We had our Thanksgiving Dinner last night in order to accomodate some schedule conflicts. We had about 35 members of our family here: inlaws, outlaws, no laws, etc. Today, we have to drop my wife’s neice and her husband off at the airport at 11:00 AM and then drive two hours to my daughters new house in Ft. Wayne to have Thanksgiving Dinner with her family. My wife and her neice put on a spread that was amazing! They worked and cooked all day and here was the result:

It was amazing. I am thankful for my friends and family… especially my Dodger friends.
HAPPY DODGER THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!
I am thankful for Blake Snell and hopefully soon… Juan Soto. The Dodgers HAVE TO get younger on the offensive side of the ball. Of course, there are “reports” that he prefers to stay on the East Coast… but we have never heard him say that. However, we have heard him say he would like to play with Shohei Ohtani. So, there is that. I think he will sign somewhere in the next 10 days.
The Dodgers absolutely need to add youth to their offense. I am not convinced that Soto will be a Dodger, but I am convinced that he needs to be a Dodger.

Happy, Healthy Thanksgiving to all the posters and readers on this amazing Dodger site and especially to you Mark for all your hard work in keeping things going. A lot to be thankful for living in this greatest country in the world.
happy thanksgiving! if the dodgers sign soto, i’ll pull for him. i always said if bonds were to be a dodger i would take a break from baseball. that might have been a false statement, but you get my drift. i recognize his ability to hit a baseball. i also don’t particularly care for his antics at home plate. Once again, i’ll get over it. if we could bput sotos hit tools in teo’s body, what a guy that would be! i understand the “getting younger “ part of your reasoning to bring soto to LA, probably ends up being a great teammate in LA. So if he comes, fine. if he doesn’t, that’s fine too! And by the way, yeah the dodgers have spent some money. So have the Mets. So have the Yankees. So have the Cubs, the cardinals, and so on. The Pirates have possibly the best pitcher in baseball. BUT, will they add to it? they can! But will they? The Guardians have talent , will they add? The Orioles? never mind. Bottom line, will they. The Giant have money, nobody wants it! The padres seem to have unlimited cash for free agents! Cubs and Red sox have all kinds of money. So all you Billionaire owners, quit complaining and spend your money! the fan base deserves a better product! Look at how the braves locked up albies and Acunia! highway robbery! If healthy , i’d take Acunia over Soto all day! i know ,if healthy. but soto could be injured at some point. As i close, Soto comes? ok if not , ok! everyone have a safe and peaceful thanksgiving!!
Ohtoni has changed the business plan and the revenue stream since being a Dodger. He alone is an economy. it’s called an Ohtonomy.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Some things I don’t worry about!! ‘Soto’s antics at the plate ‘ How would you feel about Max if he was on the Padres??. ‘We have to get younger”. That can happen in A MINUTE, anytime AF decides to do it. Trades, Free agents, prospects. Use the ‘old guys’ as long as they can produce!!
I am thankful everyday for all the blessings in my life. But I have never experienced a Thanksgiving where I had so much to be thankful for. This is an amazing time to be a Dodger fan and I am very thankful to Mark for providing this place. I hope all of you have a great day full of harmony and love. It is also an amazing time to be an American. I pray for the divisions in our country to be healed as we enter a new age of prosperity and love for our fellow man.
That shar-coot-erie platter looks amazing.
At mother-in-law’s in Camano Island on cup #1 of coffee.
There’s a full bar with multiple bottles of Bailey’s. Waiting for the right moment to freshen up my cup.
Happy Thanksgiving, Mark
On this thanksgiving day, I am thankful to Mark for the effort I can only imagine it takes to keep up this site. Most of us can post at our leisure. Mark has to do it even on days he just does not feel like it. Imagine having to come through every day while still having a business the size of US Water Systems. I am also thankful for the regular contributors. The insight you provide is such high quality. I look forward to lunch every workday at which I come first to this site for some quite time and some fun. Thanks to all of you. I am truly grateful.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Grateful for this site and the pleasure it brings to hear from so many Dodger fans.
One Soto comment, I don’t mind his at the plate antics, it’s the game within the game between hitter and pitcher and he makes it fun to watch. When he gets beat he often acknowledges the pitcher beat him. Regardless it would be even more fun to watch those antics if he was wearing Dodger Blue.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Agreed – Mark definitely puts a a lot of time into this site and so many of us enjoy, and for me, is my one constant on the internet.
That is a big dog! – What weight will Shadrack be when fully grown?
I think Soto, who is only 26, is allowed a pass on some of his antics. None that I have seen have been over the top.
If (when!) he joins the Dodgers he will have great players, but better yet, really good people around him that he can emulate and learn from.
Again – can never say thanks enough for this site.
Hope all A GREAT WEEKEND.
Shadrack will likely be around 160-170!
I hope Shadrach enjoyed the pumpkin pie.
My guess is yes. And maybe everything else….
As for the Dodgers, it would be nice for the team to get younger, but Soto is just one player. Helluva hitter, mediocre-at-best defender–and the Dodgers already have a pretty good DH. And who knows? The prodigy might age like Trout….
Luis Robert Jr. is about a year older than Soto. He can’t hit like Soto, but he can hit like Teo–and he plays CF with the best of them. His price in prospect capital might seem steep, but it would be small fraction of what Soto will be getting…um, probably from the Mets.
Robert just had an off year, and his injury history is a concern–but nobody denies his talent. If I had a choice between Soto or Robert, I’d take Robert and invest the $$$$$ left over in Adames, Treinen, Buehler and Kike.
How about: Lux, Outman or Pages, Bobby Miller and Rushing. The Sox could field a lineup with four quality talents for the price of one Luis Robert. If that seems too steep, how does it compare to $600 million for Soto?
The best way for Dodgers to get younger would be to find and nurture a couple of their own Jacksons–like a Merrill, Chourio or Holliday.
Could De Paula be Soto Lite? Is it wrong to have hope in Zyhir Hope?
Happy Thanksgiving All !!
Have safe and blessed day.
So much to be thankful for.
Thank you LORD !!!
Yes thank you Jesus for this great country .I would love to have Soto.He would not be a problem.Whatever minor things he does that gripes some, his positives would so outweigh them there would not be any problem. He would be loved.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Hope you all enjoy your time with your families and loved ones. Long time and everyday reader and seldom poster. But on this day, I thought I would extend greetings to you all and give thanks to Mark for keeping this blog alive and for all his infinite wisdom and time with the greatest sports team in the world! GO BIG BLUE!!!!!
And that’s a nice spread there Mark and kuddos to your wife and niece! But where is the panic and lumpia on that table?
