We Will Never Mention This Again…

Trevor Bauer: We shall never speak of this again… well, at least not much or not very soon. The appeal process will begin and there will be a lot of machinations and posturing and misinformation. In fact, once the suspension was announced, I stopped believing anything. The MLB PR Machine has cranked up. We hear there may be a third accuser. Was there really a second accuser? You are free to do whatever you want, but I will not believe one thing the media or a blog says UNLESS I HEAR IT WITH MY OWN EARS. The misinformation mongers are out in full force at the behest of Rob Manfred and MLB. This is where the disinformation really starts. I can’t believe either side right about now.

There will be an appeal – we will see where that takes us, but after that, it is more likely that we see a lawsuit by Bauer served upon Manfred and MLB… if he loses. This is not going away easy or quick. It is likely to get really ugly. Then, there is the possibility that someone gets paid to say that “Yes, Bauer did that to me too.” Yes, that could be true. It could also be a lie. They do stuff like that in politics all the time. There’s a trial starting in a couple of weeks that may lay bare that kind of lying. Stay tuned… now quit talking about it! 😉 There is probably a lot we don’t know… and we don’t know if what we don’t know is even true. This has the potential of being the biggest debacle in MLB History! Thank you, Rob Manfred! Criminal Defense Attorney Sara Azari explains the problem with what Manfred just did. I will predict (without all the info) that MLB and Manfred will lose and be disgraced! Watch and Learn.

I for one, am sick of it, but it ain’t going away. I never cease to be amazed how with some people, as soon as they swear an oath, the truth stops! At any rate, at this juncture, we know what the Dodgers rotation is made up of and there is no Trevor Bauer on the horizon. Buehler, Urias, Kershaw, Gonsolin, Anderson, then Heaney, maybe May (in August), Pepiot, Miller, or Knack (the last three being long-shots, except Pepiot. The Dodgers are #1 in starter ERA and just .03 behind the Tigers in Bullpen ERA. The Dodgers are a half run a game ahead of the Mets in Team ERA at 2.14 – they have a 0.97 WHIP and the league is hitting .186 against the Dodgers. Heaney should be back, but Tyler Anderson has a 2.55 ERA. All of the Dodger starting pitchers have an ERA of 2.65 or below. Right about now, I am pretty happy with the Dodgrs starters and Anderson and Gonsolin have the promise of getting even better.

Tony Gonsolin throws too many pitches. That we know. He knows it too. Julio Urias used to nibble and throw too many pitches as well… until he didn’t. It takes time nd repetition. We have seen flashes of what Tony Catman can do… just give him time. I mean, my God, he has a 1.59 ERA. His WHIP is only 1.18, so lopping of a walk here and a walk there fixes the problem. Patience.

I am not saying that Ryan Pepiot is ready for the rotation, but last night, he went 6 innings at OKC. Here was his line:

  • 6 IP
  • 6 H
  • 2 ER
  • 2 BB
  • 7 K’s
  • ERA is 1.66

Maybe he is not ready to start, but he is ready to pitch out of the bullpen. That said, he will stay as a starter in OKC unless they need him if disaster strikes. If he can morph one of his breaking pitches into a weapon, then he will be a starter. If not, he will be an outstanding reliever. Speaking of outstanding relievers, should we not call the Dodger Bullpen, “The Nasty Boys?” I think it is appropriate as all their stuff is “NASTY!”

Minor League Notes & Notables

  • Omar Estevez is struggling mightily with the bat at OKC (.108 BA). He might be someone the Dodgers work into coaching or a teaching position, but the door is closing on a MLB Career, absent a miracle.
  • Justin Hagenman is unscored upon in 4 innings at AAA, with 6 K’s. He is a worthy arm, but there are lots of pitchers ahead of him.
  • John Rooney, Mark Washington, Nate Robertson, and Austin Drury combined for a 2-hit shutout at Tulsa last night.
  • Great Lakes improved their record to 9-10 last night as Eddys Leonard continues to heat up (2-5).
  • Diego Cartaya (.167) got a double last night at Rancho Cucamonga. So far his hits have been few and far between. Jose Ramos continue his torrid hitting (.328/5 HR/1.103 OPS)

  1. I will say I liked very much how Bazooka rebounded after last outing.

Reyes pitched very good although everybody is waiting to the shirt button to burst off.

Good to see the back to back good plays in the 9th by Lux. Believe or not, that was a situation in which everyone will think the yipps will resurface.

Hoping we get run support behind Kersh. Sorry to sound somewhat pessimistic. ( in both ends)

  2. As of yesterday, Bauer is persona non grata to me. Other fish to fry now. Lux did a decent job at 2nd last night. Once again they hit some shots that did not go out. The new baseball sucks.

  3. Kudos for old Carol Burnett imagery. “As the Stomach Turns” fits a sleazy real-life soap opera that gets sleazier with each new report.
We don’t just need to “hear” there’s a third accuser. We can read about her (and Bauer’s response) in the Washington Frickin’ Post, so it’s not just something rumored about in the blogosphere. Bauer says everything was consensual. At any rate, the kinky pattern dates back to 2013. Instead of she said/he said, it’s now Bauer’s word against the word of three accusers. That’s a bigger problem for Bauer–and a bigger PR problem and moral dilemma for the MLB and Dodgers, especially here in the “#metoo” era.
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/04/29/trevor-bauer-abuse-accusations/
As the ‘s historic MLB “debacles” go, I say Bauer’s troubles rank below the rampant steroid abuse and, harkening way back, the Black Sox. More recently, how about the Trashtros?

    1. It’s funny how the third accuser started the torrid affair back in 2013 and still sends him dirty text messages that would make a sailor blush. There’s no there there.

Good point Duke, the Astros can cheat, keep their flag and trophy, no suspensions, but Bauer gets a records suspension for have sex the MLB doesn’t approve of. Alex Cora is managing and Hinch is GM’ing. Nothing to see here.

      1. Good point BullPen. Other Asstro cheaters have and will continue to receive boovations at Dodger Stadium. Altuve being the captain. But have we forgotten AJ Hinch who’s visiting now as the Tigers skipper? I haven’t heard a peep but I’m not there. Has he received his deserved shower of boos?

      2. The Columbus woman said Bauer began choking her unconscious during sex without them ever speaking of it first. She said she then told him that she was okay with him choking her “to a certain point,” which was when she looked as though she was about to pass out. After he then allegedly choked her to the point of convulsions in January 2014, when they were in a Cleveland hotel after Tribe Fest, the team’s fan festival, she said he was apologetic in response to her anger that he had violated what they agreed upon.
But then, she said, he continued to choke her to unconsciousness in ensuing sexual encounters. “He’d kind of push it, and kind of push it, and kind of push it,” she said of the choking, “and I’m like, ‘Dude, you got to f—ing listen.’ ”

The woman said she was in an unhealthy mind-set at the time, including suffering from a severe eating disorder, which she now believes led her to rationalize Bauer’s alleged abuse during sex. She liked his company otherwise, she said.

The hearing will flush this out. Everyone here has an opinion. Some will be right some will be wrong but at this point no one here knows the entire story. Like Mark said let’s move on from this.

  4. Your ears? What about our ears? What about our eyes?

    I read this:

“He also defended Donald Trump, spread an anti semetic conspiracy theory, mocked transgender people and defended the Cleveland Indians logo.”

    Despicable Him.

Plaschke is right. Time for the Dodgers to cut ties with this guy…. and extend Turner

    1. More political bullshit. Just stop already. The current dipshit is running the country into the ground and you’re still complaining about Trump? Plaschke is never right about anything.

      1. You don’t like the current dipshit. We don’t like the previous dipshit. Guess we’re even.

        1. Regardless of who you voted for, if you actually like the current dipshit, you are a dipshit yourself. The current dipshit and his family are so corrupt they make the previous dipshit look like a freaking choir boy.

      2. Stop it yourself Bulldogs. Saying someone defended Trump versus saying current dipshit is running the country into the ground is a big leap politically.

        1. It’s not just defending Trump. It’s everything else about the man. It all adds up to him being the anti-Dodger. Get thee behind us!

That guy belongs in our rear view.

          1. I don’t care if some idiot wrote it in some commie newspaper. You could have quoted something else, but you lefties love to be passive aggressive about things.

Don’t bring up things that are political in nature. That quote was like reading a fake news laundry list of your communist manifesto. All the while ignoring that this country is in shambles from your guy.

Screw you Bums. Don’t associate me with what Will Smith did. Talk to me like that in person and then you can.

        2. Not the point you idiots, just stop posting this crap is the point. Just don’t freaking start. There was no reason Badger had to bring up Trump at all.

          1. And you still are not being introspective. You and Will Smith, the actor, made your points in similar fashion.

          2. Idiots? No need for name calling.

That was written in today’s newspaper. Dylan Hernandez. All of Los Angeles read it. Feel free to disagree, but he was just making a point.

          3. Yes, there’s a need for name calling when you’re repeatedly told not to post political crap and you keep doing it anyways.

It doesn’t matter that it was a quote posted in LA Times. A far left commie paper from a far left city.

It was political, don’t post it. If you can learn from your mistake and take ownership of it, you will no longer be an idiot and won’t be called one deservingly.

    2. What?! Whoa!! Hold on a second! Un-friggin believable!

So yesterday you were firmly on Team Bauer and all but accusing several women with facial injuries of trying to extort Trevor Bauer. Somehow a guy who derives pleasure from choking women to unconsciousness and punching them in the face and then suing them into oblivion doesn’t really move the needle of your moral indignation, but heaven forbid, he defends a political candidate on the wrong side of the political spectrum and you point you finger and scream “unclean!! …. heretic!!! ….witch!!! Get thee behind me, Satan!!”

These aren’t principles. This is insanity. Your politics isn’t just one important thing for you. It is EVERYTHING. This is your religion. You understand this, correct? You are a religious extremist. Every event or person is assessed and judged based entirely within the the context of a very strict set of laws set forth in The Narrative. It’s just fucking weird.

I was actually surprised that you even were on Team Bauer yesterday, and commented that you were off the reservation. Didn’t you know this about Bauer? Why do you think the Molly Knights and the Plaschkes and the Noslers have been in an unhinged rage about Bauer since day one? They don’t really hate him because he beat the crap out of a woman. They hate him because he tweeted some vague defense of Bad Orange Man. I can say with absolute certainty that if Bauer’s social media had the requisite #BLM hashtags with the little multicolor emojis and his profile image was of him wearing a mask with a little “I Stand With Ukraine” slogan the response by the Molly Knights and the Plaschkes and the Noslers … and you … would be diametrically different.

      This isn’t healthy.

In my small little cycling community here in Orange County I know quite a few folks with different political allegiances. I’m pretty close with the Rubensteins, and have been very touched by their care and compassion and decency to my close friend and housemate as she goes through her struggle with stage IV cancer. They invited us over for Thanksgiving and I was very touched. I rode with him today. I know he’s very firmly to the left and has strong feelings about politics. I’m not going to agree, but I’m not going to let political differences in opinion overshadow his decency. I don’t even bring it up. My fear is that he’s like you. That, for him, politics is EVERYTHING, and a difference in opinion will ruin a good relationship. I don’t think he’s a bad person. Just the opposite. I think he’s misinformed, and influenced by the news he consumes. I don’t want to judge him solely on that.

Our political climate is just toxic and dysfunctional. This is why we agreed overwhelmingly not to talk about politics here. Yet you persist. I’m curious, why? What do you hope to gain? I mean, everyone knows you’re a Progressive. I get it. Why the need to constantly remind us every chance you get? I don’t care. Your political takes are not insightful, they’re just boilerplate talking point drivel and just give me a headache.

      No politics
      NO POLITICS
      NO PO-LI-TICS

Ok, one more semi-political thing. I have to share. The official U.S. Ministry of Truth Twitter account is AWESOME!! Enjoy before it gets banned for “disinformation.”

  5. My dream match-up is watching Daniel Vogelbach vs Reyes Motonta while I’m eating at a buffet.

  6. Damn Mark, these minor league updates are just awesome!

It’s crazy that we run out of pitching every year. Pepiot and Miller might be able to help. Jackson, the forgotten man, needs to get some work. White could probably start on many teams. Burroughs and Taylor might turn it around. When you have so many options, one or two might just show up when they’re needed.

Clayton is going to set the all time strikeout mark tonight. It’s going to be fun watching it in front of the Dodgers faithful. I sure thought he was injured during the offseason.

Did I mention how much I detest Manfred?

Patch is awfully quiet after his team lost two in a row.

The Angels have the league’s top offense by OPS, but the Dodgers are still best by runs per game.

The Dodgers have the best pitching in the league and it isn’t even close.

Lux made a couple of great plays, crickets. He throws one away and he has the yips and needs to be an outfielder.

This team is just warming up and hasn’t even come close to hitting it’s stride yet. I just hope the pitching holds up until all those minor leaguers work out their kinks. This is a very special team.

I know all the closet Giants fans think they’re going to replay last year, but it just isn’t going to happen. Watch and see grasshoppers. They’re gonna be buried by the all star break.

Superman Joc just went down with a groin problem. That’s going to be enough to cool him off, I’ve seen this before. He’ll return as the Joc Pederson we all know too well.

Brandon Crawford isn’t ever going to be A-Rod again and Posey is retired. Ruf is back to being a journeyman. I’m more concerned with the Padres and the Rockies. I see a fourth place finish for the Giants. You heard it here first.

Our Bullpen is second in the league right now even though two or three of our best bullpen arms are on the IL and our closer can’t get into games because there aren’t any saves situations. This pen will be historic!

The offense is running like a v12 in need of a tuneup. Enough to get the job done, but just wait until they’re firing on all cylinders.

    1. I do not judge Lux by his errors. Everyone commits errors. It is the Yips and he was never in a position where that came into play last night. He made a couple of good plays… one that Muncy would not have, but that CT3 might have. The Yips are manifest in that “look” and the “short arm” or “awkward throws.” I know it when I see it and so do you. Yesterday on his blog Jeff Dominique said “Lux plays better when he doesn’t have to think.” I want to see him succeed. I want to see him not to worry for a while.

      1. Mark, my point is this. If he makes several plays that others can’t make in between the occasional errant throws, we still end up on the plus side of the ledger.

I understand your stance on this. Let him have less to worry about and focus on the bat. CT3 might be a better infielder right now and Lux’s wheels may just make him a better outfielder.

For a guy that thinks strategically, I’m surprised you would make the move to favor the short run at the expense of the long run.

Ironically, I admire Doc’s handling of Lux and you, who’s often the one to defend Doc, disagrees with him.

  7. Stop fat shaming Moronta! He’s in shape, round is a shape! His jersey looks loose compared to the one he wore in his first outing. Maybe he went on the no dairy diet, he eats the cow instead!

I’m starting to really love this guy. I think I have an affinity for the David Wells body type. Bartolo Colon would be proud.

    1. Mickie Lolich never looked like an athlete. He was a pretty good pitcher. Skinny, fat, so long as they get people out I like them.

  8. I thinkTB’s suspension was horribly extensive but I’m not at all surprised. It’s time to
move on from the situation and enjoy the salary relief.

I’m also fairly certain the Dodgers FO and legal team were in constant contact with the commissioner and probably lobbied for the extensive suspension. They don’t have to take TB back and avoid the PR nightmare with fans, avoid the difficulty of re-introducing TB back into the clubhouse.

The appeal process will take a great deal of time and TB will never pitch in a Dodger uniform again and the Dodgers brain trust is good with that.

    1. His suspension may be excessive, but, you’re right, it probably works out best for the Dodgers now. They can write off his salary and move on. As far as his pitching performance, he’s really superfluous now, probably won’t be as effective with his long layoff and without the sticky stuff, and his persistent legal messes and controversy will just be a hindrance to the team. AF made a mistake. No big deal. Move on. Don’t compound the mistake by having him back on the team.

  9. Genius or chicken, Manfred is deferring to arbitration to decide if Bauer returns to baseball. Harder for those who are sick of Bauer to complain that MLB allowed his return.

Those of us that stood behind Lux staying at second seem to, for now, have more vision than those who only see yips.

    1. Bums,

You may be right. I looked up the definition of “vision” and here is what it said:

something seen in a dream, trance, or ecstasy; especially : a supernatural appearance that conveys a revelation, a thought, concept, or object formed by the imagination

If you use all of that I am sure you will believe that Gavin Lux can also fly!

      1. Nope, I’m using the definition you were using in multiple Posts. Or, are you now saying that all the times you referred to vision versus sight was imaginary versus real?

Stop digging Mark. You are in a hole on this one. It happens.

  10. One final word on Trevor Bauer:

He is not a person I would like to be around. I admire only his work ethic.

If he did what these women allege, then being kicked out of baseball is not enough. He needs to be in prison.

OTOH, if he is not guilty, those women should be in prison.

Ponder this: I personally know of a High School Principal who was accused by two Freshman Girls of Fondling them. A few days later, they admitted it was not true. They were just mad at him for something at school. The only problem was that they admitted the truth too late to prevent his suicide! False accusations happen and they frequently ruin lives too.

    1. I have little doubt these women are as despicable as Bauer is. It takes 2 to engage in that tango. But it’s my opinion MLB likely has their ducks lined up on this. They’ve sure had enough time to investigate. It’s also my opinion the Dodgers have seen enough. This is, hopefully, an opportunity for them to get out of a bad contract and distance themselves from this unsightly business.

      1. I am pretty sure, no one is lining up on his side.

I am also aware that all of what MLB is propounding could be bogus.

        1. Bogus? Lawyers are handling this, not Manfred. They’ve had months to work on it.

Are you saying it might be a ruse to make them appear tough, but they will compromise on the appeal?

    2. Ponder this:

      Guilt or innocence is immaterial.

      It’s never been material.

If a player recorded himself shooting up with an undefined substance, then having sex with multiple women. Burned a couple of bibles. Shot an Uzi at a cord of wood and then then shot up those women up with the same substance. He would probably be innocent in a court of law, never arrested and still suspended by MLB.

Equally, your anecdote has no relevance.

  11. If the Bauer suspension is ruled to be retroactive to June of 2021 on appeal, do the Dodgers recoup the money paid to him during 2021 and the beginning of 2022?

    1. There is a lot to be decided, but I will give you a “definite maybe.” How’s that? 😉

What part of Ohio are you in?

        1. I was born near Dayton. Lived in Ohio for 24 years.

Very familiar with Columbus. 40+ years ago we used to frequent a Polynesian restaurant on Broad Street (Kon-Tiki or some such name). There also was a restaurant downtown called The Water Works. Long ago…

  12. Write this down, don’t forget:
If Lux doesn’t make another mistake on his throws to first base until September, then he’ll show up again with his narrative of Lux and his yips.
It will be crouched, like a hunter, waiting for the right moment.
    Dominique said: get over it!!!

    1. If that is what you believe, I feel sorry for you. I won’t waste any time explaining something to someone whose mind is already made up. After all, you are entitled to your own beliefs… just not your own facts.

  13. I wonder if the Dodger’s FO made a deal with MLB. They would pay Bauer his 2021 salary without complaining in return for two years of salary relief and no PR hit or legal consequences for having to decide whether or not to release him.
BTW if you haven’t read Jeff’s latest post about Amaya you should. It looks like there is another good option besides Turner or Lux for our future SS.

    1. So you think the Dodgers made a deal with MLB about Bauer’s money? So the Dodgers would agree the pick up Bauer’s salary for the time he was on “Administrative Leave”(and Manfred and his minions stalled and delayed under the spin of continuing to investigate) for 129 games. I have that at $26 million. So the Dodgers quietly eat the $26 million to save $64 million due Bauer for 2022 (minus 18 games) and 2023. I actually think that sounds like a pretty good deal when you include the fact that the Dodgers are freed from having to deal with Bauer’s future. He’s suspended and the Dodgers can quietly walk away – for a $26 million dollar fee.
Is that legal? Can 2 parties make an agreement about another man’ money, where they agree to pay him a smaller portion of his contact to save a larger portion by rigging a suspension versus administrative leave. I can’t imagine that’s legal.
I also heard that MLB tried a form of legal extortion with Bauer’s suspension. As a plea bargain, if Bauer agreed to the 2 years suspension he would have been given credit for the 111 games he missed in 2021 and 18 for 2022 ie. 129 games. So he could return after 195 games. Bauer said shove it, I’m making no deals because I’m innocent.
However the deal went down, I suspect the Dodgers are happy to pay $26 million to put this behind them. At least for now before arbitration, negotiations and lawsuits.

      1. I think the Dodgers are just happy to get this result. Why make a stink about recouping the money from the administrative leave thing?

They’re thrilled to never speak of Bauer again. Eating that money is a small price to pay to be rid of that mess.

  14. Regarding Ohio Dodger’s comment above, I don’t think there is a possibility that the suspension can be ruled retroactive to June 2021.

The panel either decides to let it stand the way it is, or reduces it, but any ruling would only be from yesterday on. I don’t think the paid leave can be altered since MLB’s ruling was that the suspension begins yesterday.

Anyone who knows the rule book better than I do want to disagree with that?

  15. Bums brings up a good point.

MLB has spoken to Bauer through this process and knew all along that he wasn’t going to accept any lengthy suspension, or maybe even any suspension, regardless of length, at all. I read somewhere that Bauer would not agree to anything that took his right to appeal.

So MLB, throws the book at Bauer, and gets to look good to the “Me too” crowd and gets to avoid any accountability by letting the arbitrators settle things. They also give the arbitrators a starting point of 2 years to counter Bauer starting point of no suspension, and now the arbitrators get to see how to get to the middle with both parties saving face.

  16. Watching the Dodgers so far, I can’t see ANY team beating them in a best of seven. Stay relatively healthy and GO ALL THE WAY.

  17. And just one thing on Bauer: whatever he is or isn’t, whatever he’s done or hasn’t done, this has to be taking an devastating toll on him mentally and emotionally and finally most probably physically. In the end his own reckless behavior is to blame. It seems most people have had enough, and I can’t fault anybody for that reaction, given his own seeming lack of empathy for anybody. May all the truth come to light and the pieces fall where they may.

  18. Because people don’t seem to know what a political post is, I will break it down.

    I read this:

“He also defended Donald Trump, spread an anti semetic conspiracy theory, mocked transgender people and defended the Cleveland Indians logo.”

    Despicable Him.

I read this in the paper today, so it must be true.
He defended Donald Trump. This is a horrible thing? Why, because you like him? Half the country likes him and if you think the Democrats cheated in the election by mass mailing ballots to everyone because of COVID, but still let everyone go to Costco, then more than half the country likes him.

spread an anti semetic conspiracy theory – This is what comrad Dylan is hashing up again and Trevor’s response.

Checked Twitter to see a bunch of people making ridiculous accusations.
    1) I wrote BD 91.1 on the mound. It’s a personal thing of importance to me.
    2) it’s completely unrelated to the senseless tragedy we endured on September 11 and it pisses me off that anyone would think that

So, you are basically perpetuating a lie by reposting it.

Here’s how he “mocked transgender people”

One of Bauer’s offenses was making a transphobic joke, which will need explaining for those who aren’t “extremely online.” Nikki wrote to Bauer, “Maybe you should act like the PROFESSIONAL you are, and like the 27 year old MAN you are, and not harass me for 14 hours. You are a horrible human.”

Bauer responded, “I identify as a 12 year old. This is 2019. You have to have empathy for my situation. Those are the rules”.

Wow, he told a bad joke and this being framed as mocking transgender people? No he made a bad joke to a transgender person. Big freaking deal. Most everyone here says shitty things to others on this site. I don’t care if they are in a protected class. Being shitty is being shitty no matter who the target is.

And I don’t need to comment on the Cleveland Indian logo that I had on my little league u8 team.

That was a very misleading politically charged quote that greatly exaggerates Bauer’s missteps as crimes against humanity.

You are an idiot for reposting it and most of all putting any kind of backing towards it as some kind of truth. So FU and your political posts. We all agree not to post political nonsense, but you keep doing it under the guise that it was just a quote. You are a hack and a fool if you believe you’re bullshit. I don’t.

    Now stop doing it.

    1. It wasn’t political. It was social. You’re the only one flipping out about it. Chill out BP.

  19. “He also defended Donald Trump, spread an anti semetic conspiracy theory, mocked transgender people and defended the Cleveland Indians logo.”

That is a hit job by Hernandez. Very long on accusations and short on substance. People who have no cogent argument love that stuff.

    It was pure drivel!

    Stop it now.

  20. The advise the other day was. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. At the very least Bauer is an absolute idiot and a pervert for putting himself at risk like this. It’s his own doing and I don’t feel the least bit sorry for him. We’ve got lots of great players and guys to root for. Glad to be rid of him!

    1. That was pretty much what both Dylan Hernandez and Bill Plaschke said in their columns this morning. And I agree. Bauer may not be guilty of any crime, but I do believe it’s time for him to go.

  22. Bobby Miller starts for AA Tulsa tonight and Kendall Williams, part of the Ross Stripling trade who was recently promoted from Rancho starts for A+ Great Lakes.

  23. Enough Bauer BS! It’s in the hands of three individuals and a possible court case for the immediate future of Trevor. I’m sure both sides will come well prepared with their arguments and possible witnesses. We all have our opinions, but there’s not a DAM thing we can do about the ultimate outcome. Move on!!!

  24. Hey Mark, I agree with BandP. Your minor league updates are great. This is a lot more work for you and I want you to Know that I, for one, appreciate it.

If you looked at the stat sheets for the Dodgers’ starting line up, before last nights game, you would have seen 2 players with a 0 in the HR column. Thankfully, Justin and Chris got rid of those 0’s last night. Let’s hope that those HR’s are the 1st of many more.

  25. DODGERS RECALL ZACH MCKINSTRY, SELECT CARSON FULMER

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry, selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Carson Fulmer, optioned right-handed pitcher Andre Jackson and placed right-handed pitcher Mitch White on the Covid IL.

McKinstry, 27, will be recalled for the third time and he is 0-for-1 in one game with the Dodgers. In 15 games for Oklahoma City, he is batting .361 (22-for-61) with three doubles, four triples, one homer and 10 RBI. In two Major League seasons with the Dodgers, he has hit a combined .217 with 10 doubles, seven homers and 29 RBI. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in 33rd round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Central Michigan University.

Fulmer, 28, has appeared in eight games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting a 2.31 ERA (3 ER/11.2 IP) with 12 strikeouts and an opponents’ batting average of .128. The former Vanderbilt alum has spent parts of six Major League seasons with Chicago-AL (2016-19), Detroit (2020), Baltimore (2020) and Cincinnati (2021) and he is a combined 6-9 with a 6.41 ERA (93 ER/130.2 IP) and 118 strikeouts in 74 games (15 starts). He signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on December 8, 2021.

Jackson, 25, did not appear in a game in his first stint with the Dodgers. In three starts for the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate, he went 0-0 with a 0.84 ERA (1 ER/10.2 IP) and nine strikeouts. He made his Major League debut last season with the Dodgers, appearing in three games, allowing three runs in 11.2 innings, and striking out 10. He has been with the Dodgers organization since being drafted in the 12th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Utah and he is a combined 15-12 with a 3.43 ERA (110 ER/288. 2IP) and 327 strikeouts in 68 minor league games (64 starts).

White, 27, has appeared in four games for the Dodgers this season, going 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA (4 ER/8.0 IP) and eight strikeouts this season. In three seasons with the Dodgers, he is a combined 2-3 with a 3.59 ERA (23 ER/57.2 IP) and 59 strikeouts. The Northern California native was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Santa Clara University.

      1. Wow, totally unexpected. Bad news for someone on the 40.

It’s interesting that Fulmer went to the pen and Burroughs is still a starter.

  26. I just heard (from a good source) that MLB offered Bauer “Time Served” and he said “FU.”

So, they threw 2 years at him knowing full well it will not stick. He is the only one suspended under this policy who has not agreed with the findings and accepted what they want.

    The ONLY ONE!

I can see all kinds of issues here…

In fact, I can see it reduced to “time served” – but Bauer will not accept that either.

  27. Fulmer was on same Vanderbilt team as Walker and was drafted before. I’m thinking Carson will be given a chance to start at some point. This could be another great signing by Friedman!

    1. That is possible, but I think they see him starting fresh as a bullpen power arm!

  28. This is not the greatest lineup of all time. 4 starters down around the Mendoza line, including their 300 million dollar superstar. Lux, and Taylor and now Bellinger again slumping. Bellinger 0-19 since being selected player of the week. Losing to the Tigers? Out hit 10-4? Please. And Roberts made a blunder in my mind. 2 on one out, Barnes due up. Two lefty bats on the bench, one a power hitter who could get them close with one swing and he sticks with Barnes who on the first pitch grounds into an inning ending DP> DUMB EFFEN BASEBALL DAVE!
