Second base is up for grabs. About two-thirds of all teams in MLB would love to have Chris Taylor… and we could sure do worse. However, is this the year Gavin Lux seizes the day and fulfills his promise? This could possibly play out and CT3 becomes the “Swiss-Army Knife.”
Are the Dodgers Done?
Rios will get his chance even if JT returns, but if he doesn’t return, if I were AF, I would stand pat. Stick a fork in me. I am done… at least until the trade deadline. Then, if E-Rio can’t cut it then, the Dodgers kick the wheels on about a half dozen other third-basemen.
February 18th: Pitchers & Catchers Report
I do think it is plain dumb and very short-sighted not to have the DH in the NL. MLP and the Players Association have until Opening Day to change that. I doubt there will be fans allowed into Spring Training, but I don’t know that for sure. The thing is: you never know what you might see at Camelback Ranch… sometimes an old lefthander might be playing catch…
DODGERS ANNOUNCE 2021 MINOR LEAGUE COACHING STAFFS
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their Minor League coaching staffs for the 2021 season with Travis Barbary (Oklahoma City), Scott Hennessey (Tulsa), Austin Chubb (Great Lakes), John Shoemaker (Rancho Cucamonga), Danny Dorn (AZL Dodgers), Jair Fernandez and Cordell Hipolito (DSL Dodgers) all returning to lead their respective clubs. In 2019, the Dodgers bolstered one of the best systems in the Major Leagues, recording a .556 winning percentage (488-390)…
WHEN FAVORITES LEAVE
Last week, Joc Pederson left the Dodgers as a free agent to join the Chicago Cubs, and prior to that, Kike’ Hernandez signed with the Red Sox. Both were very popular with Dodger fans. Kike’, the Banana Man to many, and a versatile player, had enthralled fans with his energy, and his sometimes flair for the dramatic. His best day as a Dodger was in game 5 of the 2017…
And Yet Another Trevor Bauer Post
Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday. I am a much bigger fan of college football, and since my Packers are out of it, the lure of the Super Bowl does not hold a huge interest for me. I will undoubtedly watch the game, and I have a lot of family in KC so I will have some allegiance to them. I am not against Tom Brady as much as many I…
Pigs Fly First Class
Up until yesterday, Andrew Friedman had been busy in this offseason, but had not made any “big deals.” Oh, I think Corey Knebel was a significant deal, but other deals were of the “Dollar General variety.” That all changed yesterday when out of almost nowhere, Friedman signed Trevor Bauer. In what is probably the best introduction video ever, Trevor introduces himself as a Dodger and proclaims that he “can’t wait”…
Debacle In Denver
On Monday, the Cardinals and Rockies finally completed a trade that sends All Star and Gold Glove winner, Nolan Arenado and 50 million dollars to the Cardinals for 5 players, only one who has MLB experience, LHP Austin Gomber. None of the other 4 players played baseball last year due to the shutdown of the minor leagues. Reaction to the trade by the fan base has been almost entirely negative….
Lemons or Lemonade? It’s a Choice!
The closer we get to Spring Training the more likely Justin Turner is not going to continue his Dodger career. It appears that the Salary Cap. ‘errr Luxury Tax is a real thing. Justin Turner had a great Dodger career, but without the DH and the presence of the salary cap, we need to prepare to move on. It sucks, but sometimes when you get lemons, you simply need to…
Meet Me In St. Louis
The St. Louis Cardinals have always been an iconic organization in MLB and arguably the most successful NL via winning more WS than any other NL team, trailing only the NYY. The Cardinals have won 11 WS in 19 appearances. They also hold the ire of Dodger fans as St. Louis has beaten the LAD in four postseason series (1985 NLCS, 2004, NLDS, 2013 NLCS, and 2014 NLDS) against a…
