Not by my choice, but LA Dodger Chronicles has come to an end, at least my version of it. I tried to log on to the site on Sunday, March 22, but instead found a notice that “This Page Does Not Exist”. I emailed my Project Manager to get the site back up, but there was no response. I tried to call him on Monday, but his phone was blocked.
I tried to contact Corporate but their calls failed. This was going to be my last year anyway. So I can continue to fight this seemingly never ending fight, or to acknowledge that I have had a great run and maybe this was a sign for me to enjoy whatever days I have left on this earth without the worrisome task of managing a blog. Life is too short, so I chose the latter.
My one regret is that I did not get to have LA Dodger Chronicles go out on my terms, let my readers and commenters know how much they were appreciated, and that I enjoyed the dialogue, even when we disagreed. I know a lot of my readers and commenters also come to LADT. I had contacted Mark and he allowed his platform for my LADC farewell.
Mark gave me a chance 9 years ago, at a time when I needed a distraction. I continued to write for him until early 2022. I left on good terms, and Mark has continued to help me when needed.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who visited, read, and commented on LA Dodger Chronicles. You will never know how appreciated you were. Too many names to mention, so I will not try.
The blog started April, 2022. I had Harold Uhlman and Rob Schelling as my writing partners. Harold concentrated on the prospects and Rob had his observations and views form lazy recliner. He was also prescient with the MLB Draft. Unfortunately, Harold passed away that Winter, and Rob’s legal practice and personal matters kept him away.
I do not recall the full genesis of the transition, but Bear joined me relatively soon thereafter. I know Mark played a key role in that transition and Bear was a HUGE benefit to the blog and me. I know he was writing for LADT and LADC the last several months, and I know he has his own health issues, but he never let me down.
People who have reached out to me ask me what I will be doing next. I still love to write, and I really love the research. Mark has afforded me the opportunity to write for LADT again, and I have agreed to do so. Same terms as always. When I can, whatever baseball topic I choose, and always unedited.
Anyone who has followed me over the last 9 years know that my passion is MiLB. I concentrate on LAD prospects but I follow all of the prospects. Maybe it the 1,000 + MiLB games I saw live since my son started MiLB in the Phillies organization. For those who do not know, he was on the 2004 Boston MLB roster and while he did not get to play in the WS, he does have a WS ring. He spent nine years in MiLB, and I saw countless of his games, all on the East Coast, from Maine to Florida.
I am also a retired CFO, so I tend to get wrapped up in the finances of MLB.
I am a contrarian prone to hyperbole. I am Dodger loyalist who believes there is no better MLB executive than Andrew Friedman, Brandon Gomes is an excellent student under AF’s tutelage who will get a shot at being a POBO with some organization, and while Dave Roberts is not the best strategist in a MLB dugout, he is perfect for the Dodgers, and no other manager can do what he does with the Dodgers. They will all make mistakes, and if warranted, I will comment. I wear rose-colored glasses, but I will not act like an ostrich and hide my head if I disagree with something.
Thank you for your indulgence. Thank you, Mark, for allowing me this platform to thank my followers at LADC. And thank you Mark, for the opportunity to return to write for LADT after 4+ years.

Jeff,
You have always been a friend and a gentleman. You are always welcome here, and so are any of your readers. My God, if I take Scott back… 😉 JK, Scott!
I look forward to you and Bear taking some of the load off me. If you are a Dodger fan, you are welcome here!
LOLZ
I am an admitted pain in the butt
BTW, I gave Jeff a 100% pay increase!
Same as Bear!
Sorry to hear about the circumstances causing Dodger Chronicles to shutdown. Thank you Jeff for all your dedicated work in keeping the site up and running and all your insightful commentary. I’m happy to hear that you will continue to write at Dodger Talk. Very generous of Mark to invite us all back. Look forward to more of your work and to a great 26 three peat season. Oh and I hope our subscription fees don’t go up now that you and Bear are hauling in the big bucks!
I am tripling all the subscription fees.
For the mathematically challenged: $0.00 X 3 = $0.00
WHEW!
Gotta hate those rate increases.
I don’t pay without an invoice in triplicate.
I would like to thank Jeff and Mark for the opportunity to do something I had never done before when I first started writing for LADT, and then Dodger Chronicles. I hope I have grown as a writer because I never had any formal education to do so. My passion has always been baseball history, and that is what I usually write about. But now and then I go off script. Both Jeff and Mark allowed me to pursue something I learned to love doing. Since I am retired, I have plenty of free time to do research. I am just glad whatever medical issues I have are not severe enough to keep me from that. Thanks, Jeff, and Mark, for all of the kind words and encouragement.
I saw that the game tonight is also on NBC along with Peacock. Since I have both, I am ok.
As someone who understands the daily grinds, and expenses of running a Dodger blog/website, Jeff you did it well. The site was a welcome platform where you gave even keelled takes while also not shying away from critisicsm when it was needed.
It’s sad to see the site go as it did in this fashion, but you did a great job and we are happy to see you able to enjoy life without the aches and pains of managing a blog.
Thank you again (and thanks to Bear). Log live Ladodgerchronicles.
Now if I could figure out what to do with my own site? lolz
Hire Jeff’s project manager!
This is great news.
Will only increase my enjoyment of following the boys in blue with everyone in one place.
This might be a good day to push all our chips in for Skenes!!
Skenes lasted 2/3 of inning in today’s game against the Mets with 5 earned runs, not Cy Young statistics.
Skenes got burned by O’Neil Cruz’s ugly defense….

Well deserved start for Miggy Ro today, regardless of what hand the pitcher throws from.
Can’t wait for his standing ovation , for what I think is the greatest Dodger home run ever
Padres close to being sold, there are four groups in the bidding. Price for team set to exceed 3 billion dollars.
I’m out. Couldn’t get the financing
Pham signed with the Mets on a minor league deal. Eight outfielders on Tulsa’s roster, just three at OKC.
Jeff, you did a great job.
Hope to see you here.
Poll: Tonight Mike Trout will set an Angels record with his 14th start on opening day. Garrett Anderson was the previous record holder at 13. Does Trout make it to the Hall despite his sub-par performances over the last several years. He has 404 homers but is almost 300 hits shy of 2000.
He had a 5 year run as the best player in baseball so. Yes
Closer to 8 years. From 2012-19 he never had a WAR of less than 6.9. In 2020, he played in 53 of the Angels 60 games. 2021 was when the injury bug really began to hit him. I also concur he is a first ballot guy. If he can put up a 2.6 WAR this year, his career WAR will be 90.0.
I wouldn’t rate him as HOF, bar seems recently the Hall of Very Good but not necessarily Fame.
3 MVP awards?
85 WAR
of course, he’s a HOFer.
What are we even talking about here?
There are roughly 270–275 players in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Of those, only about 40 players have a WAR over 85/
Which means:
1. About 230+ Hall of Famers have career WAR below 85
2. Mike Trout is a First Ballet Hall of Famer.
Unanimous.
87.4 WAR Bluto.
Easy yes
Jeff, you had a great site and I really enjoyed all the banter. Hope all of your bloggers migrate here as well. Sorry to see it end in that particular way but at least we had this cushion to help with info
Per yesterday’s prediction article
I only have one prediction.
Up in the blue confines of heaven. The big Dodger in the sky with Tommy and Vin seated at his side, will be smiling down at Chavez Ravine as the Dynasty Dodgers
3 count em 3 PEAT!
Book em
Dano!
Interesting opening day of games with elite starting pitchers.
Logan Webb – 5.0 IP, 9 hits, 7 runs (6 earned), 1 BB, 7 K, 1 HBP, 86 pitches (58 strikes)
Paul Skenes – 0.2 IP, 4 hits, 5 runs, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 HBP, 37 pitches (26 strikes)
Nick Pivetta – 3.0 IP, 7 hits, 6 runs, 3 BB, 4 K, 69 pitches (42 strikes)
Of course Max Fried and Tarik Skubal were outstanding.
Pivetta’s elite?
13-3 last season, 2.87 ERA. At this point, he is the Padres Ace. Maybe not elite, but very good and their best.
Yes, he is.
He had early CY hype going into the year after 31 starts last year with 181.2 IP, a 2.87 ERA,, 0.985 WHIP, 3.8 K/BB ratio, and #6 in CY vote. He is the Padres Ace. Is he comparable to Webb or Skenes? Obviously not. But IMO he was elite last year.
BTW, Crochet also had a great start to the year.
I wasn’t aware. Thank you.
Whoever beats out Skenes for Cy Young should thank O’Neil Cruz for his help…
The misjudged “triple” and sun “double” wrecked Skenes’ ERA.
You can throttle the Dodgers for a few innings, but then they “Release the Kracken!”
Impressive opener
Pitching was nails, offense opportunistic, plus excellent defense. Arenado made a couple of great plays for the Dirtbags.

Well Jeff sorry the way LA Dodger Chronicle left us commenter scratching our head , but glad you will be here on LADT love following milb.
Dominant.
Best team I’ve ever followed.
Really digging the 6/7/8 of Muncy/Teo/Pages.
Very dangerous lot.
They might bat 3-4-5 on a lot of teams.
Pages’s all-star campaign is off to a nice start.
Let me add my thanks to Jeff for all your great work over at LADC. Delighted to see that you’ll be commenting and writing over here again.
And thank you Mark, for welcoming everyone back. Somehow it seems like LADT has turned over a new leaf and maybe we’ll now have the kind of atmosphere over here that will lead to interesting back and forth without all the vitriol. If so, maybe things happen for a reason.
It’s okay to disagree; it’s not okay to be an a-hole. That kind of stuff doesn’t play.
Good for Pages. Great catch and a big dinger. That’s how you flush that postseason
How much does Uniqlo pay the Dodgers?
“Even if everybody still calls it Dodger Stadium, Uniqlo paid for signage and branding and the technical name, to be repeated over and over in team communications, including broadcasts. The Dodgers are reportedly receiving more than $125 million over the five-year deal — about enough to pay for, say, Freddie Freeman”.
Miguel Rojas said Shohei Ohtani gifted all his teammates a watch, with a note that said “Let’s three-peat.”
“That watch, we’re going to keep it forever, and we always going to remember that the best player in the world gave us a watch for 2026 Opening Day.”
Thanks for all the fun, Jeff.
It’s been nice to have TWO go-to options for Dodgers chatter.
I hope to read your commentary here now!
Treinen made it thru his 1 inning
What was nice to see last night was that the Dodgers only struck out 4 times, Arizona’s downfall this year will be its bullpen. No left hand relievers is a problem.
