baseball america's 2026 milb all star teams
In my opinion, Baseball America is the premier publication for identifying the best prospect performances over the season. Annually they produce an overall MiLB All-Star team; a 1st team, 2nd team, and 3rd team.
The Dodgers have a total of 6 MiLB All Stars; 2 on the 1st team, 3 on the 2nd team, and 1 on the 3rd team. No other team had more than 4 total All Stars. Baltimore and Miami had 4, while St. Louis, Tampa Bay, and Seattle had 3.
The Dodgers were joined by St. Louis and Seattle with two 1st team All-Stars, but they were looking up at Baltimore with three. All of Baltimore’s and Seattle’s 1st team All-Stars were the five starting pitchers. St. Louis’ 2nd 1st team was a reliever. So the Dodgers were the only team with two 1st team position players.
For the 1st team, the Dodgers had two OF as All Stars. The report for the players came from BA.
· OF—Josue De Paula, AA Tulsa
· De Paula produced the most well-rounded batting line in the minor leagues. He hit .303 and led the Texas League with 152 hits. He drew 81 walks and got on base at a .401 clip. He struck out just 15% of the time. De Paula slugged .547 on the strength of 27 home runs and 37 doubles. He stole 31 bases. He drove in and scored more than 100 runs over 124 games. De Paula’s Double-A dominance earned him a September callup to the Dodgers, where he filled the DH void left by Shohei Ohtani’s injury.
· OF—Mike Sirota, AAA Oklahoma City
· Sirota authored a 72-game on-base streak this season that stretched from April 9 to July 10 and spanned High-A Great Lakes and Double-A Tulsa. He reached Triple-A for two games at the end of the season. Sirota was one of 14 minor league batters to walk 100 times, while his .461 OBP ranked second in the minors and his .987 OPS tied for seventh best.
2nd Team
· SS – Emil Morales
· OF – Eduardo Quintero
· SP – Christian Zazueta
3rd Team
· 1B – James Tibbs III
Mark had identified a list of the best first year draft picks for 2026, which the Dodgers had 1; Bo Lowrence. I mentioned that where the Dodgers draft, and how many they draft, it is not conducive to getting many names on this list. But we can see what happens when the development team takes over after the draft. While other teams may draft front line players, how well do they develop them?

OKC Comets 7 – Las Vegas Aviators (A’s) 2
In a win or go home game, RHSP Landon Knack was given the ball for the must win game. He will have an unexpected bat in the lineup; Josue De Paula was optioned when Shohei Ohtani was activated from the IL.
Both teams failed to score in the first two innings. OKC broke through in the 3rd. SS Noah Miller led off with a double and moved to 3rd on a single by 2B Hyeseong Kim. With one out, RF Zach Ehrhard hit a 2-run double. Ehrhard is showing a real clutch side to his game.

In the 4th inning, CF Alek Thomas led off with a single. The next two batters made out, but Kim hit a run-scoring double for a 3-0 lead.

OKC opened it up a bit in the 5th. Ehrhard and LF Josue De Paula walked to open the inning. 1B James Tibbs III, also showing signs of a clutch hitting, hit a 3-run HR, his 2nd of the playoffs. DH Mike Sirota and Thomas followed with singles but were left stranded.

For the first five innings, RHSP Landon Knack was cruising without giving up a run. In the 6th, Knack got the first two batters out. A two out single and double gave LV their first run.
In the bottom of the 7th, Knack gave up a double to the first batter and struck out the next batter. LHRP Garrett McDaniels was brought in to relieve Knack and got the final two outs.

RHRP Seth Halvorsen pitched a scoreless 8th. RHRP Paul Gervase entered in the 9th, and gave up a leadoff HR. He got the next three batters out to close out the game.
OKC and Las Vegas are now tied up at 1 game apiece. It will be a winner take all in Thursday’s game. The winner on Thursday will play a 1 game AAA Championship game against the International League Champion. That game will be played in Las Vegas.

AAA Oklahoma City wins the PCL Championship 5-2.
OKC beats Las Vegas to win PCL Championship. They will represent the PCL in the AAA Championship Game against the Rochester Red Wings (Nationals) on Saturday.
In an elimination game in the hitter friendly confines of the Pacific Coast League ,who other than your favorite punching bag turns out to be the hero. Landon Knack! Funny thing. Manny and Tatis live in a different world from other padres. They( especially Manny) seem to have a deep hate for LA!! Possibly because Manny wasn’t resigned? Tatis? Just bitter because he’s had to look up at the standings and see the Dodgers above him for the past few seasons. A very talented player, but one I do not like. Manny? The fans in dodger stadium say it all! Speaking of Tatis. Pages probably should have let Tucker catch the ball instead of darting in front of him. Orel and Joe both seemed a little peeved about it. Love his ability in center field, but sometimes he may be a bit too aggressive at times. Is it just me, or do any of you guys not get to excited when Ohtani comes up to the plate with runners on? Had a great opportunity last night with the bases loaded and he failed again. Been awhile since he delivered a big knock in important situations. Maybe he will before too long . They sure could use him in game situations like last night. After all, he’s the best in the world when healthy, right? Freddie looks like something is bothering him. Facial expressions aren’t that great right now. Very unusual to see Yamamoto make such a terrible throw to third base! Had a bad feeling about the hit batter. Manny might not be the same guy as 3 years ago, but still dangerous in big situations. Looking at the Phillies/ Brewers game last night, the Phillies defense is not very impressive. Especially the infield. Don’t think they get past the first round. The Brewers? Of course they are dangerous. Unbeatable? No. They seem to be built for the regular season. Miseroski can’t pitch every game. Padres? Home field is vital for them. Atlanta? I don’t think they will go anywhere. Sale is still very damn good. But is enough to carry them to a pennant? Cubs? Could be the most dangerous team offensively in the playoffs. Bullpen is not good, and their starting pitching may be the worst of the national league contenders. But that offense is very good and their defense is outstanding! Drop any 3 national league teams in the American League and they would be the favorites to get to the World Series.Gonna be interesting to say the least!

I had deja vu watching last night's game. Seeing the LH hitters (Shohei, Freddie, Muncy) struggle against left handed pitching reminded me years past. Freddie is in a funk, you can see it on his face when he hit. Shohei will hopefully get dialed in. And Max is seemingly incapable of hitting a deep fly ball to score the runner on third--I have seen this from Max all season. It's funny to me that I felt most comfortable with Tucker against the Pads left handers.
A footnote of course is Teo reminding us that we have take his good (slug) with his bad (questionable base running and fielding).
In sad news, longtime Lakers' PA announcer Lawrence Tanter passed away. He had a stroke earlier this year, so missed the final month or so of the Laker season.
What a voice he had!

If only two of those three teams end up tied, then it’s relatively simple,
The Cubs would win a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Phillies or Padres. The Phillies would win a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Padres.
Obviously the Padres want to stay right where they are - at the top of the WC standings. They finish at home against the Dbacks.

Tough night for the Blue and Yamamoto who only gave up 4 hits and a,walk. 1-9 RISP stinks. Tucker, Teo and Pages came through which bodes well for post season play. JDP is more fun to watch than Ohtani. Triples, walks and active base running are more exciting than dingers and strikeouts.
These kind of games happen sometimes. On another night we win this one.,Couldn’t quite get the hit at the right time.
The good news was Shohei appeared to be swinging freely and Pages looked fine, and Will looks completely locked in.
I totally get the JDP thing. He’ll be there on the Post Season roster. However Blake Treinen shouldn’t be. He’s gone back to throwing with no conviction which he does when his confidence goes. We have better alternatives.
We are rounding nicely into form at the right time. It’ll take a very good team to get the better of us.
Surprised the dodgers optioned dePaula to AAA. I understand they probably want to give him as many at bats as possible and with Shohei back he would have probably been relegated to pinch hitting. Still I would have liked to stay him at LA for the rest of the season.
I look at BA's minor league all-stars and think.... Charles Davalan wuz robbed!!! The Dodgers depth is delightfully ridiculous. Seriously, I'd like to see some sort of Rule 5 expansion or other mechanism that enabled blocked talent to get more opportunities with needy teams.
Today's game is reminder that the Padres are dangerous. They should get a wild card spot and could get in the Dodgers way of a three-peat.
