OKC Comets 6 – Reno Aces (Dbacks) 4
RHSP Christian Romero pitched a decent 5.0 innings. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits, 2 BB, with 7 K.
OKC jumped out to a lead in the 1st. After the first two were out, 1B Ryan Ward and DH James Tibbs III drew walks. CF Jack Suwinski singled home Ward. LF Ryan Fitzgerald singled to score Tibbs III and Suwinski came all the way home on the throwing error.
In the 3rd, Ward drew his 2nd BB, and Tibbs III singled him to 3rd. Suwinski grounded into a force out with ward scoring.
In the 4th, Romero allowed a single, BB, and 1-out double scored a run.
The Comets got the run back in the 6th. Suwinski walked, followed by a R. Fitzgerald single, and a bases loading BB for SS Noah Miller. C Chuckie Robinson hit a soft ground ball for a force out and an RBI with Suwinski scoring.
LHRP Jake Eder completed 2.0 innings facing the minimum. He did hit a batter, but he was erased in a DP.
RHRP Nick Frasso entered in the 8th, and was not as good as Eder. Back to back doubles, a BB and 4 WP scored 3 runs. He was only able to record one out. RHRP Chayce McDermott finished the final 1.2 innings to get the save, his first for OKC.
Miller hit his 6th HR for the final run.
Ryan Fitzgerald was the only OKC batter with 2 hits.
Tulsa Drillers 6 – Wichita Wind Surge (Twins) 0
LHSP Wyatt Crowell fought through 5.2 scoreless innings. He finished with 97 pitches, 50 for strikes. He allowed 2 hits, but 5 BB and 1 HBP to go with 6 K. In the 6th he left the bases full after a single, BB, and HBP before LHRP Evan Shaw was brought in. Shaw got the 3rd out to end the threat. Shaw would go on to pitch a pair of additional scoreless innings
Tulsa scored a pair in the 1st. DH Kendall George had a lead off single followed by a walk to LF Josue De Paula. George and De Paula pulled off a double steal. RF Zyhir Hope grounded out, while George scored and De Paula moved to 3rd. De Paula scored on a WP.
The scored stayed at 2-0 until the 6th. CF Mike Sirota doubled (1) and scored on Hope’s single.
In the 7th, 2B Jake Gelof doubled (3). After one out, George hit an infield single with Gelof moving to 3rd. George stole 2nd (his 22nd). Sirota doubled (2) to score two.
In the 9th, George walked and moved to 2nd on a WP. De Paula drew a BB, but George was thrown out attempting to steal, only the 3rd time all year. Sirota singled for his third hit. Hope walked to load the bases, and SS Elijah Hainline was HBP scoring De Paula.
RHRP Kelvin Ramirez pitched a scoreless 9th with 3 Ks to finish the game.

Great Lakes Loons 4 – Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Milwaukee) 3
Great Lakes scored a pair in the 1st. CF Chuck Davalan hit a leadoff HR (7). Next batter, LF Eduardo Quintero, drew a BB and stole 2nd. After 2 outs, RF Jose Meza singled Quintero home.
LHSP Zach Root had a good outing. He completed 3.2 scoreless IP, allowing a single, but 3 BB. He did get 6K. He was lifted after 60 pitches (38 strikes), and getting the first two batters, in favor of RHRP Reynaldo Yean. Yean walked 2 and had an errant pickoff throw, but did not allow a run. He walked one in the 5th, but nothing else.
RHRP Davis Chastain entered in the 6th and eventually lost the lead. He walked the first 5 batters that tied the score. He then struck out the next batter, but a sac fly brought home the go ahead run.
In the bottom of the 6th, 3B Nico Perez was HBP, stole 2nd, stole 3rd, and scored on the catcher’s throwing error.
In the 7th, Meza had a lead off walk and went to 3rd on 2B Eduardo Guerrero’s single. Meza scored the go-ahead run on a balk.
LHRP Matt Lanzendorfer pitched the final three innings without allowing a run on 2 singles. He also had 3 K, and lowered his ERA to 1.86 in his 1st 9.2 innings at Great Lakes.
Catcher Victor Rodrigues was the only Loons batter to have 2 hits. Perez had a triple (2).
Inland Empire 66ers (Seattle) 12 – Ontario Tower Buzzers 8 – Game 1 (7 Innings)
Three Ontario pitchers were ineffective. They gave up 12 runs (9 earned) on 9 hits and 7 BB, with only 4 punchouts.
Down 1-0, Ontario put up 5 in the 2nd. 1B Easton Shelton singled with 1 out. C Conner O’Neal and 2B Javier Herrera each walked to load the bases. After a 2nd out, RF Mairo Martinus walked to bring Shelton home with the tying run. DH Ching-Hsien Ko then followed with a grand slam, his 8th HR on the year.
In the 3rd, Shelton (9) and O’Neal (3) hit back to back doubles.
In the 5th, SS Joendry Vargas doubled (11) and scored ahead of Shelton’s 9th HR

Ontario Tower Buzzers 7 – Inland Empire 66ers (Seattle) 6 –– Game 2 (8 innings)
RHSP Luis Carias struggled in the 2nd game of a DH, but he needed to get innings because of the lack of pitching available. In the 1st, a one out single with the runner scoring on a double. The 2nd run scored on a RBI single.
In the 2nd, thanks to a pair of throwing errors, the 66ers scored a pair. A BB, single, with the runner scoring on a throwing error. The 2nd run scored on a single and a 2nd throwing error.
IE scored their 5th run off Carias from a HR.
Ontario scored a run in the 2nd. 1B Easton Shelton singled, stole 2nd, and moved to 3rd on catcher throwing error. Shelton scored on 2B Javier Herrera’s RBI single.
In the 5th, Herrera led off with a BB. DH Kellon Lindsey moved Herrera to 2nd on a sac bunt, and scored on CF Brendan Tunink’s single.
After the HR in the 3rd, Carias retired the last eight batters he faced. So while it was a rough start, Carias left the game on a positive note.
RHRP Jose Cabrera relieved Carias in the 6th. He gave up a HR to give IE a 6-2 lead.
In the 7th, Herrera singled and moved to 3rd on LF AJ Soldra’s double (3). Herrera scored on a ground out, with Soldra moving to 3rd. 3B Mairo Martinus singled to score Soldra. RF Ching-Hsien Ko walked. SS Joendry Vargas singled home Martinus and Shelton singled to score Ko to tie the score.
In the 8th, C Anson Aroz was the placed runner. Herrera drew a BB, and Lindsey walked to load the bases with one out. With 2 outs, Aroz scores on a balk, but that was the only run they would get.
In the bottom of the 8th, RHRP Angel Cruz walked one, but got the next three outs without a run scoring.
