Carry on!

I have a lot to do today. The A-Fib is gone, and I am no longer winded. I walked 6.3 miles yesterday just working around our house and property and trips to Lowes. It feels good to not be tired! Another busy day today, so all I will say is, “Nice Win – Hopefully, they saved some runs for today.

… and remember: Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) that Arte Moreno does is always wrong. Andy Pages should be an Angel! The City of Los Angeles should sue Arte for using their name on his team. What an absolute joke he is!

Gavin Lux is about to break out!

  1. well i’m having eggs, potatoes, and crow for breakfast! Max FRICKING Muncey!! And you know what? who cares if he goes 0 for 5 today !!!! Leave him alone!! he has looked so much better at 3rd!! 4 hits last night? now that’s production!! He’s slimmed down some and that was. a heck of a play last night! So the crow might be a little tough to swallow, but i earned it!!

    1. The first four are the first four and the bottom third is the bottom third, but Muncy and Teoscar are the keys to this offense, especially in October.

  2. Sunday Dodger Minor League Schedule

11 a.m. PT: Tulsa (Justin Wrobleski) vs. Springfield (Tink Hence)
11:10 a.m.: Great Lakes (Jackson Ferris) at Wisconsin (Edwin Jimenez)
12:05 p.m.: Oklahoma City (Landon Knack) vs. Salt Lake (TBA)
2:05 p.m.: Rancho Cucamonga (Edgardo Henriquez & Carlos Duran) at Modesto (Elijah Dale & Brody Hopkins)

In yesterday’s ACL game against the Brewers Christian Zazueta, acquired with Matt Gage in February in the Caleb Ferguson trade, struck out three in three innings, and allowed a run.

    1. Bruns is good but Wrobleski & Ferris are even more highly regarded LHP prospects to watch today. Great day for arms on the farm.

  3. The day that Max Muncy got injured at first base on the last day of the season delivered a big blow to our playoff chances that year. He was really a key player. Since then he has not been Max Muncy. Mb he is finally getting healthy. If Max is Max our team is so dangerous.

Mark, 6.3 miles congrats! Good health cannot be overstated. I have to hand it to Preller of San Diego he does go for it. He has quietly put together a fine offensive team and a quality staff with a true ace. Shildt seems to pull the right levers. I thought the Giants would come in second but with Arraez the Pads move ahead barring injury. The Giants have to have Snell perform to get to the next level.

    1. I didn’t set out to walk that much, but looking at the aerial view of our property, which is 3.5 acres, I am always walking to OB1 or OB2 or the Pool house or down the basement. 6.3 miles was incidental, not planned. I only have 2.9 miles today.

  5. 05/05/24 Los Angeles Dodgers placed RHP Evan Phillips on the 15-day injured list. Right hamstring strain.
05/05/24 Los Angeles Dodgers activated RHP Blake Treinen from the 15-day injured list.
05/05/24 Los Angeles Dodgers sent RHP Connor Brogdon on a rehab assignment to Oklahoma City Baseball Club.

      1. A hamstring strain for a pitcher can take a while to get over.
        Hudson has been inconsistent.
Nobody knows if Treinen will ever be the old Treinen.

Now is the time for Andrew to spend some of his prospect capital and go out to get a high end reliever before the deadline when prices will go up even more. And by “high end” I do NOT mean Kenley.

          1. It’s a Grade 1 strain and even if it was a Grade 3, AF would not Wally Pipp one of the best closers in baseball. He should be back as soon as he is eligible.

    1. Max will generally sit against tough LHP.

Fried can be a tough LHP.

  6. i know Mark, but can’t that hurt a hitter ? Sitting him after a fantastic night? Will Smith is probably used to it being the every day catcher. i haven’t seen the Braves lineup yet, but it probably looks like yesterday. ——- Now on another subject. Chris Taylor. If his struggles continue for say, 2 weeks, how much more will the Dodgers stick with him? ——— I guess outman too? ——. Would love a big win today! But, lineup is significantly weaker than yesterday’s. Just like in Toronto last sunday, it’s kinda like ok, we can’t beat Fried, move on and get the next 3 against Miami! I’m probably wrong for saying that but it kinda feels that way!——-Mark, so glad you’re better! you provide a wonderful site for us Dodger fans to enjoy and express our thoughts. I really don’t have a daily friend to talk baseball with so i get my “fix” right here! good health and may we all celebrate a win today, and a win when the last game of the season is played!

    1. Max sits against tough lefties period. Might be counter-productive in fans eyes, but his career stats says he needs to sit. But it gives them two power bats off of the bench in the late innings.

    2. Max sits against tough lefties period. Might be counter-productive in fans eyes, but his career stats says he needs to sit. But it gives them two power bats off of the bench in the late innings.

  7. I think we need to play our best players against playoff pitchers, regardless of handedness.. I want Muncy and Lux battle tested when the playoffs begin, the logic being they are more likely to hit Fried in the playoffs if they have experience against in the regular season.

  8. Get used to this Andy. Elevated fastballs and breaking stuff in the dirt. If you keep swinging at stuff out of the zone, you’re gonna get included into Mr. Timmons 4th and 5th outfielder status. Take a walk-it’s free!

  9. Baseball is such a strange and streaky game. Last week if I told you we would sweep the Braves you would have thought I was insane.

  10. The Padres announced that right-hander Joe Musgrove has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation.

  11. Sweep!!
Treinen looked good. Glad he is back.
Pages looking more like Taylor. Taylor looking like Taylor.
    Paxton vgood outing.
Betts looked small in a big series. Quality d
    Grove fantastic 9th
Bottom of lineup still sucks. Kiki, Taylor, outman, Barnes, Rojas n pages must become more disciplined or will b in the group

  12. Knack was solid at Oklahoma City this afternoon 1W 5IP 4H 1R 1ER 2BB 8K 82 pitches 50 strikes

    1. No problem with him as 6th starter.

      1. Glasnow
      2. Yama
      3. Paxton
      4. Stone
      5. Buehler

  13. Anyone else think Grove might need a look at closer? just saying!! he looked filthy!

    1. He’s fine what what he’s doing now ,not closer material.

  14. The Giants designated former Dodger Mitch White for assignment on Sunday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

  15. Very encouraged to see Paxton look terrific in his best performance of this season so far.

  16. I guess we don’t need to platoon the DH. Ohtani has his Dodger moment in a big sweep. And Grove looks like the closer everyone wants to trade for. Right again Mr. Timmons

  17. So it’s pretty obvious that Shohei, Pages and Max have been swinging the bat well, and the pitching has been strong too, including Treinen’s return with that wicked slider. Pages looks like a ROY contender, while the MVP battle could pit Shohei vs. Mookie
So let’s take a moment to be impressed by how well Mookie is playing SS. Exceeding expectations? I think so. I think the possibility of a trade for Adames or another frontline SS is diminishing
Dodgers will have a dilemma when Heyward returns. My expectation is that Outman, suffering the dreaded “sophomore jinx,” will be sent down to get full-time action in OKC, since he has options. Outman is outplaying Taylor, but the brass wants to give Taylor a chance to work on his offense. It would be hard to DFA a valued veteran with his contract, and even if he isn’t hitting, the versatility on defense is helpful.
Taylor’s presence is also blocking Vargas. It may take an injury or two for Miguelito to get another chance in the majors.
