 2.0June 13, 2024

Hey Mark. I just checked to if the site was back up. I read your comment from your initial article from this morning.

I appreciate the welcome back. That was thoughtful of you.

    And, of course, carry on!

  14. BradleyJune 13, 2024

Wait could the dodgers have a killer bee infield if they have Biggio, Bichette, and Betts I think so until Muncy comes back and Keke goes back to the outfield and Rojas is the backup infielder now to just get rid of CT3. At trade deadline could dodgers add Kyle Tucker and promote Lupcicus send Ct3 down or somewhere send lux some where and outman or pages. Look at this lineup

    Betts2b

    Ohtani dh

    Freeman 1b

    Smith C

    Teo hernandez lf

    Tucker RF

    Heyward cf

    Bichette ss

    Biggio 3b

Talk about an upgrade in lineups yes improved your bench to Pages Rojas hernnandez Barnes Lipcius .

Manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Yamamoto’s next start will be pushed back from Thursday to Saturday against Kansas City, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

“The Dodgers have not announced a replacement starter for Yamamoto, but they will give the right-hander an extra few days to rest after he threw a season-high 106 pitches across seven scoreless innings during his last outing against the Yankees. The 25-year-old has put up a 2.50 ERA and 1.11 WHIP alongside a 22:5 K:BB across 18 innings over his last three starts”.

Good to see the site is back up and running. Thanks, Mark.

When I was growing up, Jerry West was the face of the Lakers. An incredible basketball player and a very successful front office executive.

Which brings me to AF. I imagine that the acquisition of Cavan Biggio is to platoon with Kike Hernandez at third base while Muncy is out. Can’t imagine he would be replacing Lux given Lux’s improvement at the plate and his defense at 2nd. They must see something in his swing that they think they can fix. A low risk fix to a temporary problem. Seems like Taylor will platoon with Heyward in the third outfield spot.

Best for Vargas to go back to AAA and get consistent at bats. Beginning to think the Dodger’s view him in the same way they viewed Busch – like the bat but no place they feel comfortable playing him.

#Dodgers Lineup vs Rangers RHP, Jon Gray:

    1.Betts SS

    2.Ohtani DH

    3.Freeman 1B

    4.Smith C

    5.Hernandez LF

    6.Lux 2B

    7.Pages CF

    8.Heyward RF

    9.Cavan Biggio 3B

    SP Walker Buehler

As predicted Biggio playing 3rd against a right handed pitcher and Vargas sent down

    Cool…

Didn’t realize the site was down….

    RIP Jerome Alan West…

Dodgers Food Trailer

I did this interview a couple of weeks ago with Chef Mike, who runs the Dodgers Food Trailer for the Great Lakes Loons. They are there for every home and road regular season and playoff game. They prepare three meals a day for approximately 50 people (players and coaches). Since games end late most evenings, they do not prepare breakfast. Many of their hotels have a complimentary breakfast anyway. However,…

Meet LAD 2026 Draft Picks 1-12

3 picks were High School players (2 SS and 1 OF). There was a college OF, college catcher, college SS, and 10 college pitchers. Of all the talk for a need for a catcher, the only catcher the Dodgers selected was Luke Bard, son of LAD bullpen coach Josh Bard. Bard was a 4th year senior from Houston Christian University. He is not a prospect, so the Dodgers are still…

Interview with Paul Beachy – Team Bus Driver For The Great Lakes Loons (LA Dodgers Minor League Team)

It’s been a few days since I did this interview. We have evidently been working my son-in-law (the video guy) like a rented mule at US Water Systems. However, I am taking him to London with me in a few days, so maybe Watford will buy him a pint as a tip, but he’s a dang Red Sox fan, so there is that! I thought that it would be interesting…

Thanks for Your Service: Chris Taylor

I was going to do this post when Chris announced he was retiring, then he changed his mind, but since the chances of him ever playing for the Dodgers again are slim and non-existent, I will go ahead with this post. He unretired, went on the IL, then decided to call it quits on May 24th. Taylor was born in Virginia Beach VA on August 29th, 1990. He attended Great…
