What just Happened?

August 9, 2022

The Dodgers just finished off a seven-game sweep of their intra-division rivals from the North and South.  The Giants and Padres don’t know what hit them.  Both rivals moved in opposite directions at the trade deadline, but the results were the same.  All L’s for the challengers against a very complete, incomplete Dodgers juggernaut. The Giants mainly treaded water at the deadline, dog-paddling through the sea of possible improvements and/or…

Mark was Right!

BigThumb
August 3, 2022

Mark was right! He called it early.  We didn’t have to do anything at the trade deadline.  Well, he’s part right.  There are no major holes to fill on this roster, we actually had to create holes so we would have open spots for a couple of players that are coming off the 60-day IL, so we did do something. The net result was restocking the farm while opening roster…

Reviewing the Rotation

4 Aces
July 25, 2022

So far, so good. The Dodger’s starting rotation is as good as it gets in baseball this season. They have the best winning percentage, ERA, WHIP, and Ave Against. It’s a clean sweep in most of the major indicators of success, but there are reasons for concern. They don’t K at an extremely high rate, just 13th in the league, and their K/BB ratio is just 7th. Who are the Dodgers All-Stars?

MLB 2022 All Star Game
July 10, 2022

The Dodgers are the class of the National League once again at the midway mark for the season and with the All-Star game upon us.  Voting is complete and the starters have been selected by the fans.  The reserves are selected by a combination of a Player Ballot where coaches, managers, and players from all teams vote in the process and the Commissioner’s Office which selects 6 players in each…

Who’s the Best?

July 5, 2022

Full disclosure: Mark asked me to write earlier this year, but the strike, errr… lockout came and I might have used it as an excuse to not get going with it. That and I find it very comfortable to read Mark’s take in the morning and use my time writing as a warm-up to get my brain going in the morning. I don’t put much thought into my posts. My…
