Dodgers Need A Jolt

June 27, 2021

Welcome to my mind. Sometimes it works well, other times, not so much. But right now at this point in the season, it is very confused. All I heard was how great this team was, of course, that was before a rash of injuries derailed that idea. Gone for the season are Caleb Ferguson, who we knew was not going to be a factor after Tommy John. Then AF signed…

Getting No-Hit May be the Best Thing That has Happened to This Team

June 25, 2021

Being no-hit in baseball is humbling, humiliating, embarrassing, and in this case, it is a wake-up-call! Bear was right yesterday, these are not the 2020 Dodgers. This version is different from last year. Gone are the “all-or-nothing” bats of Kike and Joc who have been replaced by McKinstry and Lux. That has not been a problem. The problems is that the team has gotten poor production from Betts, Seager and…

These Are Not the 2020 Dodgers

June 24, 2021

Been watching with a lot of interest the comments of fans on all sorts of posts on social media. I have to personally believe that too many think this is last year’s team and that is not the case. Several key pieces from the Champs are now plying their trade elsewhere. Some key pieces of this team have not played enough to make an impact. How many thought back during…

It’s Never Clear… at least in the Beginning!

June 23, 2021

Kershaw was OK last night, and the bullpen did their job, but the hitters failed to deliver in the clutch. The Dodgers had 8 hits and 5 walks, compared to the Padres 4 hits and 3 walks. I guess this loss is on Doc, because if Austin Barnes had started, he might have won it with 4th HR. Instead Doc started that bum, Will Smith.

Instant Stardom

June 16, 2021

Instant potatoes, instant coffee, instant whip, instant karma. Everything is instant and pitchers and all baseball players should also be instant. No waiting I tell you: INSTANT! David Price should instantly be a lockdown reliever Tony Gonsolin should instantly be an awesome #5 starter Trevor Bauer should instantly be an Ace and a 2.65 ERA is deplorable Cody Bellinger should have instantly hit several 8-run HRs Andrew Friedman should instantly…

The Best is Yet to Come!

June 12, 2021

The Dodgers are one win away from the most wins in the NL and two wins away from the most win in all of baseball. They have scored the most runs and have the largest run differential … by a huge margin, and they still are missing their World Series MVP, who is ranked as one of the Top 2 or 3 SS in all of baseball. When he is…

Get Over it!

June 9, 2021

To me, that applies to a whole lot more than baseball. Lot’s of people could apply this in their everyday lives… but I digress. Last year’s season was a sprint in 60 games and the Dodgers broke out of the gate and never looked back and at the end of 60 games they had 8 more wins than this team. Of course, they had about 25% of the injuries this…

Is Clayton Kershaw Declining?

June 6, 2021

Going into last night’s game, Clayton Kershaw had the highest ERA I can remember at this juncture. His ERA was 3.33 before the game and 3.66 after he gave up 5 ER. However, his WHIP sits at 1.01 which is barely above his career average of 1.00. He is now 33 years-old and has started 369 games and pitched 2,403 innings with 2,603 strikeouts. He has 77 strikeouts in about…

At the 1/3 Mark, What is Next?

June 4, 2021

Up to the 1/3 point of this season, we have seen a slumping Mookie Betts, almost no cody Bellinger, some AJ Pollock and some Corey Seager. That’s kind of like an 8-cylinder engine without 4 spark plugs. Tonight Jimmy Nelson and AJ Pollock return and Alex Vesia and Edwin Uceta go back to AAA. You bullpen doom and gloomers are not going to like this, but both of these pitcher’s…

The View From Home

June 3, 2021

I believe Urias will keep up his outstanding work and take lessons from his pounding by the Giants. Buehler to me is an enigma. He has some of the best stuff in the league, yet he has only 4 decisions. But I expect that to change. All in all, the team has underperformed according to the fans. I think with all the changes in the roster, the lack of the DH, injuries to very key players, and the underperformance of their catalyst, Mookie, the team has performed about as one would expect missing so many key pieces.
