In 2020, the Dodgers played just 60 regular-season games. As of right now, the Dodgers have played 91 games, so if you struggle with math (5 out of 4 people do), that means there are 71 games left. That means the Dodgers can almost treat this like 2020, henceforth! The season is not now so long and they can “sprint” to the finish line. But will they? I think they have already “flipped the switch.” There is no mistaking that the Trevor Bauer situation looms large and I have read so many pieces that have him dead and buried.
Major league players, bloggers, and fish hacks alike have “assumed” that the dots have been connected, but my question is “what if Bauer did not do the damage to her face?? What if that is part of the “set up?” Now, I am in no way condoning violence toward women, but what if Bauer was not violent? You have to take accusations like this seriously… but you also have to verify… and from the beginning, I have had extreme misgivings about this case.
Yesterday in the USA Today, Bob Nightengale wrote this:
Technically, Bauer could be eligible to pitch again as early as Friday.
Realistically, he has thrown his last pitch of the season.
It must be wonderful to be psychic like that. Nightengale doesn’t know any more than you or I. “We’re not really sure what’s going on there,” Dodgers All-Star third baseman Justin Turner told USA TODAY Sports. “We’re just going to show up every day with what we have in the clubhouse and find a way to win ballgames.
“The distraction is outside our clubhouse. We get paid to win baseball games.’’ That is the mindset the Dodgers absolutely need to have.
“I know right now it looks a little bleak in the starting rotation,’’ Dodgers All-Star pitcher Walker Buehler said, “but Andrew has never been afraid to get guys to help us. I don’t want to talk about (Bauer). It is what it is. It’s out of my control.
“We’ll strap it together, and put it together, whatever we have to do win.
“Right now, I wouldn’t bet against us.’’
I think the Bauer issue will be resolved (one way or another) by early August… maybe as soon as next week, but I think the Dodgers have the solutions in-house. Clayton will be back next week, JoJo Gray will get called up, David Price will join the rotation, and then there is Ryan Pepiot! It seems to be lost on a lot of fans that Mitch White pitched six (6) scoreless innings on Monday for OKC and only threw 75 pitches. I think there’s a 50-50 chance that Bauer pitches again this year. Text messages can be interpreted in a lot of different ways. I am keeping an open mind. If Bauer did what she has accused him of, he needs to go to prison, but if she is fabricating this, she needs to go!
The Police and MLB Investigations are separate, but they are evidently being accomplished in the right way: Out of the Public Eye and we have no leaks of details. That’s how it should be done.
The Dodgers, as a team, have to prepare that Bauer will miss the season and focus on the game at hand. I believe that Corey Seager will be back soon (as in very soon). He will struggle as Cody Bellinger has, but this team’s offense is going to gel at the right time. As bad as Gavin Lux has been, he has not been that bad. He has improved over the last year. He has two grand slams. Progress is not linear (I have to keep telling myself that).
I honestly do not believe that this team needs anything. I would make at least one trade and that would be to part with Austin Barnes. Someone needs a good catcher and he is a good catcher… maybe not a #1, but a good number two. Keibert Ruiz will bring bat-to-ball skills that the Dodgers desperately need. Maybe or maybe not Will Smith will play some at 3B… or maybe that is next year. I would not trade for another starter, position player, or bullpen help unless it involves the Barnes trade. However, Andrew Friedman has never listened to me. Not once!
News, Notes & Predictions
- With Kershaw eligible to return next week, the rotation looks like; Buehler, Urias, Kershaw, Ginsolin, and Price with JoJo Gray in the mix.
- If Max Scherzer is traded he will be traded to the Giants. Book it! They can afford to overpay! They might not flame out…
- If you think Cody Bellinger can’t come back to his MVP Level, look no further than Jonathan Schoop of the Tigers. In his first 115 AB’s he had a slash line of .185/.217/.250. Since then he is .320/.368/.567 with 14 HR over 253 plate appearances. Ths kind of stuff happens all the time in baseball.
- Coles Hamels is holding a “shoecase” on Friday. The Dodgers are allegedly interested and will be there. He has been healthy and is building up arm strength. I would be down with a move like this as insurance.
- The All-Star Game is a farace! So, it Robber Manfred!
Down on the Farm
- The Bazooka got his first save last night – a 4 out outing.
- Mike Busch hit a 3 Run HR for Tulsa and Miguel Vargas was 2-5 (.275 BA/.877 OPS).
- Jake Vogel continues to bash at RC. He was 3-6 last night.
- Tonight, I am going to see the Indianapolis Indians play the Omaha Storm Chasers. I have two tables for four right in the CF Mezzanine. Each $75 ticket includes a hot buffet meal (which is not 5 Stars, but aint bad) and drinks. It’s the best ticket in town!
A Look Back With Logan White
A few days ago, I ran across an interview LADT had with Logan White 10 plus years ago. It’s fun to look back and see what has happened to all the players we discussed.

Well stated Mark, these hacks like Nightingale love to write things through their own political slant. People are tried and convicted through the media and social media platforms and news reporters create stories based on ideology instead of facts. I can hardly stand any news channels these days because none of it is objective and all of it is brainwashing on both sides. None of the “newspapers” write articles without slant. They write articles to try to convince you what they want you to think. Don’t accept anything you read on face value is my only advice.
If you are interested in Bauer’s situation, read this.
https://www.wseetonline.com/rs/2021/07/13/trevor-bauer-accuser-boasted-about-getting-in-the-dodgers-pitchers-head-after-he-lost-two-games/
It is the most complete picture of this situation with all the texts and screenshots and it clearly demonstrates that this is a setup by a very unstable person.
As discussed yesterday, any and all injuries could have happened at her request and could have happened after she left his house. It sounds very fishy that she would drive from Pasadena to San Diego while concussed with two black eyes (Just a short jaunt of 128 miles through daytime SoCal traffic). It smells very fishy that she would pass 50 Emergency rooms before going to one at the suggestion from her Alcoholics Anonymous Sponsor. It looks very fishy that she was employed by the Padres and had a sexual encounter with Tatis Jr. If you consider the facts, any reasonable person can conclude that this is a fish, no doubt about it.
You can see from the testimony that claims filed by the women in her police testimony conflict directly with her text messages. She filed the testimony under penalty of perjury, so she can and should go to jail for that.
Because she was a former employee of the Padres and also had a sexual relationship with Tatis, this is NOT a clear cut case for MLB to make a statement on. This is much more complicated than EVERY other case that MLB has been involved with in the past. Add on the fact that a CBA negotiation is upcoming only adds to the complicated mess this is.
Bauer opened his wallet and hired an All-Star legal team. “His attorney in California is Shawn Holley, a member of the legal lineup that worked with famed lawyer Johnnie Cochran to defend Simpson”. As Mark pointed out, her legal team specializes in extorting settlements in cases like this. This is akin to the Dodgers playing you son’s little league team.
It doesn’t help that the accusers friend disclosed text messages between the two of them because she felt that this was wrong. Break that down for a minute. Her friend, a fellow women and a fellow “Pad Squad” member felt that this was fishy enough to turn in those incriminating text messages to help protect Bauer because she felt this was unwarranted.
It’s completely predictable to see how this is going to turn out in the criminal case. There will not be any kind of criminal conviction here. The only thing to really worry about is Manfred’s Kangaroo Court.
I would imagine that Manfred hasn’t been getting much sleep lately. He knows that he completely botched the Astros situation and now he’s dealing with what looks like a setup by an employee and player from one team, to a player on another, in the same division! I was pretty shocked to learn that she was still in contact with Tatis while she was trying to destroy Bauer’s life.
I also found it very curious that Stan Kasten’s comments on the situation were so flippant. We all know that he knows more than all the information that’s been reported to the public.
Any outcome is possible here as far as the pending suspension goes. I have no confidence that Manfred is capable of doing the right thing. But, the clock is not on Bauer’s side.
Free Trevor!
Manfred is a joke!
Ms Hill is a joke!
This whole incident is a lie, a set up, and quite frankly, should not have even been made public.
Lastly, we should have known, signing TB probably means adding drama along with him. So, this is not surprising to me.
Short, sweet and well put.
I agree. This will probably settle and settle soon, but then it’s into the bozo world of MLB and their edicts/judgements.
I also think you have to think worst case on this, and operate under the presumption that Bauer doesn’t return.
If he does, it’ll just be gravy.
PS: Even Bear knows (and I say this lightheartedly) how awful Nightengale is/was and will be
Spirited conversations here. A lot of emotion.
Didn’t watch the game, but read the box score. Combined 3 unearned runs, 2 for 15 WRISP, a lot of people LOB. AL with 12 strikeouts. But, the NL with only 3? That’s strange. Putting the ball in play didn’t work?
Can’t read the Bauer box. My instinct, admittedly biased by decades of real life experience, tells me Bauer is done as a Dodger. I think the players certainly want be distanced from this craziness. We’ll see, hopefully sooner than later.
I still believe we trade for veteran help. White and Gray might be ok, but I don’t believe they’ll save the day. My wife is right, I’ve got the soul of a poet.
Scherzer to the giants. Weird, I had the same thought a few days ago.
It should be easy, and safe for EVERYONE to vote. Clearly the moves being made by some states are not meant to make that so.
right ……. it is SOOOOOOOOO unsafe to require ID. I mean people of color & in rural areas are just too stupid ….. right. F-n ridiculous. HEY, DOES ANYONE HAVE A COPY MACHINE I CAN BORROW?!?!
Good post. You covered all the bases and then some. … Love the update from the farm. Is there still an effort to put an MLB team in Indianapolis?
Re Bauer… well, whatever…. but heading for the trade deadline, Dodgers have to plan now that he won’t be back. Yes, perhaps White, Gray or Pepiot can step up, but I think AF would want a proven starter for the stretch–especially if, as you suggest, the Giants acquire Scherzer. There are various possibilities, and not all are necessarily costly. Remember that Yu Darvish, a rental, was had for Willie Calhoun (and it’s been good for Willie because he probably would never cracked the Dodgers roster). Unless Sherzer is offered, (and I found Roberts decision to start him a bit intriguing) I don’t see any rental out there that is high-caliber. A couple other guys, like Luis Castillo, have contracts that would cost a lot more. Not hard to envision a BFD with Ruiz as a headliner, but I think AF would opt for something smaller.
I’m not sure why you say the All-Star is a “farce,” unless you remain butthurt about how the MLB (and most of corporate America, including Georgia icons Coca-Cola and Delta) has reacted so strongly to how Georgia Republicans want to tilt the playing field to their advantage. I can’t think of another reason, because the all-star game was fine. Great moments from stars like Ohtani and Vlad Jr. Live mics with Freeman and Tatis–it’s just entertainment, after all. And how about that great catch in left by Jered Walsh, a 39th round pick in 1985, No. 1,185 overall. So…what’s not to like?
What’s really the greatest farce in this country now is how, just months after the former guy inspired a violent, deadly insurrection at the Capitol, Republicans are working to undermine democracy nationwide with the big lie.
“Stop the steal”…geez, what a load of Angel Hernandez-quality diarrhea that is. No, actually much worse, because Angel doesn’t blow every call. Only QAnon loonies and other MAGA maniacs think an election result that was certified by all 50 states and weathered more than 60 BS legal challenges (often decided by judges appointed by the former guy) and found legitimate in an investigation by former AG Barr are clinging to the fiction that the election was corrupt. Oh, those people and opportunistic Trumpublican hacks who have embraced The Art of the Lie. Zero evidence of significant fraud. You want evidence of corruption? We’ve actually HEARD THE TAPE of the former guy trying to pressure Georgia’s Secretary of State–a Republican with integrity!–to “find” just enough votes to change the true results of the Georgia electorate.
So who was really trying to steal the election?
Yes, it’s too bad that small businesses in Atlanta lost $$ because the All-Star game was moved. But who is really to blame for that? If the Republicans in the Georgia statehouse didn’t think there would be blowback, they are as stupid as they are corrupt. Isn’t their job to serve and protect the interests of Georgians? In fact, they’ve only shown an effort to serve themselves
Ok Duke, what you just wrote here, aside from it just being a load of pejorative name calling garbage, is an ACTUAL, VERIFIABLE LIE.
You are actually right about one thing. We have actually “HEARD THE TAPE.” In March of this year the Wall Street Journal obtained the actual transcript of the phone call Trump made to Secretary of State Raffensperger. Trump told the Secretary of State that he should focus on Fulton County, that he would likely find evidence of fraud there, but he never told him to “find the fraud.” That was a completely false quote attributed to an anonymous source that the Washington Post didn’t properly corroborate. The Washington Post, as well as the numerous news sources that picked up on the Post’s reporting and amplified it, had to offer a retraction after the actual transcript was made public. But by then the belief had already been crystallized.
This is just but one example among many of how our national discourse and how we frame our opinions is distorted. As Bluto mentioned yesterday, words really do matter. In this case, the subtle distortion of what was actually said and how it is framed creates and entirely different meaning and influences how we see reality. It is done deliberately and with an agenda, and is monumentally dishonest and destructive, and this behavior has been repeated over and over by institutional news sources we are supposed to trust. To the end of your life you will probably believe that Trump colluded with the Russian government to win his election. I just think that’s sad.
I freely admit I lean conservative politically. I try not to make assumptions. To make sense of this world, right now, is VERY HARD. To at least attempt to do so means I have to doubt myself, to question my assumptions, to look for evidence and be a critical thinker. My mind can be changed with persuasive evidence. When I skim your word salad post and see “Trumplican” or “QAnon” or whatever, I immediately know you’re not a serious person and have nothing compelling or persuasive to say.
Hey DodgerPatch,
I’m sure I should have known you to be conservative, but I didn’t.
Would you say you find yourself an outlier? Are there many conservative Dodger fans you have come across ON DODGER forums? Forii?
I’m just curious, and if you’d rather keep that private it’s all good.
I just know my experience is that I rarely encounter any. I actually wish i ran into more. Some of the looney left are just as problematic as the Newsmaxy right. IMO.
You opinions are obviously based on very little actual REAL information. But at least you are a good little sheeple. Good Job!
You make it sound like I’m some sort of exotic alien species.
Other Dodger blogs/forii? I spend most of my time here. Before this, I would spend some time in a blog forum by Craig Calceterra where I got exposed to Woke thinking before it gained critical mass. He was creepy and rather loathsome in his passive aggressive means of advancing his agenda, and the regulars there were obsessed with race and gender.
I gave a synopsis the other day about my impressions of other sites vis a vis this one. Dodgers Nation is inhabited mostly by bros and who don’t have much to say. I’ve posted in Dodgers Digest twice and I was subsequently banned twice, called a “piece of shit,” a “full blown white supremacist” and was doxxed – had my real identity exposed – for basically posting the same stuff I post here. The demographic there is millennial hard left SJW/Woke, and it is an eye opening revelation about the modern attitudes to divergent thought. The comments read like a teenager’s texts, and aren’t well thought out and are barely literate.
I read Fangraphs. I get a sense that the prevailing sentiment there is left, but I don’t delve into it much. I’m not really looking for compatriots in other baseball comments sections.
Both sides are becoming more radicalized, and more extreme vitriol on one side begets more extreme positions on the other. Even the comments sections of right leaning news sites I would frequent that used to be funny, rational and point out the other sides absurdities are becoming more unhinged and angry. I, myself, can feel the pull of those angry, visceral feelings and have to make a conscious effort be be more circumspect.
Yeah, I would agree 100% with the sentiment in your last paragraph. I’m just down for conversation (and what I and my little mind considers intelligent conversation at that.)
You are definitely part of the human species, as far as I can tell.
That said, most Dodger fans I come across are pretty liberal (more liberal than I is probably more accurate.)
But I just assume most of the fans to be liberal. Los Angeles is liberal. Tech and Entertainment industries are liberal. Big cities are liberal.
I was just curious. Thanks!
There are a LOT of working class, Hispanic Dodger fans in Southern California. I would not necessarily characterize them as “liberal.” They may vote Democratic (although that is perhaps beginning to change a little), but they don’t refer to themselves as Latinx. You should ask Jorge Valenzuela down below if he prefers to be referred to as Latinx. I predict his response would something along the lines of, “huh?”
Where did Latinx come from?
I don’t use that term, and you obviously don’t.
It’s amogst the stupidest term imaginable. It’s like “Birthing person” or “Patriot” in the context of those bonkers Q people usage.
Of course there’s a lot of “working class” people (wonder how long that “class” will last). I imagine they mostly trend liberal, but probably not as liberal as the far left.
Just like the “Russian collusion” & the “very fine people” fake quote that is STILL repeated to this day by many, many on the left. All just bullspit.
Okay, I can see that’s it’s hard to keep politics away from here. But, to come up with some long winded political diatribe in response to a 7 word sentence really shows that you’ve dug in your heels and facts do not matter to you. However your party tells you to think, you follow blindly without thought. You are a good Comrade.
I have no need to refute your position because your mind is already made up and no evidence will ever convince you otherwise. I’m actually embarrassed for you for all of your name calling towards your fellow Americans.
Like with the Bauer case, if it smells like a fish, looks like fish and sounds like a fish, it’s probably a fish.
If you want to know if you can trust your source of news that is forming your political opinions, close your eyes and imagine what a “Peaceful Protest” would look like vs an “Insurrection”. Are you gonna keep believing your source for “News” or your lying eyes?
THANK YOU! Wish I had more than two thumbs to UP YOU!
Duke, I haven’t been here that long so I don’t quite know the boundaries yet, but your post was basically 100% political and 0% sports related. So, does this mean Mark allows polarizing and highly opinionated diatribes such as what you displayed here?
Anyhow, I have no desire to rebut anything you said even though I live in Atlanta and my city has been unfairly ridiculed for not being politically correct. You can believe what you want; it’s your right.
Just curious about one thing….why did you not use Duke Snyder’s correct spelling? Why not Duke Not Snyder? Thanks….
TM
This fit in perfectly: “Just curious about one thing….why did you not use Duke Snyder’s correct spelling? Why not Duke Not Snyder? Thanks….”
TM
Guilty as charged!
I am soooooo embarrassed….all these years I thought Duke Snider’s name was spelled Duke Snyder.
Virtue signaling woketard much?
Great comment! Way to add to the discourse.
As are all of yours braintrust. If one does not like the desription, they possibly should not be the “poster person” for it.
Even worse response!
Keep spreading the incoherence.
Actually was the PERFECT response to your “I know you are, but what am I?” post dude.
Consider yourself lucky, Porpoiseboy. The last time Bluto responded to my political post he completely rewrote what I had written, totally changing the meaning, and then presented his distortions as my words. When I called him on his lies he made a feeble attempt at a joke. Since he clearly lacks integrity you can take his posts with a grain of salt.
Man, I am not a huge fan of Trump as a person but one thing he said that is absolutely true, and shown in high definition in this post from Duke, is that the media IS the enemy of the people.
Most everything here is a half-truth, lie, or propaganda.
It really is sad that people actually believe this nonsense.
I think that is really the only way that TB – and the Dodgers – extricate themselves from this mess. That is, that it’s revealed that someone else actually caused the physical injuries to her face and head. That scenario is very highly unlikely – not impossible – but not probable.
The Occam’s Razor scenario is that two deeply flawed people engaged in consensual rough sex and one took it too far and caused serious physical injury that was not agreed upon or consented to prior to the act.
I was reading a description B&P or somebody posted yesterday. She went to seek medical attention on the advice of her AA counselor, apparently. Of course she is a recovering alcoholic in AA. I mean, if you truly want to typecast the prototypical unstable female that a celebrity male ought to stay far far far away from, you have to have add that element, too. …for realism. I wonder if she’s a former stripper; maybe dabbled in porn. Bauer’s an idiot.
That said, as unstable or flawed as this woman might be, any man who derives pleasure from punching a female with a closed fist during intimacy is someone who is even more flawed and someone I don’t respect. Even if the texts by the woman create legal ambiguity around consent, if Bauer did that I’m ready to move on permanently from TB.
I think the responses by the Dodger players were about perfect. I imagine they’ve been coached, which I don’t even object to because they addressed it properly – “I don’t want to talk about him. We need to eliminate outside distractions and focus on the things we can control on the field.” I think Roberts and the Dodger org was caught flat footed when the story broke, but have had some time to figure out how they intend to manage the PR fallout – and it sounds like they’ve moved on from TB. Actually, the sensible responses by baseball athletes makes that embarrassing faceplant by the Vice President over a softball question by Lester Holt even more pathetic. She has the most sophisticated public relations apparatus on Earth at her disposal and she didn’t prepare for a question everyone knew was coming? She’s pathetic.
I’m a progressive but certainly not a fan of Kamala Harris. She’s is a freakin prosecutor. She’s a cop! Kinda hard to stand as a progressive when you’re a prosecutor. It’s a contradiction of terms. But then VP’s aren’t all that important, right? See Mike Pence. His job was that of a scarecrow.
seetonline? Who are they Bullpen? Not saying what they report isn’t factual, but, why them and not a news agency we’ve actually heard of?
I want to know more about Scherzer. He’s my choice. The giants? That makes sense and it concerns me.
Badger, really? That article is full of screenshots of all the text messages. There is no slant written, just facts and you dismiss it because you don’t recognize or like the URL?
Just askin.
No problem, Badger.
A fallacy a mistaken belief, especially one based on unsound argument.
An example would be what you just did. Discrediting the information in the article based on the URL of the website.
The reason I chose to post that URL is because it’s the one that contains all the text messages in one spot and it is written without slant, I can’t find an article from a well known “News Agency” that is written without slant and contains all the text messages. And I find that extremely unsettling.
The text messages are evidence and facts and they show conflicts with her recounts of the incident.
In her complaint, she said what began as consensual sex descended into a nightmare when he allegedly choked her unconscious and sodomized her during their first encounter at the end of April.
text messages sent by the woman to Bauer following the first alleged assault that appeared to contradict her account – with Hill telling the player she had enjoyed being choked during the first sex session and asking him to do it again.
It was meant to show people that her testimony doesn’t match up to the text messages. So, why do you still choose to believe her testimony?
Badger, your progressivism was formed in the 60s. You saw first hand the Vietnam War. You were around during the civil rights struggle, when actual rights were denied to some Americans. You saw the hypocrisy of a war that seemed driven by what even Eisenhower called the “military industrial complex” fighting for vague ideological reasons when there were actual structural problems at home. You were fiercely protective of individual rights, of free speech and free expression. You probably saw on television MLK’s I Have a Dream speech. You were probably in favor of Ellsberg release of the Pentagon Papers because you believed in governmental transparency. You probably saw the dangers of McCarthyist group think and calling any opponent a communist sympathizer.
The progressive movement today bears little resemblance the one you identify with. Oh, it sounds the same on the surface, but it is deeply authoritarian now. When Tulsi Gabbard can totally obliterate Kamala on national TV for her abuses as a district attorney, and then have Hillary subsequently call her a “Russian asset” – and people actually believe it and repeat it – tells you a lot about the Democratic Party today.
Kamala is a female person of color who has fought for social justice issues even as a child. That’s how she’ll be framed, and the big corporate media outlets like Disney are already creating the content that supports the narrative. Anything she did as a prosecutor will be memory holed.
Won’t argue a lot of that patch.
I was raised in a conservative home during the Cold War era. We had several nuclear bomb drills in grammar school. Drop and cover. Adults at that time were filled with anxiety. My father was a Nixon guy. I was young, quite naive and so believed in the communist menace I joined the Marines to keep those bastards from taking over the world. I was lied to, and it cost me. Nearly cost me my life. I know what war is about, and it isn’t ideology. It’s money.
I’m not really political, but my values are based on my life’s experience. I think all politicians are liars, our whole process has been corrupted, but of the two parties I can’t help but arrive at the conclusion one is more polluted than the other. For example, years ago I had this discussion with a certain blogger over the Iraq war. He supported it, I thought it was a made up story and would cost this nation country nothing but misery. It was war based on lies and corporate interests. It was Vietnam all over again. Who perpetrated that? It was Republicans. And Trump? I don’t know him personally but I lived with friends in New York who did and I can say with reasonable certainty he’s always been a liar, a racist and a con man. He hasn’t changed.
And Bullpen I admit I don’t know that URL, but I do know from my own painful personal experience that places like 4chan, 8chan et al are filled with misinformation and read by people filled with hate and anger. Maybe those “screenshots” are real. I don’t know. But I do know from my own experience what it is like to be lied to, and that is why I will continue to question authority.
I want you both to know it’s not my intention to allow our differences to stop conversation, or go off the rails with anger and accusations. This is a time we need discussion. Maybe not here every day, that will be up to Mark. But, I will listen.
As Eric so eloquently put it – “I’m just trying to help.”
It feel like you’re heart is in the right place like with most liberals. Unfortunately, ignoring facts in favor of ideology will seldom lead to the desired result.
Even the comment that your friends in NY say Trump is a racist is beyond rational. NY is about as left leaning as any place on earth. Again, don’t believe your lying eyes…
1976 Humanitarian Award by the National Jewish Health;
1983 Tree of Life Award by the Jewish National Fund;
1986 Ellis Island Award given to Trump, Rosa Parks and Muhammad Ali;
1990 video of the Rev. Jesse Jackson lauding Trump as a friend to minorities and underserved communities. Jackson expressed appreciation for Trump’s support of the Rainbow Push Coalition’s initiative called the Wall Street Project, which aimed to help minority-owned businesses;
1995 President’s Medal by the Freedom Foundation (Washington) for his support of youth programs;
2007 Muhammad Ali Entrepreneur Award;
2008 Unicorn Children’s Foundation Shining Star Award;
2011 Presidential Hero Award by the Lois Pope Life Foundation;
2015 The Algemeiner Liberty Award for contributions to Israel-United States relations.
That’s a lot of awards given to a racist, wouldn’t you agree?
Not to mention, his famous Mar-A-Lago club was the first in Palm Beach to open membership to Jewish and Black folks.
Apparently, like everything else he does, he’s really bad at being a racist.
I think you need to do more homework and stop going to those “News Agencies” that everyone has heard of.
I said they KNOW him.
You forgot his Raspberry Award. It’s listed right there on the same Wikipedia page you used.
Trump’s history of racism dates back to the 70s when the US Department of Justice sued him for discrimination. Since then he has repeatedly appeared in the news around the world over similar controversies. It’s all there and easy to find. I’m not going to list them here. You put it all together and a clear pattern emerges. At the very least Donald Trump plays into people’s racism to bolster himself.
I did notice you said nothing about him being a liar and a con man.
Look, we don’t see eye to eye on this and other issues. I accept that. I won’t insult you as you did me suggesting I didn’t do my homework. I’ve read up on him. And I’ve seen him center stage with power. Gulp. I’m glad he’s gone. Most people around the planet are glad he’s gone. I just hope we can keep him in the shadows where he belongs.
Peace.
ah yes, the inevitable “but I have friends that knew him”
Badger the idea that the Iraq War was perpetrated by Republicans is false. Early every prominent Democrat said before the war that Saddam Hussein was a major threat and had to be removed. They also voted to give the Bush administration the power to do so. Those knee jerk anti war Democrats who voted against it had ideas about how to deal with situation , they were just against war. I can respect different opinions on whether the war was worth it, but not falsehoods about who perpetrated it.
Kamala is a person who slept her way into politics & THAT is not disputable.
Just ask Willy Brown.
He was asked. His response? “Yeah, we dated. So what?”
I guess too bad I cannot directly reply to your NON-response. Willie gave her her start in politics dude. Sorry, but it was totally weak assed and typical for someone on the left to only put what fit their narrative.
Because Willie ALSO SAID
>>Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.”<>According to USA Today, Brown gave Harris a BMW and appointed her “to the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and then to the Medical Assistance Commission – positions that paid her more than $400,000 over five years.” <<
So yeah, the ACTUAL story is MUCH MORE then "yeah, we dated".
Cheers
VP’s are VERY IMPORTANT when you have a prez who spirals further down the Alzheimer’s hole daily.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqYK_g23z6I
A VP that can be controlled is VERY IMPORTANT when Alzheimer Joe is a step away from being Clintoned.
“Being Clintoned.” LOL

I think that the big questions for the second half are the following:
1. Will the big bats come alive? Here I mean Mookie, Belli, and when he returns, Cory. If these three come alive, our offense will be unstoppable. As of now, it’s feast or famine with our hitting. We need to be consistently excellent with our hitting if we are going to repeat.
2. Who will step up to take the place of Bauer and May? I am operating under the assumption that Bauer is out for the season. Irrespective of his guilt or innocence (his stupidity has already been established), he would be an enormous distraction to the team if he resumes playing this year. We were supposed to have the best rotation in MLB this year (maybe in many years). If Price can turn into an innings eater, Gonsolin can return to his pre-injury form, and someone else can rise to the occasion (Mitch White, Ryan Pepiot, Cole Hamels?), we may have enough firepower to complement Kersh, Walker, and Julio.
Strangely enough, I’m not worried about the bullpen. I think they will be solid. Thus, to my mind, it hinges on the two questions above.
I have little confidence in Price. I was fine with him, and Gonsolin, in the bullpen. Frankly for the playoffs I liked what we did last year. It was Urias that closed it out.
Losing May is huge. We have yet to figure out his replacement. Bullpen games must be reduced. Until it’s post deadline, I still look for a trade. It could even happen post deadline but those moves are rare.
patch, we all know you are a conservative. I accept we disagree on most political issues. The QAnon phenomenon is real, and for many it is troubling. And the “Stop the Steal” must end. Nothing was stolen. Trump lost. It’s way past time to move forward. I hope you and I can at least agree on that.
If Scherzer is traded it won’t be to SF it will be to SD. Book it!
That’s just as worse.
We can prevent him going to a rival. Make it so Andrew!
I agree with that!
We can only prevent it if we are willing to outbid the other teams who want him.
For me, there is a limit as to what I would give up to keep Scherzer from SF or SD. I would think that Farhan thinks along the same lines as Andrew when it comes to those things, but Preller has already shown that he is very aggressive when it comes to trades. There would be a point at which I would say “if you want to spend that much in prospects you can have him.”
Okay, the All-Star game, I saw Max Muncy’s at bat, that’s all. Who thought the all-star uniforms were a good idea? Put them in the city connect bag and toss them out. Want to see something weird, check out the city connect uniforms for the Giants, bridge, fog and all.
Most interesting thing to come out of the festivities were Rob Manfred’s comments about limiting shifts, two players between first and second, the other two between second and third, as a restoration to the way the game was played before analytics took over. He indicated that most front offices believe it will improve the game.
He emphasized “non radical changes” leading to what most people enjoyed historically. He played it closed to the vest on the DH, probably wants to use it as a bargaining chip.
Interesting that Manfred called out Stan Kasten for making a flippant comment on the Trevor Bauer situation which apparently lit the twitter world on fire. Yes, it was flippant, but I didn’t think it was that big a deal. So many sensitive people these days. You have to be careful when you try to lighten the mood with humor.
Thought the draft worked with the All-Star game. The Dodgers took 17 pitchers out of 19 picks. The Angels drafted 20. First time that’s happened.
I thought the Dodgers did well. Like their number one pick, tough to find hard throwing lefties with stuff like that.
I really liked Logan White back in the day. Pretty much knew who he was going to draft. He was predictable, but in a good way, very good drafts for the most part. It’s hit and miss with the current group in terms of predicting the Dodgers draft. I’m not surprised they went all in on pitching, but many mock drafts and analysts had them pursuing
hitters. I thought they would look for pitching first.
Still no on trading Barnes. Winter it may happen.
Expect the Dodgers to pursue a starting pitcher. Is Bauer done for the season? No idea. No insight. But a clear indication of what players think is that they are moving forward and expect Andrew Friedman to address the starting pitcher issue at the trade deadline. In Andrew we place our faith and fate.
Jo Jo Gray may provide some help, but still expect the Dodgers to add another starter from outside.
Again, interesting write-up, Mark.
I went to a Dodger game a few years ago and was part of some VIP thing where Tommy was supposed to show up and answer some questions and hang out with us fans. He didn’t show. He was not feeling well or something. Understandable. In his place Kasten showed up. I can totally see him making a flipping remark about the TB situation. In interacting with fans and answering questions, he was very blunt, at times dismissive, even aggressive. He was actually kind of an asshole, a quality that might serve a chief executive living in a world of corporate sharks, but he should not be talking to the media about PR sensitive topics.
Manfred – Commissioner Hunk of Metal – should not be proffering opinions on someone else’s statements to the media.
I don’t think you get to Kasten’s station without stomping on some heads. I have little doubt he and I probably wouldn’t see eye to eye. For the reasons you referenced, he’s probably not the guy you want meeting the public.
SD assholes can trade for anyone, who cares? Scherzer is not invincible!
Jorge, did something really bad happen to you in San Diego at some point in the past? 🙂
Wonder if he had my kind of experience? We used to live in north county SD & I would take the kids to some Pads games. We would park at Fiesta Village & take the trolley over. Both ways, but especially on the way back they were filled with disgusting drunken “fans” who were rude, obnoxious, and crude. F bombs & such dropping all over the place while I had my 7 & 8yrs olds with me. When asked to please refrain I would get either no answer, or an “okay” and they would just continue right on with their garbage. I certainly am not a fan …. especially of their fans.
I went to boot camp in San Diego. A lot of f-bombs there too. Not a fan of MCRD. San Diego is ok though.
We lived in Fallbrook, back door to Camp Pendleton, was a great place to “live”, but the schools sucked there with huge overcrowding. We homeschooled through grade school, then did a “geographical” to go to somewhere we trusted our kids would be safe & well educated. But otherwise it was actually a great life there. The office was in Carlsbad & I was able to surf on the way to work daily.
Cheers
I lived in Fallbrook too. 1972. Worked on a lemon ranch. Cool place, if you were a land owner.
Mark, I actually do love your optimism and level headedness. I want you to be right regarding Cody and Gavin, I really do. I’m a Dodgers fan, so I’m rooting for them. I just can’t get the post season numbers for 4 years out of my head regarding Cody. He was healthy for most of them so what is the excuse for those years?
Nevertheless, I’m open minded and I WANT TO BELIEVE! So I won’t say anything more on these two amigos.
As for not needing anybody to trade for….I still want t least one bullpen stud we can count on to pitch either the 8th or 9th inning, preferably the latter. I don’t trust KJ and I’m pretty sure we won’t have THE MAN who saved our bacon coming out of the pen last year, in the playoffs this year-The Great Julio Urias!
If we didn’t have Julio, we don’t have title. Are you really willing to trust KJ to close all those games that will be close in the playoffs ?
I guess I said enough for now. Looking forward to yours or anyone’s rebuttal.
TM
DodgerPatch, you are on fire today my friend. Your statements are thought out and logical.
Back to baseball.
I am in the minority here about Scherzer. He’s a game changer and I would think that AF would try very hard not to let him go to SD or SF. I’m going to mention ticket prices again. They are freaking ridiculous this year. That’s what a Championship and a Pandemic nets you. If they repeat, the rewards will stay otherworldly next season. I can only imagine what the merch and concession revenue streams look like. Scherzer’s contract, and the associated tax penalties are mice nuts in comparison. Keibert Ruiz is not a must keep prospect with Will Smith already cemented in the position and the Nats have no catching prospects. The stars are aligned if the Dodgers want to pull the trigger.
I’m also in the minority regarding David Price. He owned us in 2018 pitching with a cyst in his wrist. He sat out an entire year and has been used sparingly so far this year. He’s just a year older than Kershaw and a year younger than Scherzer. I don’t see any reason he wouldn’t be able to regain some magic during a stretch run.
The Giants are in a predicament. They have so many expiring contracts that they would really be able to clean up if they were able to sell, but with the best record in baseball they won’t be able to. Their farm is ranked just two spots ahead of Dodgers in Fangraph’s mid-season rankings and SD’s farm is rank two spots below the Dodgers, so they are all in the same neighborhood. It seems like Farhan would like to restock and rebuild for the future instead of dipping into a Farm System that will need to be used to backfill all those expiring contracts. Sure, they can try to win it this year, but the rebuild will be that more lengthy and with no stars on next year’s roster, those post Championship ticket prices won’t net the same pot of gold that the Dodgers got making future competition that much more difficult.
Preller on the other hand is “all in” right now and is spending big in order to keep his job. But, being in third place and with Tatis’ involvement in the Bauer controversy, does he think that Scherzer is going to put his team over the top?
Yeah…. Back to baseball…
I just checked the fangraphs pre draft rankings you mentioned, doubt this draft will move things much, and discovered this:
https://www.fangraphs.com/prospects/the-board/2021-in-season-prospect-list/summary?sort=-1,1&type=0&filter=&pos=&team=lad
We have one guy over 50 and it’s Gray, a player we didn’t draft. Also, all of our top prospects are middle aged. I noticed Joey Bart is too. 24.6. I thought he was the second coming of Jesus Posey?
I’m in on Scherzer. I sure don’t want to face him in our division down the stretch. I don’t care what it costs. It’s Kasten’s money and I hear he’s an a**hole.
Scherzer – I think it’s much less about money than it is about prospects.
Andrew’s past record shows he is somewhat reluctant to trade his really good ones.
Preller, with the exception of his top couple of prospects, will apparently trade anyone.
Now we just have to wait and see if either of those guys is willing to change his MO.
Thanks, but thought out and logical are apparently white supremacist or something and must be dismantled. The Smithsonian even said so.
https://www.google.com/search?q=smithsonian+graphic+white+supremacy&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS946US947&sxsrf=ALeKk01XU7BXHih6sJzLbbSGdUooz9TG5Q:1626289046119&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjj65TnnuPxAhVHsp4KHePZBiIQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&biw=1200&bih=632#imgrc=npHaGxeNexIpFM
I have no idea what AF is going to do at the deadline. I really don’t think he’s going to give up much in prospects. I mean, sure, I’d like to have Scherzer, but realistically?
I think Urias is having close to the breakthrough year we were expecting/hoping, but he still isn’t the lock down guy right now that I’d trust as the third starter in the playoffs. He might have to do, though.
Eric Longenhagen and Kevin Goldstein at Fangraphs had this interesting take on the Dodgers draft strategy:
“While it’s hard to know whether or not this was the strategy before the magnets started coming off draft boards, the Dodgers showed plenty of faith in their well-regarded player development system by using their first nine picks on arms, starting with two prep players and finishing with seven consecutive college selections. While many teams focused, and at times overly so, on strike-throwers during Monday’s flurry of picks, the Dodgers often did the opposite, as any of Maddux Bruns (first round), Nick Nastrini (fourth), Emmet Sheehan (sixth), or Ben Harris (eighth) could end up looking like steals if the Dodgers’ system can get more strikes out of their already plus stuff. This is a fascinating draft class filled with risky dice rolls, but the potential payoff is quite significant.”
Great add STB! I said before that this was a weak draft class. Might as well go for those Risky guys with Big Arms!
I generally do not let the site delve into politics, but it was MLB who canceled the All-Star Game in Atlanta for what are demonstrably false reasons.
To work at the All-Star Game last night, you had to have a VALID ID. To pick up tickets at WILL CALL, you have to have a valid ID. To have an apartment or utilities or a driver’s license at that time and the License becomes the ID. To get welfare, cable, medical care, library books, or if the Police stop you, you MUST have a Valid ID.
But you don’t need an ID to vote? I am not going to say that anyone is stupid, but if anyone tells me that ID should not be part of the voting process, I am going to tell you that if stupid could fly, you would be a jet!
This ain’t going away anytime soon:
https://thefederalist.com/2021/07/09/new-evidence-indicates-enough-illegal-votes-in-georgia-to-tip-2020-results/
The Republicans just want everyone who deserves to vote, to do so. What could be more important than proving you are you when you vote?
Thank you! One add to support that is that over 70% of POC also believe you should have to show ID to vote. Even freaking 3rd world countries require ID to vote. On top of that since people are trying to use GA as some kind of “example” is that in GA to get just a “voter ID” the cost is NOTHING.
Cheers dude
“Incluso los malditos países del tercer mundo requieren una identificación para votar” Quizá quisiste decir “incluso los países del tercer mundo requieren……………………………..”
Did not translate well, I said freaking, the translation said “damn” & I did not say “damn”. And it was only used for emphasis, do I would not use damn.
Cheers
Mark you keep saying that. Who said ID is not required to vote? That’s just nonsense.
The Federalist? Well, on the All Sides bias chart it don’t get any righter than that!
My jaw just dropped, literally. Badger, I live in California and I do not need an ID to vote. Someone in my family had a problem with their ballot this last election because somebody submitted a vote that wasn’t theirs. You are misinformed.
Pick up your jaw Bullpen. You didn’t vote without being registered. I registered to vote by mail when I got my drivers license. The ballot was sent to my house.
This is getting ridiculous.
No it is not. You are HOPEFULLY not purposefully being a bit misleading on this.
You are talking mail-in which is a different animal. Most people still go to the polls & in CA in most cases you ARE NOT required to show any ID when showing up to vote.
right from your sec of state site dude
https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/voting-california/what-bring
The point Badger, is someone voted for my family member. You can figure out if they showed ID or not.
The Dems want to make that into law. No ID to vote.
They also want to federalize elections & take them away from the states completely.
Mark quote from above: “If you think Cody Bellinger can’t come back to his MVP Level, look no further than Jonathan Schoop of the Tigers. In his first 115 AB’s he had a slash line of .185/.217/.250. Since then he is .320/.368/.567 with 14 HR over 253 plate appearances. This kind of stuff happens all the time in baseball.” Really Mark, it’s come down to a Jon Schoop comparison. Remind me, what year did Schoop win the MVP? You can find examples of this all over baseball all the time. And it works the other way as well as Cody is proving currently. We’ll settle up at the end of the season with our Cody opinions. Like I said the other day I hope you are 100% correct. That will be good for the Dodgers and their fans.
Duke the Snider (yes, TM, it’s Snider, not Snyder) your baseball takes are a worthwhile read. Your political takes are just regurgitations from MSM and CNN/MSNBC. If you have read the new Georgia voting rights bill can you tell us what the differences are from the old bill? Can you tell us specifically how the new bill makes it hard for people of color to vote? If not, then you are just another ignorant progressive who parrots the party talking points. I have yet heard anyone from the Dems do this. In fact, the Republicans haven’t been much better. It was MLB that made the decision to harm Atlanta small business owners and make the great accomplishments of Hank Aaron marginalized not the Republican party. I’m an independent who likes to read and research on current events on my own before forming an opinion. Have you read the Paris Climate Accord? Have you read the Green New Deal? Have you read the Black Lives Matter website? I have. It’s quite enlightening to actually read the documentation and then listen to the media twist the information around and make up shit that isn’t even in the document to fit their narrative. To rely on any media sources for the real facts is foolish.
“A cache of social media messages sent by ‘Ms Hill’ to a male friend and seen by DailyMail.com also reveal she previously had a fling with Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr and resigned from the team’s Pad Squad group of ‘brand ambassadors’ when the relationship was discovered.” This is a quote from the link provided above. B&(and)P keeps mentioning the texts provided by the victims girlfriend. The quote above states “a male friend”. An example of the media initially assuming it was a girlfriend. Am I reading this right? Not that’s matters in the big scheme of things. Another example of the media getting the facts wrong and assuming in their haste to be first.
As far as Scherzer goes we should have the best offer between the three NL west teams. With SD they have some very good prospects left and trading one or two would really deplete their system. As mentioned above with SF having so many FA after the season how many prospects can they afford to give up especially after spending the last few years building up their system? We’ll see what happens.
I turned on the All-Star game just as Muncy came to bat. I almost spit out my dinner when I saw that horrific uniform. He looked like the Pillsbury dough boy. Another epic fail by the boobster Manfred. He keeps going down his list on how to destroy the national pastime.
Carry on.
OMG…..you know Ted , after reading your words, i finally decided had to Google “Duke Snyder” only to find out you are right, and his name really is spelled Snider. To think, I have been mistaken for over 40 years and have never been corrected or self corrected.
I’m sitting here totally in shock with egg on my face……
If you had ever just seen his baseball card you would know it was spelled SNIDER. I met Duke years ago at a card show in Orange county. I have a signed 8X10 photo I got from him that day. It hangs on the wall in my apartment. Now, back in 1959 they had a pitcher named Gene Snyder. But everything ever written about Duke has spelled his name with the i.
That is some good stuff. Thanks for that. I think I would only add to your list …… “have you actually studied what “critical race theory” teachers are teaching our kids? Have you seen the large number of people of color who have stood in front of school boards saying “DO NOT teach that shit to my child”? And I would add that ANYONE who gets their information from ANY TV news source is misleading themselves. I trust the Natl Enquirer, TMZ, Radaronline & a host of other supposed “gossip rags” over ANY msm source, right or left.
Cheers
PEW Research report
What voters actually want is increased access to things like no excuse mail-in voting, which makes it easier to vote (and allows you to vote without having to escape work or find a polling station). They want voter ID laws (not necessarily photo IDs, but definitely some proof of residence or identification). They want quick results, so there aren’t weeks of waiting around while conspiracy theories about what’s happening spread online. Voters want low friction, easy access, secure voting in elections where the results come in within 24 hours.
Numbers.
81%. The percentage of registered voters who support showing proof of identification in order to vote.
72%. The percentage of registered Democrats who support showing proof of identification in order to vote.
77%. The percentage of registered Independents who support showing proof of identification in order to vote.
92%. The percentage of registered Republicans who support showing proof of identification in order to vote.
60%. The percentage of all registered voters who say they support requiring at least 15 days of early voting for federal elections.
65%. Percentage of Georgia voters who said they support a law requiring a driver’s license number to verify absentee ballots.
Those are all true figures. HOWEVER, they do not match the “will” of the democratic party and especially those who are supposed to be serving the people in the Beltway. Not to mention those dems serving in some states who also want to give non-citizens ( read that as ILLEGAL ALIENS ) to right to vote as well.
Cheers
What you call the will of the Democratic Party in reality is no bigger than 19% and that far left side might be smaller than the Republican Party’s far right side. If we are ever going to stop all the political vehemence then we might start by not stereotyping the other party.
I read in Fortune that the Progressive Activist group is 8%, the far right is 6%. 67% are the “Exhausted Majority”. This group looks for common ground and has opinions based on situations rather than conforming to strict ideologies. The “Traditional Conservative” group is 19%. We are polarized on many issues and how we find common ground is yet to be discovered.
Oh I TOTALLY AGREE that the “will of the dem party” is being driven by their radical minority. But it also appears the party is allowing that to take place. The biggest loudmouths set the policy & the moderates are afraid to call them out for fear the general populace will assume them weak and divided. All IMO.
Cheers
Of course.
More early voting.
More voting!
Voting should be on an entire weekend or two! Tuesdays are anachronistic in the worst possible way.
More Congresspeople, expand the house dramatically.
More independently drawn districts.
No Primaries and no term limits.
But all of these things take away from the power of the entrenched, so it’s hard to imagine them happening short term.
More voting YES
No term limits NO
The two are unrelated.
We don’t fare well in election integrity. Overall ranking we don’t crack the top 30. We rank right behind Grenada and right above Panama. We can do better. Any ideas? I’ve got a couple.
Hello Fred. Good to see you here!
I don’t like Term Limits, think they drive short term-ism in a profession that should be thinking long term.
My thinking is:
“I’m only here for X years, that’s all I’m worried about”
OR
“I’m only here for X years, but I can go right into lobbying after. So let me do some crony capitalism.”
I think professional politicians has proven to be a colossally bad idea.
Eliminate lobbyists. Get money out of politics. Until we do, all politicians can be bought.
Bumsrap! Where have you been? I can’t believe you came out of the closet to post on Voting Rights before making a case for the Dodgers to make a deal with the Cubs to bring back Joc.
Anyways, all kidding aside. I was wondering where you’ve been and was hoping you are well.
I’m well. Just lost interest in kibitzing the Dodgers, players, ownership, manager, etc. I might toss in some data every once in awhile but not argue with those that won’t let go.
Joc is better off with the Cubs for now although the cold Midwest April coming out of Spring Training in AZ and facing Brewer pitching made might have made him yearn for the Dodgers early on. There is no room in the Dodger outfield especially as Taylor gets more innings there when Seager returns, unless Lux loses innings.
Bulldogs, you are a prolific writer here, why not submit Posts to Mark and help him out keeping a new Post up daily.
I agree with your primary points, Mark.
2 weeks until the trade deadline. TB issues are highly unlikely to be near a clear resolution by then. AF will make a move. Likely one we won’t see coming, if the past is any indication (Machado, Darvish.. ect.). No point is even speculating on the situation, IMHO. What happens will happen. Decisions have to be made under the worsts case scenario for the team (TB won’t pitch again this year). Pretty simple. A trade? Not so simple. But AF has found a way in the past. He will again.
Screw politics. There was a time when I had a list of MSM sources I believed to be reliable. That list is now just a paper with scratched out names, at this point. PBS, NPR, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, OAN, NewsMax, WSJ, WaPost, NY Times, LA Times all have one thing in common. Kool-Aid. Only difference is the flavor being offered. So often these days political discussions are little more than a fight between two rabid dogs over a nothingburger. You can put cheese, unions and special sauce on it all you want. In the end, it is still a nothingburger.
Let the sprint to to October begin.
Well said Jayne.
Bauer administrative leave extended through July 27 according to Nightengale.
MLBTR is reporting that also. To me, Bauer is a dead issue, AF will either trade for a experienced arm or he won’t. If he does not, the solutions boil down to Price, and the kids.
That is or close to the date that the Pasadena Police department has either present their case to the district attorney or not press charges.
