RHSP Emmet Sheehan made his first meaningful start since being optioned. He went 5.2 shutout innings, throwing 97 pitches (64 strikes). He allowed 3 hits, 2 BB, and 8 K. Sheehan was followed by RHRP Jerming Rosario, RHRP Ben Casparius, and RHRP Nick Robertson completed the combined shutout.

OKC scored a run in the 1st, RF Zach Ehrhard got a 1 out single. He stole his 20th base and scored when 1B James Tibbs III singled.
In the 2nd, DH Ryan Fitzgerald doubled (26) and moved 3rd on a WP. C Griffin Lockwood-Powell doubled home Fitzgerald for a 2-0 lead.
OKC scored their 3rd run in the 3rd. LF Ryan Ward singled and moved to 3rd on JTIII’s single. Ward scored on a groundout.
Still leading 3-0 going into the bottom of the 8th, SS Alex Freeland and Ehrhard drew walks. Ward followed with a 3-run HR (15).

Arkansas tied it up in the 5th. Serwinowski allowed a leadoff single. The runner moved to 2nd on a disengagement violation and scored on a single. Serwinowski struck out the next two batters, but a SB, PB, and double tied the score. LHRP Evan Shaw was brought in to replace Serwinowski who got the final out.
Tulsa took the lead in the 5th. JDP was issued a one out BB. CF Mike Sirota singled with JDP to 2nd. After a 2nd out, SS Elijah Hainline doubled home JDP with Sirota moving to 3rd. 3B Logan Wagner singled home Sirota with Hainline to 3rd. RF Kole Myers tripled (2) home both runners, and a Tulsa 4 run lead.

The lead was short-lived as Shaw and LHRP Christian Suarez gave up 5 in the 6th, including a grand slam hit off Suarez.
Tulsa tied it up in the 6th. Young hit a one out single. He stole 2nd and continued to 3rd on a catcher throwing error. Young scored the tying on Sirota’s RBI single.
Tulsa took the lead in the 7th. Gelof walked and moved to 2nd on a groundout. Wagner hit the go-ahead RBI single.
RHRP Cam Day pitched a scoreless 2.0 innings for his 6th save.

The Loons jumped out to the early lead in the 1st. DH Charles Davalan singled, CF Eduardo Quintero walked, and 2B Nico Perez singled with one out to load the bases. After the 2nd out, 1B Eduardo Guerrero hit a bases clearing single.
RHSP Jacob Frost pitched 3.0 scoreless innings. But in the 4th, he allowed 2 runs after a double, BB, 2 HBP, and a SF.
Great Lakes got the two back in the bottom of the 4th. 3B Mairo Martinus led off with a single. Moved to 2nd on a WP. Davalan walked. Both runners scored on Quintero’s double (23).
GL broke it open in the 6th. Catcher Victor Rodrigues singled and Davalan walked. Quintero singled to load the bases. SS Emil Morales had a RBI single with the other runners moving up 90’. Perez tripled (5) home 3. RF Jaron Elkins walked and Guerrero tripled (2) both runners home.

RHSP Luis Carias pitched 3.0 scoreless innings. In the 4th inning, he gave up lead off back-to-back doubles. RHRP Angel Cruz was brought in for relief of Carias and got the side retired without any further runs.
The score stayed 2-1 into the 9th. Lorenzo singled. He stole 2nd and continued to 3rd on catcher’s throwing error. DH Caleb Johnson walked. SS Kellon Lindsey doubled (6) to score Lorenzo with Johnson to 3rd. Johnson scored on a WP with Lindsey to 3rd. Lindsey scored on a groundout to finish the scoring.

It's amazing that certain Dodgers get ridiculed, trashed and punked. I never do that. And neither do any of you. Right? I've always had Landon Knack's back. He's an unsung integral piece to the Dodger dynasty. He shows up and does everything Doc asks him to do. He eats innings while the naysayers say he eats cheeseburgers. Go Landon. Matt's comment''any team can beat any other team on any given day.'' rings true in MLB. That includes the Royals. But we swept them. And 3 wins are 3 wins. We don't have to beat the Brewers this weekend. We have to beat them in October. I don't care about LA vs. MIL stats during the regular season. Although they are good talking points. The only stat I care about is 4 wins against them in Oct. But the only teams I'm worried about are the Cubs and Madres. IMHO. Stay tuned for the next episode of Dano's Dodger Playhouse. I will spare the readers here (and myself) recalling the details of all the bad baseball that lead to both Royal’s runs last night. I will just say, it’s nice to win the game. Do players still get fined in MLB? I mean other than the Kangaroo Courts. If it was up to me, that would be Page’s last ABS Challenge, last night. He’s 11 for 25 with 11 more challenges than any other Dodger player. Idiotic, early challenges handcuff the entire team the rest of the game. Plus he had second stolen by a mile and made such a terrible slide with his lead foot in the air over the base making himself, out. I’m really not picking on just him, but his nightly mistakes just drive me crazy. Nice job Lauer and Knack saving the bullpen. Nice to see Feduccia hit his first Dodger homer. Have a nice day.
I'm ready for Doc to tell Pages he is not allowed to challenge pitches anymore. He's 11-25 on challenges, which is really pathetic and takes away from much needed opportunities later in the game. Granted, nobody can beat Alex Call's brainfart of challenging 2 pitches (and losing both challenges) in the first inning. But when Pages challenges a pitch, it looks like a degenerate gambler in Vegas hitting when he already has 20

Interesting reads, and names, on the Lakers sale. All say no connection to Dodgers, Roberts shocked but says it’s above his pay grade so clearly it’s above mine. Lauer, Knack, Halverson. One might ask “who”? Phillips with an ERA of 5.7. Roster jostling. Ok. It will work out over the next month, right? Freddie still putting ball in play, and that’s good, but at 6’4” 220 he’s a big singles hitter. No way of knowing if Betts bat is waking up. He’s done this before followed by days of flatlining. What a difference consistency would make. Obviously. His throws from short still concern me. Freddie continues to bail him out in some. Others? Pages. Hello. McFly. Anybody home in there? Standings are in a bit of flux. Are the best teams about to rise? I don’t expect that to happen until September but it’s fun to watch starting in mid August. Ok. Out with the last place in with a first place. A real contender is town. They are coming of being throttled. They might arrive pissed.
I really do not understand the consternation with Landon Knack. Because he gave up 2 out singles to Bobby Witt Jr. and Jac Caglianone? I bet they have done that quite a bit this year. They did not score. Nor did they score in the 8th or 9th. He did his job. He kept Caglianone in the yard, something Tarik Skubal did not do. He will undoubtedly not be on the playoff roster. He was not auditioning for a high leverage reliever role. His job (with Lauer) was to save the bullpen. Mission accomplished. Sometimes the 40-man roster is needed for a specific job. Sometimes even beyond the 40-man, like Charlie Barnes and Cole Irvin. Or Brent Honeywell Jr. in 2024 Games 2 and 5 in the NLCS vs NYM. They fulfill a purpose.

Great raves Mark. Knack's lead in song should be "My Sharona". He looked sharp and gave the bullpen a rest. Somehow Lauer is getting out MLB hitters with skills rather than great talent. Sure beats a bullpen game. I love Andy, but losing an ABS early and bouncing off the base on a steal is unsat. Probably cost us a run, maybe a rally. Maybe be a sweep, even against a bottom feeder, will spark the boys. Freddie deserves a day off just for the effort. Let's worry about getting younger after the WS since nothing is going to change dramatically until then. Enjoy the ride and keep the faith.
