I Know Many Do Not Like It, But Doc Just Keeps Winning

September 21, 2021

I know some of you are saying, “Please not another Dave Roberts post” I understand. But if you have ideas, write a post and get it to Mark and he will gladly post it. I was going to respond yesterday to Mark’s reference to Bill Shaiken’s article and some of the comments, but then as I usually do, I got long winded and decided to make it blog article.  I…

150 Games Down – 12 to Go!

September 20, 2021

After 150 games, the Dodgers are trailing the San Francisco Giants by just one game. The Giants have the best record in baseball and the Dodgers are just one game behind them for the best record. Both teams have today off and then the Dodgers play the Rockies, who have been very good of late while the Giants play the Padres who are a trainwreck. I always said that we…

Rant & Rave Sunday

September 19, 2021

The Giants just keep rolling along. They may never lose again. Don’t worry: it’s an “odd” year – they only win the World Series in “even” years. I think…. hope… pray! This is just a magical year for them so far. They have lost Jake McGee for the rest of the season, but Dominic Leone stepped in and saved last night’s game. They just can do no wrong (right now)….

The Managers.

September 18, 2021

It is time to go down the list of Dodger managers over the years and see how they stack up against each other. We will start in the 1900’s since none of the managers before then were with the team for extended periods of time. First up is Hall of Famer, Wilbert Robinson. Wilbert Robinson Wilbert Robinson started his baseball life in 1886 with the Philadelphia franchise of the American…

Where Do You Draw the Line?

September 17, 2021

AKA/The Sex Blog! I have a few questions: Is it legal for a man and a woman to have sex if they are not married? Is it legal for a man and a woman to have sex if they are married? Is it legal for a man and a man to have sex if they are not married? Is it legal for a man and a man to have sex…

The Fall of Clayton Kershaw

September 16, 2021

Since 2009, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been Clayton Kershaw’s team. Excluding his rookie year of 2008, Clayton has NEVER had an ERA over 3.00 but once (3.03). His career ERA is 2.47. Until Monday, he had not pitched since early July this year due to injury, but this year his ERA is 3.33. Those are pretty good stats, maybe even worthy of being a #2 starter on most teams….

Hatch

September 15, 2021

There sometimes comes a player who might not be the best on the team, but his contributions are admirable, The perennial bench guy… and not some super-sub like Kike, but a guy who has the ability to keep the team lose, and make some positive impact on the team. Mickey Hatcher was one of those guys. Michael Vaughn Hatcher was born on March 15th, 1955 in Cleveland Ohio. He played…

Max Scherzer and Sweep of the Padres

September 13, 2021

A couple of observations for the weekend series sweep of the Pads.  The starting pitching was obscene.  Urias 7.0 IP – 0 runs, Buehler 7.0 IP – 2 runs, Scherzer 8.0 IP – 0 runs.  In 22.0 IP the Padres scraped together 10 hits and 3 walks against the three starters.  Two shutouts for the weekend.  The Padres were never ahead for the entire weekend.  Outside of Blake Treinen’s outing…

3 Homer Games… Rare But Fun To Watch… Grand Slams Even Better.

September 12, 2021

The last time we saw a Dodger hit 3 Home Runs in a game was last season when Mookie went deep against the Padres 3 times at Dodger Stadium last August. And there we no fans out there to catch them. Twenty-seven times in Dodger history, a player has hit 3 or more in a game. Only two players, Shawn Green and Gil Hodges ever hit four. I saw four…
