Maybe it’s all he needs and it’s not supposed to sound encouraging. Hopefully it’s now only stiffness holding him back.

  2. FallitoSeptember 24, 2022

    2 innings doesn’t sound encouraging…

#Dodgers Tony Gonsolin is scheduled to pitch 2 IP on a rehab assignment with OKC on Tuesday. The next step after that will be determined by how he does and how he feels afterwards.

    YES….

Kimbrel has to be in the playoffs, but not as a closer.

Or do you really believe that he was on the team all season only to be left out of the post-season at the end? Some of you have bad memory!

  8. OldBear48September 24, 2022

Nuese got DFA’d and Larussa will not return to the Sox this season.

  9. OldBear48September 24, 2022

Have fun guessing because no one will know until the roster is posted just before the NLDS. Gives ya five days at the end of the season to get your ulcer wondering.

  10. BlunderfullSeptember 24, 2022

Braves like Strider, two pitches and all but, now this:

They’ve got him working on a third/fourth pitch:

  11. MichaelSeptember 24, 2022

That’s twice now tried to leave a comment and was denied. Pretty shitty of you mark

  12. EricSeptember 24, 2022

Here’s the best pitching staff at least to me: Kershaw, Urias, Anderson, May, Gonsolin, Martin, Phillips, Almonte, Ferguson, Vesia, Kahnle, Graterol (Although I don’t care for Graterol but I won’t push it). That’s 10 healthy and 2 pending (Gonsolin, Almonte). Assuming Treinen is done.

If I knew Doc would only use those pitchers in the playoffs I would say pick your poison to fill the remaining spots and have them sit in the dugout, but I don’t trust Doc.

  13. MichaelSeptember 24, 2022

    No

  14. Anthony HSeptember 24, 2022

Please no for Kimbrel and his Gas Can!

  15. 4-GensSeptember 24, 2022

    No Kimbrel.

Justin Turner has reached the age of no return, but yet he has been a cornerstone for the most successful team in the MLB this season. Appearing in 122 games this season and accumulating 13 home runs with 81 RBI’s and 126 hits on a .281 batting average comes at no surprise for a professional like Turner.

Arguably even less surprising is Turner believing he has a lot left in the tank despite being 37 years old. The All-Star spent time with AM570’s Dave Vassegh earlier this week to talk about his work with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, among other things.

“Yeah, it’s so easy to point at age, right? And you look at guys all over the league who are struggling who aren’t 37. What’s the excuse for them, right? That’s just the easiest thing to point out for me and I still feel like there’s a lot in the tank. I feel like I’ve shown, especially over these last few months that there’s a lot in the tank and I hope to continue playing for a long time.”

So rather than simply offer ultimately meaningless votes regarding who shouldn’t be on the roster–I see “nos” for Kimbrel, Heaney, Price and Bickford–.how about meaningless votes about who should replace them?

    My vote (again): Gavin Stone.

Time is short, so why not see what Stone might do against major league hitters? (My guess is that he’d do better than Heaney has lately. )

Against minor leaguers, he’s been better than Pepiot, Grove, Jackson. I bet he’s been better than major leaguers doing rehab assignments.

  24. Andrew Vincent ForteSeptember 24, 2022

Absolutely NO!!! There are much better options.

  25. OldBear48September 24, 2022

Game meant nothing in the large picture. Congrats to Tio Albert. Very happy he passed that POS Rodriguez.

  26. Jayne CobbSeptember 24, 2022

    No…

But the Pujols homer was cool. I could tell you all a story about him. But he took a picture with my kid. And he has 700. So…he’s cool.

We own the NL. I’m happy to give him that.

  27. Watford DodgerSeptember 24, 2022

    It’s a NO from me

  28. EricSeptember 24, 2022

Does anyone want Heaney on the playoff roster who’s allowed at least one home run in 7 of 14 appearances this year including 3 multiple home run appearances one with four home runs? NO.

    Kimbrel no.

It looks like the court of public opinion completely reversed itself regarding Bauer. Look at the comments.

Well, hats off to Albert. Congrats! Now Dodgers, put it in the next gear and win this one!

  34. nonicnamebumfanSeptember 24, 2022

Heaney needs somebody like Tommy to put some bulldog into him.

    He pitches scared.

Congratulations to Tio Albert, didn’t wanna see it done here though

  45. Tom1946September 24, 2022

Just saw a sports update that the Dodgers have removed Kimbrel from the closer role. I guess AF does read LADT….

  46. Singing the BlueSeptember 24, 2022

No (but no explanation point—-I don’t want to hurt his feelings).

It’s not like he’s pitching this badly on purpose.

  47. BobbySeptember 24, 2022

Will the results of this survey be shared with the powers that be of the Los Angeles Dodgers?

  48. OldBear48September 24, 2022

Dodgers Food Trailer

I did this interview a couple of weeks ago with Chef Mike, who runs the Dodgers Food Trailer for the Great Lakes Loons. They are there for every home and road regular season and playoff game. They prepare three meals a day for approximately 50 people (players and coaches). Since games end late most evenings, they do not prepare breakfast. Many of their hotels have a complimentary breakfast anyway. However,…

Meet LAD 2026 Draft Picks 1-12

3 picks were High School players (2 SS and 1 OF). There was a college OF, college catcher, college SS, and 10 college pitchers. Of all the talk for a need for a catcher, the only catcher the Dodgers selected was Luke Bard, son of LAD bullpen coach Josh Bard. Bard was a 4th year senior from Houston Christian University. He is not a prospect, so the Dodgers are still…

Interview with Paul Beachy – Team Bus Driver For The Great Lakes Loons (LA Dodgers Minor League Team)

It’s been a few days since I did this interview. We have evidently been working my son-in-law (the video guy) like a rented mule at US Water Systems. However, I am taking him to London with me in a few days, so maybe Watford will buy him a pint as a tip, but he’s a dang Red Sox fan, so there is that! I thought that it would be interesting…

Thanks for Your Service: Chris Taylor

I was going to do this post when Chris announced he was retiring, then he changed his mind, but since the chances of him ever playing for the Dodgers again are slim and non-existent, I will go ahead with this post. He unretired, went on the IL, then decided to call it quits on May 24th. Taylor was born in Virginia Beach VA on August 29th, 1990. He attended Great…
