Six-Man Rotation

The Dodgers chances of signing Sasaki dropped since he is not going to be posted until next year and as we sit here, the Dodgers have just $5,146, 200.00 to sign Sasaki, which means there are 28 teams who can offer Sasaki a larher signing bonus!

Ouch!

Now, that can change if Andrew Friedman trades some players for signing bonus money… but he will have to overpay to get it. Trading players like Lux and Outman and other prospects is what it will take.

Six-Man Rotation

Just looking back:

This is an outstanding Watch:

  1. Might as well trade Knack if he is not going to start. Pepiot had a nice season with TB last year.

  2. Matt and Mark, thank you for posting that brilliant video. So refreshing to see guys just hanging and talking rather than being interviewed in a sterile way.

It actually reinforced what I’ve thought for a long time about team sports and actually getting across the line and winning it all. You need a collective effort and mindset, a togetherness if you will.

It’s clear that we have had talented teams before that have come up short, but this time the adversity over the season caused them to have to come together to win rather than let individual performances win games.

It was very interesting that it was Mookie and Max who seemed to be the leaders of the Post Season team bonding and planning, and not necessarily “Management”.

A collective will to win, and the belief in your teammates takes a lot of stopping.
They clearly thought, as did I, that the Padres were the biggest obstacle, and once they were overcome there was an inevitability about the final outcome.

The fact that the core of this team is coming back is crucial and hopefully some of the Free Agents will return.
This team should go close again, especially with a couple of quality additions.

  3. Sign Snell. He is the best proven left hander out there. No qualifying offer and no loss of a draft pick. He will flourish in a six man rotation. We need a quality left hand starting pitcher for the rotation as all the present starters on right handed. AF tried to get him at the trading deadline last year and he had ties with him with the Rays.

    1. On a short-term deal I could see it. Slow-play him all season then unleash him in the postseason where he’d be super-impactful.

  4. Soto is wasting every team’s time by meeting with them. As I have stated last year even being a Yankee last season, he will be a Met in 2025 with Steve Cohen’s money being the deciding factor. Bet it!!!!!!

  5. Well, Cohen has said he will beat any offer by $50 Million so the Dodgers, Philliesa nd Yankees should drive up the price. Cohen will not be denied.. and I belive he will beat any offer by $50 Million.

  6. Glad you enjoyed it Watford, was one of the best things I have ever seen. Love the dig at Scherzer.

What’s wrong with Lux at 2B and Mookie back to RF? No way I sell low on Lux. I think he has a monster year in 25. His defense was outstanding last year and another year removed from his injury, he is going to do well, real well….

Lux at 2B, Edman/Rojas SS, can platoon in center with Pages…..

  7. Reading between the lines, it sounds like Prior and Co. are going with the hybrid 5 man rotation they used this year. Now you have 2 guys that pitch every 6 or 7 days and 3 starters going every 5th day. That’ll require some bullpen games but that’s just part of their gameplan now. They can rotate plenty of bulk guys anyway. Prior said if they went to a 6, they’d lose a reliever. So they will keep 5 starters and 8 relievers. Maybe after Ohtani makes his pitching requirements they’ll go 6 and 8
But I bet they bring in a 9th reliever and keep 5 starters. I think our relief corp will be really really good. Lots of good ex starters. Do you realize come next Oct. if the Dodgers only have 3 starters they will carry 11 bullpen arms. Wow. If Ohtani is pitching of course. What a valuable asset he is. Like no other.
    Domo Arigato.
