Happy Dodger Thanksgiving!

Traditionally, for over twenty (20) years, I have posted the photo below on Thanksgiving, so I am doing it again: Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. This year, only two of our five kids and four of our seven grandkids can make it, but this was last years feast: The Turkey was on the other counter.

Mark -Bournemouth is a lovely seaside town easily accessible from London by train (our trains are good!!).

That University is known particularly for media studies.

What do Reggie Jackson, Michael Jackson, and Teo Hernandez have in common?

    Wait for it

They all wear a glove for no apparent reason

    Happy Thanksgiving

    Happy Thanksgiving Mark!

On a day dedicated to gratitude I would be remiss if I didn’t take this opportunity to thank you for continuing to favor us with this incredible blog. As great a year as the Dodgers had, I don’t believe it would have been nearly as enjoyable for me without your contributions. Words are not enough, but . . .

    THANK YOU!

Make of this what you will:

Projection is when a person unconsciously takes something uncomfortable in themselves — guilt, insecurity, anger, selfishness, impatience, or a flaw — and assigns it to someone else.

Some of you might get what I am laying down. If not, don’t sweat it!

Been here a while now and finding this place both raised my enjoyment of following the Dodgers it also , being from London , has taught me so much about Baseball.

I’m onboard with whatever as I read and post a little at each site. The cut and thrust even if it gets a bit testy a times doesn’t bother me in the slightest, in fact I enjoy it.

    Hope you’re all enjoying Thanksgiving

I read both websites daily. Easily the top 2 places for me to get great Dodger information and insight. I sure hope it happens.

MLBTR did not mention LA as even a potential destination for Brendan Donovan. I believe that is a significant signal that LA has not kicked the tires on a trade for him. Arenado is not mentioned as a trade candidate for LA either, which is a switch, since he is almost always tied to LA as a trade piece.

Welcome Mr. Dominique. Please do join! We are a merry band of morons, and quite eclectic too. We have bears, and porpoises, and some famous guys too, one named Bluto was in Animal House. Another was in Hawaii Five-O but we think he might be losing it a bit cause he just keeps repeating his famous line from the show. Your work is well thought of and will be much enjoyed here. Thanks in advance for your future contributions. We have been blessed to have some excellent baseball minds contributing so you will fit right in.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hope you all have a great day.

I read and appreciate both blogs and they are the only ones I frequent. If Jeff decides to write here it would make a great blog even better.

In Andrew I trust! He will do what he thinks is best for our team. If he reads here to get our opinions, here’s mine.

    No on Tucker

Too long a contract we only need a bridge to our upcoming outfielders.

My choice would be to pay Cody what he wants for a 3 year deal.

Can’t wait to see what happens

    Winter meetings start soon.

Happy Thanksgiving from Panama!!! Huge weekend here as tomorrow is independence day. The amount of parades and fireworks here are second to none!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Mark, I gained weight just looking at that photo.

Jeff Dominique is considering shutting down his blog, and I have invited him to write here, but he is not sure he would be welcome.

    I think he would.

    I would certainly welcome him.

    What does everyone else say?

I know it’s OK with Bear!

Another year, another thanksgiving. Blessed to be alive and healthy. thank you all for your participation here at “old guys who love dodgers “ site! I have a lot to be thankful for, a wonderful family with 7 grandchildren. A lot of dear friends.,A baseball team that is on a mission. A great wife. And no matter what anyone says, we live in the greatest country in the world! Be ever grateful for everything that you have. Don’t be bitter about things that you don’t have. Enjoy each day and don’t be afraid to tell your loved ones how much you love them and need them. Be kind to someone who is different than you. It may come back to you later on when you need it. Kiss your grandkids every chance you get. give them something to remember you by. And lastly, just have a good day! we’re not guaranteed a tomorrow. But i sure hope i’m reading some good posts tomorrow!

Dodgers Food Trailer

I did this interview a couple of weeks ago with Chef Mike, who runs the Dodgers Food Trailer for the Great Lakes Loons. They are there for every home and road regular season and playoff game. They prepare three meals a day for approximately 50 people (players and coaches). Since games end late most evenings, they do not prepare breakfast. Many of their hotels have a complimentary breakfast anyway. However,…

Meet LAD 2026 Draft Picks 1-12

3 picks were High School players (2 SS and 1 OF). There was a college OF, college catcher, college SS, and 10 college pitchers. Of all the talk for a need for a catcher, the only catcher the Dodgers selected was Luke Bard, son of LAD bullpen coach Josh Bard. Bard was a 4th year senior from Houston Christian University. He is not a prospect, so the Dodgers are still…

Interview with Paul Beachy – Team Bus Driver For The Great Lakes Loons (LA Dodgers Minor League Team)

It’s been a few days since I did this interview. We have evidently been working my son-in-law (the video guy) like a rented mule at US Water Systems. However, I am taking him to London with me in a few days, so maybe Watford will buy him a pint as a tip, but he’s a dang Red Sox fan, so there is that! I thought that it would be interesting…

Thanks for Your Service: Chris Taylor

I was going to do this post when Chris announced he was retiring, then he changed his mind, but since the chances of him ever playing for the Dodgers again are slim and non-existent, I will go ahead with this post. He unretired, went on the IL, then decided to call it quits on May 24th. Taylor was born in Virginia Beach VA on August 29th, 1990. He attended Great…
