Rant & Rave Sunday

September 19, 2021

The Giants just keep rolling along. They may never lose again. Don’t worry: it’s an “odd” year – they only win the World Series in “even” years. I think…. hope… pray! This is just a magical year for them so far. They have lost Jake McGee for the rest of the season, but Dominic Leone stepped in and saved last night’s game. They just can do no wrong (right now)….

Where Do You Draw the Line?

September 17, 2021

AKA/The Sex Blog! I have a few questions: Is it legal for a man and a woman to have sex if they are not married? Is it legal for a man and a woman to have sex if they are married? Is it legal for a man and a man to have sex if they are not married? Is it legal for a man and a man to have sex…

The Fall of Clayton Kershaw

September 16, 2021

Since 2009, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been Clayton Kershaw’s team. Excluding his rookie year of 2008, Clayton has NEVER had an ERA over 3.00 but once (3.03). His career ERA is 2.47. Until Monday, he had not pitched since early July this year due to injury, but this year his ERA is 3.33. Those are pretty good stats, maybe even worthy of being a #2 starter on most teams….

The Giants are Junkyard Dogs!

September 11, 2021

As I wrote that, I threw up in my mouth because it is true. The Dodgers shut out the Padres who have crashed and burned while the Giants won handily 6-1 in a bullpen game. What if on April 1st I told you the following: Dustin May would miss the seaon; Tony Gonsolin would miss over 3 months; Corey Seager would miss three months; Clayton Kershaw would miss over 2…

Carry on!

September 9, 2021

Last night I posted an outrageous blog with the plan of taking it down this morning. It is gone, but I hope the effect remains. This is a blog where you can express your feelings on anything Dodgers and you do not have to agree with anything I say. For example, DodgerRick and I seldom agree but he has well-thought-out comments. If you come he just for the purpose of…

Tonight is the Biggest Game of the Year

September 5, 2021

I would seldom say that, but the Dodgers and Giants are 9 and 9 in the W – L column and tonight’s game breaks the tie. Whoever wins will have the advantage for tiebreakers, home field advantage or whatever tie needs to be decided by their season records against each other. It may or may not be a thing… depending upon how the season ends, but it at least gives…

Nothing to See Here, Folks!

September 4, 2021

Move along… It’s just another trainwreck. Nothing to see here. I went to bed as soon as Phillips came in. I knew it was over. It had to be. It was almost 2 AM for me and when both Turners, Muncy, Betts, Smith, and Taylor are a combined 3 for 24 in 11 innings, you do not deserve to win the game. The Dodgers All-Star lineup looked like a scrub…

If You Ain’t the Lead Dog…

September 2, 2021

Well, the Dodgers’ view certainly changed last night as they swept the Braves and took sole possession of first place (How sweet it is). However, predictably, just like a group of old women in the beauty shop gossiping about something they have no knowledge of, many of you were castigating Dave Roberts for taking out Max Scherzer, bringing in the Bazooka, drawing air, and being the winningest manager in baseball….

Rants and… Whatever!

September 1, 2021

In the seasons of 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, Julio Urias pitched a combined 161 innings. Just so we are clear, that is 161 innings in four years! He currently has 151 innings pitched THIS YEAR. I know that most of you Roberts Bashers would rag on Dave Roberts forever if Urias looked gassed at the end of the season or in the playoffs. QUESTION: So why were you so…

Rant & Rave Friday

August 27, 2021

I don’t have much time today, so this format seemed appropriate. If you are so inclined, read what Dan McLaughlin writes in the National Review with regard to the Trever Bauer Debacle. It is at least very thought provoking. One has to wonder how long Max Scherzer’s arm will hold up. Justin Verlander’s evebtually broke down. Let’s hope it stays intact at least they season. In an interview yesterday, AJ…
