The Raptors play in a short season rookie league. It is easy to forget the Pioneer League as players are so far from MLB and many are fresh out of a recent draft and the Arizona League. They have not yet really surfaced in the parent team minor league system so one has to do a bit of scuba diving below the surface to find them. But, there they are, playing as hard as those in the upper more visible levels.
The Ogden Raptors are working to improve their skills and to return as league champions again having taken a year off after their 2017 championship. Last year they lost out to the Great falls Voyageurs.
This year’s Raptors are really a tale of two teams, as are most teams. The offensive team is working on all cylinders while the pitching staff is missing a beat or two.
The team presently is in first place in the Southern Division with a 4-game lead over the Grand Junction Rockies and a league leading 16-6 record. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games.
The offense leads the league in 11 statistical categories – runs (181), hits (216), HR(32), RBI (167), TB (366), BB (125), SO (192 – fewest), OBP (.401), SLG (.493), (ave (.291), OPS (.894). They just don’t lead in a number of categories, they have far outdistanced the pack in so few games.
The pitching stats are not as rosy. The Raptors stand around 4th or 5th in most categories in an 8-team league. They do lead the league with 232 strikeouts.
Eight 2019 draftees are currently with the Raptors including infielders Zac Ching (10th), Brandon Lewis(4th), Jimmy Titus (22nd) and outfielders Joe Varnesh (15th), Brandon Wulff (17th), Ryan Ward (8th). Recently pitchers Aaron Ochsenbein (6th) and Jeff Belge (18th) were added to the Raptors roster.
Twenty-year-old pitcher Elio Serrano, who had pitched in 67 relief appearances prior to this season, has been converted to a starter and has made four starts with a 3.52 ERA in 15. 1 innings pitched with three walks and 17 strikeouts.
Nineteen-year-old Melvin Jimenez made his first start of the season and pitched 2.2 scoreless innings before hitting his pitch count. On the season he has a 3.21 ERA in 14 innings pitched with a 0.86 WHIP along with five walks and 30 strikeouts
Offensively 9 Raptors have a batting average north of .300 led by Justin Yurchak, Andy Pages, Tre Todd and Sam McWilliams.
Second baseman McWilliams (19th – 2018) has a triple slash of .309/.429/.647, an OPS of 1.076 with 6 home runs and 18 RBI.
Catcher Tre Todd’s (21st -2018) slash line reads .368/.429/.684, an OPS of 1.113 with 3 home runs and 19 RBI.
Eighteen-year-old right-fielder Andy Pages (Int Signing -2018) is slashing .324/.430/.718, an OPS of 1.149 along with a league leading 7 home runs and 23 RBI.
Third baseman Justin Yurchak (Trade – Nov. 2018) is leading the league in a number of categories including Runs (27) RBI (23 tied), TB (52), BA (.397 – tied), OBP (.539), SLG (.765), OPS (1.304).
Andy Pages has been the Pioneer Player of the Week for two consecutive weeks., for the weeks of June 24-30 and July 1-7. His most recent award week was listed in the MiLB web site with the following stats: 6 G, 9-for-22, 3 2B, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 8 R, 4 BB, 3 K, 2 SB, 409/.517/.955.
Pages was not a complete unknown coming into this season having hit 10 home runs as a 17-year-old in the DSL in 2018. He had a terrible start to his 2019 season going 5-31 for a .161 batting average. Since then he has had a 10-game hitting streak with 6 multiple hit games and 7 home runs.
“He put in some really good work with (hitting coach) Seth Conner in the cage,” said Raptors manager Austin Chubb. “We knew it was just a matter of time until he would get hot.”
“He’s definitely deserving,” added Conner. “I think…those pitches he was missing, he’s not missing now. They’ve been giving it, and he hasn’t missed them. I’m really proud of him and hopefully he can keep it going.”
Justin Yurchak is definitely waiting for an opening in Great Lakes and is backed up The 22-year-old has hit safely in 14 of 19 games with 9 multiple hit games including 2 with four hits each. He has struck out 21 times and has walked 21 times.
“Out of all of our guys, and we have a lot who do it well, I think it’s incredible to watch [Justin] manage at-bats and because he doesn’t chase balls and swings at strikes, he seems to always put himself in good opportunities for success,” Ogden hitting coach Seth Conner said. “Actually on the second home run, he was down 0-2 and chased a fastball 0-1 up before that. [Orem reliever Andrew Blake] hung him a slider which he did not miss, but for the most part, he’s constantly putting himself in good counts and giving himself good chances to be successful.”
“He’s been fantastic for our club,” Conner said. “He’s just the ultimate pro. Really, I just think it’s that we have a really good organization. Unfortunately, when he came over from the White Sox, we have a really good guy that’s in low-A, Dillon Paulson. It’s a tough time to be a player in the organization because we have so many good players, but nobody can say a bad thing abut Justin. We all want him to do well and he’s obviously putting up the numbers to put himself in an opportunity for that call-up.
“He’ll manage at-bats and hit at whatever level he’s going to go to.”
The other Raptors hitting over.300 include Jeremy Arocho, Jon Little, Andrew Shaps, Joe Varnesh, and Marco Hernandez.
DC’s Minor League Report
Highlight of the night: Leo Crawford’s complete game shutout
DSL Dodgers (Bautista) 3 – DSL Royals (1) 1
Christian Suarez started and pitched a nice 4 innings on 4 hits and 2 strikeouts. Abel Moya tossed 2 scoreless innings while Edgardo Henrique gave up one run in his 1.2 innings but picked up the win. Jesus Turigo earned a save with a scoreless 1.1 innings.
The Dodgers scored all 3 runs in the 7th inning on a Carlos Santiago 2-run single and a Yohandry Sequora single.
DSL Dodgers (Shoemaker) 9 – DSL Indians 3
Yamil Castillo pitched 4 innings on 8 hits and 2 runs. Samuel Reuben pitched 2 scoreless innings and was followed by Isaac Rodriguez who gave up a third run in his 2 innings. Horacio Andujar finished up with a scoreless 9th.
Offensively the Dodgers rang up 5 runs in the 2nd inning on a Vladimir Perez single, a Jeans Garcia 2-run single, a Brayan Rodrigez single and a Rushenten Tomsjansen home run. Rodriguez singled home another run in the 4th inning and Tomsjansen hit his second home run in the 5th.
Tomsjansen was born in Dordrecht, Netherlands.
AZL Dodgers Mota and Lasorda were not scheduled
Ogden Raptors were not scheduled
Great Lakes Loons were not scheduled
Ranch Cucamonga Quakes 5 – Lake Elsinore Storm (San Diego) 0
Something highly unusual happened in this game. Leo Crawford tossed a complete game shutout giving up 3 hits, walking none and striking out 10.
For run support, rehabbing AJ Pollock started things early with a solo home run in the first inning. In the 2nd inning 2 came across on a Donovan Casey triple and a Miguel Vargas SF. A 4th run scored in the 7th on a Storm error and Miguel Vargas got his second RBI with a double in the 9th inning. Vargas and Casey each had 2 hits.
Tulsa Drillers 2 – Springfield Cardinals 7
Reliever Andre Scrubb started this game and seemed to be bothered by a first play error behind him. He wound up giving up 3 hits and a walk resulting in 2 runs, one earned. Parker Curry replaced Scrubb in the 2nd inning and after a lead off single he retired 18 consecutive hitters. He gave a double in the 8th and was replaced by Logan Salow who allowed that runner to score and left with the bases loaded on a single and 2 HBP. Ryan Moseley closed the inning with no further damage but ran into trouble in the top of the 9th surrendering 4 runs on four hits, albeit only one was earned.
The 2 Driller runs came home on a Carlos Rincon double in the 2nd inning and a Christian Santana home run in the 7th inning.
Santana extended his hitting streak to 10 games with his home run. During the streak, Santana is 18-42 (.429) with five extra base hits and five RBI. Rincon has the longest hitting streak of the season for Tulsa, hitting in 13 straight games from June 4-21.
OKC Dodgers were not scheduled

Current and future Dodger pitchers Kershaw, Buehler, Smith, and Hand gave up all the runs in the All Star game.
On the big stage, naturally.
Maybe Joe Buck is our bad luck charm? We seem to always be a tad off when he’s calling our games
I’m not overly concerned at the lack of production as I don’t think it translates to meaningful games. But, I am a little disappointed that we didn’t have any highlights either. Friday can’t come quick enough. I generally don’t like these couple of days after the game, especially now with the anticipation of getting a couple of guys back.
Pollock homered in his only AB yesterday, so I guess he’s ready now. The boys can take a couple of days off for a mental break and be ready to beat down the Red Sox for a little World Series revenge. I’m looking forward to having the band back together and to see a healthy Pollock play.
Now that the All-Star game is over, the trading season begins. Should start to see some deals go down soon, but the bunch up in the Wild Card standings is keeping a lot of teams “in it”.
Bum at the beginning of this thread, you said current and future Dodger pitchers are you thinking Smith, And Hands may become DODGERS.
Smith and Hand are the two that most have said they want on the Dodgers and both are long shots to be Dodgers.
Since this writing, the Raptors have gone to 17-6.
Andy Pages leads the league with seven home runs and 14 extra-base hits and is tied for the RBI lead with teammate Justin Yurchak at 23 apiece. The 18-year-old from Havana, Cuba, is also second in total bases at 51 (one behind leader Yurchak), in a tie for second with 7 doubles, and in a tie for fourth in runs scored with 18.
Comments from his coaches on his second consecutive Player of the Week award.
“To watch him be able to stay on the fastball and hit the off-speed stuff and continue to do that, it’s impressive,” said Raptors manager Austin Chubb. “I was kind of surprised (about the second honor in a row) but also not surprised because of his work ethic and the work he puts in every day. He’s also come out of his shell in the locker room a little bit, which has been fun to see, so he’s in a good spot right now.”
“He’s just not missing pitches right now,” said Raptors hitting coach Seth Conner. “That kid loves to play the game of baseball. In doubleheaders he wants to play both games – he’s almost upset when he’s out of the game. He understands how he’s going to be pitched. I think there’s a mature hitter in there.”
As was reported here yesterday, 2nd round draft choice Jimmy Lewis has indeed signed his contract. The Dodgers have now signed their first 16 draft selections (and 19 out of first 21). That is a significant accomplishment. His bonus has not yet been reported. I am hopeful that there is enough left to at least make equitable offers to three players.
Braidyn Fink (19th round) – RHRP – University of Oklahoma – Out last year with TJ surgery. The type of high risk-high reward player AF and Brandon Gomes takes chances on. Would he sign for Jack Little money?
Chet Allison (24th round) – OF – Committed to Kentucky – He could certainly raise his draft position, but It is certainly doubtful that he will have as much of an impactful year as he did last year at Fresno CC. Maybe both sides of the negotiating tables can give a little here.
Brennan Milone (28th round) – SS/2B – Committed to South Carolina – It seems implausible that there will be enough available to lure Brennan away from his South Carolina commitment. But it should be (and I am sure will be) considered.
Are there ways to legally tell a draftee that if they sign for less than they want/deserve due to lack of slot money that the team will make up for it down the road? For instance, if you will sign for $200,000 instead of $300,000 we will give you a salary of such that you can make up the difference in 3 years.
I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
No, because if you say that you are still entering a contract with the paying, paying him a prohibited amount. It could rise to the level of fraud, but I will defer to real attorneys.
You’re right Mark. That would not be allowed. Even if you could somehow work out a wink-wink deal, just imagine the risk if the Dodgers were to draft player “A”, sign him to a slot deal with a promise to pay more later. Let’s now imagine player A gets severely injured in a car accident before he ever plays an inning for the Dodgers, derailing his career. How could they possibly explain a substantial payment made to the family at a later time. That risk would be far too great.
At the Loons game right now
OK, give us a full report!
DC….Just curious, why did the Ogden Raptors take a year off after their 2017 championship?
Perhaps not written very clearly. They took a year off from winning the championship, not on purpose of course. They played a full season in 2018 and lost in the semi-finals. I expect them to win it again in 2019 depending on promotions from and additions to the roster.
Sorry, my misunderstanding, not your writing. Glad to hear that and wish them well this year.
I’m getting nervous about the trade deadline. Last night on Dodger Talk with David Vassegh, he asked the question would you be willing to give up Ruiz and more for Madison Bumgarner and would you embrace him. He also said its a sellers market, meaning its going to cost the buyers more than usual.
Even if the Dodgers were interested I don’t think the Dodgers and Giants will be able to make a deal.
I was all for a trade or 2 until I started hearing what its going to cost.
That started last Winter and I will write about it tomorrow.
Anyone who says they wouldn’t want a Bum on their staff is fooling themselves!!!
It’s all about the Benjamins with most players and they would welcome an addition to their staff to win a ring and sweeten their next contract…
I see Bum as a very emotional guy and definitely a grinder.. I’m not saying I’m a Gigante fan but he would be a keeper… I sorta rank him with Will “the thrill” Clark, who I would hate to play poker against…
I wouldn’t mind MadBum the pitcher on the staff based on past ability. But frankly, I wouldn’t want MadBum the person anywhere near this team. Balancing the two, ability and character, I would be a fool and pass on him.
Guess you can call me a fool but Bumgarner is an easy pass for me. I can’t stand that hillbilly POS.
I’m in your court here, Rudybyrd. Someone else said it ain’t gonna happen because they would run Farhan out of town if they Traded Bum or Posey to the Dodgers. I don’t like either one of them, I don’t like any freaking Giants, but I might give a pass to Smith and Watson, but not for K-Bear.
There’s no doubt that Bum put his team on his back and willed them to the promised land, but I don’t expect that happening again and not as a member of the Dodgers. He hates us as much as we hate him.
As far as trading K-Bear for an impact player, I say now is the time. I don’t know who that impact player is, but if it looks like it’s gonna push us over the top, I’m all for it. This is the best team we’ve had and is deserving of investing resources into it. Bauer, Syndergaard, DeGrom – I would trade K-Bear for any of those guys, ahead of Mad Bum. How about Rendon? Stick him at 1B and let Muncy play second full time.
Nice write up DC. Ogden is such a difficult team on which to get a good read on the players. Hitters benefit from the high altitude and pitchers struggle with the same. It’s much like getting overly excited about players from Albuquerque. The stats are always skewed. That said, it still takes some ability to hit over .300 and keep your ERA under 3.00. There is a lot of good young talent in Ogden that I look forward to following as they move up the ranks.
I try to not get too excited but I think Andy Pages may just be the real deal. I know the BA are partially a product of the altitude but I always think if that so it is still best to be the best in the league or near the top as Miguel Vargas was last year.
Anyone know what the rotation will look like coming out of the break?
Will be at Wednesday and Thursday game in Philly.
The MadBum you trade for in 2019 is not the Madbum of 2015 or 2013.
Not even close. Still good, but not great.
The Dodgers have no need for starting pitching.
i agree Mark, also, Zaida knows our farm system up and down, and I don’t think Freidman is too fired up about giving Farhan some young guys that could haunt us for years in our own division. How about a big HELL NO!
3rd pitcher at best now and Crazier than ever. Does not like bat flips or giving up bombs. Go get him out of the ocean.
Or people looking at him.
So, the Dodgers already activated Freese and sent Rios and Garlick down. Now, they’re going to activate Seager and Pollock and I assume they’ll send Beaty down as a result. It looks like the Red Sox are lining up 3 lefthanders to face the Dodgers over the weekend in Rodriguez, Sale and Price…
It’ll be interested to see what these lineups are going to look like.
1B – Freese
2B – Muncy or CT3/Kike
3B – Turner all three games after having a few days off
SS – Seager for 2? CT3 for 1 to bring him back slowly?
LF – Verdugo, or CT3/Kike?
CF – Pollock all three games, or ease him in?
RF – Belli
With a 13.5 game lead, I would expect to see a lot of the stuntmen giving guys some days off.
Pollock all 3 games. Dodgers invested highly on him and just use him now . Enough Rest . Put him on DH a couple of games to ease him in. But play the players . Dodgers abuse giving players rest and they get out of tune. Kike all 3 games but i hope they trade him before the deadline !!!!
For me, no player is untradeable, and there is no player I wouldn’t trade for, if it makes perfect baseball sense.
Yes, I would include Ruiz in a deal, but the return has to include multiple top tier controllable talents. That being the case, the other team may not be agreeable. And as for trading for Madbum or any other Giant, if the deal is right I do it. I don’t hate Madbum, or anyone else on the Giants. That’s the team they play on, and I would expect nothing less from them to try and go out and kick Dodger ass at every opportunity. And those are professional players who would play just as hard for the Dodgers as they do for the Giants (and love the Dodgers just as they now love the Giants). And as much as an a-hole that Madbum is at times, he’s still an inspirational player for whichever team he plays for.
But I agree with Mark, that the 2019 version of Madbum is not the same as the version we saw in years past. I would leave it up to the Dodgers’ talent evaluators to make that determination, since they’re not going to acquire him (if even possible) without dotting their “i’s” and crossing their “t’s”.
And also, I do not believe that AF has a list of players that he will not trade under any circumstances. He likely has a list of players that he would not trade unless the return is extraordinary. Even Seager, Bellinger, etc. would have been traded in years past if the return had been off the wall. Chances are that no team would ever offer the kind of return that AF would accept.
Well put Bum, but I still don’t trade Ruiz… I see Ruiz and Smith as our catching corp next year all the while keeping an eye on Cartaya, Wong etc. etc.
I’ve always liked Wong I don’t hear much about him f rom AC, DC or M.T.
Lewis signed for $1.1M
Seager activated
Beatty to OKC
AC – I guess I missed it but Zach Plunkett (20th) and Breyln Jones (29th) have signed. Breyln high school shortstop.
Peter,
If anything, I am not an expert on the Dodgers farm system. So maybe somebody like AC, DC or 2demeter2 can shed more light on this. But it appears to me that from stats alone (and there’s more to evaluating a player than pure stats) it appears that Connor Wong has been less than stellar. Yes, he’s shown some power (19 last year, and 15 so far this year), but nothing else (except maybe defense) seems to make him standout.
And it may well be because of the people in front of him (Smith, Ruiz), but as of the present, he has still not risen above A ball.
Here’s a link to Wong’s page at baseball-reference.com.
https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=wong–000con
Brooklyn – you’re right, but I like the kid… Damn good D and he can run the bases.. Great with the fans at Rancho… Approachable… Maybe in a trade with another club…
DODGERS ACTIVATE INF COREY SEAGER
OF MATT BEATY OPTIONED TO TRIPLE-A OKLAHOMA CITY
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today activated infielder Corey Seager from the 10-day injured list and optioned outfielder Matt Beaty to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Seager has been on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain since June 13. Prior to going on the injured list, he was batting .278 (66-for-237) with eight homers and 38 RBI in 66 games for the Dodgers. The North Carolina native made three rehab appearances with Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga, batting .333 (2-for-6) with one RBI.
Beaty has appeared in 37 games in three different stints with the Dodgers. He is batting .278 (30-for-108) with two homers and 17 RBI with Los Angeles. In five minor league seasons with Dodgers, he has slashed .308/.367/.448 with 34 homers and 215 RBI.
I would have no problem trading for Madbum………………………….except that we have no need for him. For those who say he’s carried the Giants on his back in the playoffs that’s absolutely correct. That was also 5 years ago. As MT and others have said, he is no longer that pitcher. If we traded for him tomorrow, he might be our 3rd or 4th best starter. Farhan would certainly ask for more than a 3 or 4 starter would bring.
For those who said they would trade Ruiz for him, I don’t understand that either, since you are giving up one of the better prospects in baseball for 2 months of the season plus the playoffs, and that player is on the downside of his career.
So, although none of you have asked me, I say no thank you.
Ken Gurnick has a nice article about the Dodgers and the trade deadline.
https://www.mlb.com/dodgers/news/dodgers-trade-deadline-approach
I’ve been thinking the same as Gurnick lately.
Also Roberts loves the lefty/lefty matchups. So I’m thinking Roberts wants AF to get a lefty that won’t cost too much. Maybe Jake Diekman. I’m not necessarily advocating for him but it makes a lot of sense. Could also look at Aaron Bummer but he’s under control until 2025 so he might cost too much in a trade.
As I was mentioning to Mark, Zaida knows our farm system like a book, he even drafted some of those guys. After MadBum is long gone, how would you like to face 1 or 2 of some of our best prospects 19 games a year in our own division for the next decade? Totally not worth it.
Yes let’s not go all out for a championship for fear of playing against guys who may or may not make it.
All out is not trading some of your really good young guys for a #3 or#4 rental pitcher who is nowhere near who he was 4 years ago. Vasseghe on Dodgertalk mentioned last night that Bumgarner benefits from pitching at Oracle Park. At home he has an ERA of 3.67, oppenents hitting .245. Away from home he sits at a 4.60 ERA with oppenents hitting .277. If you are Freidman, do you trade for” past performance” (There’s that ugly phrase again) and hope MadBum turns into a magical unicorn come play-off time? Or does he turn into a pumpkin at midnight, but by getting him you missed out on a lock down reliever, because trust me, Zaida is not going to take a few AA players and a warm six pack for him. That is not my version of “all out”. Dope Fiend comes to mind.(Sorry Mark, had to steal that)
I wouldn’t have a big problem trading with the Giants. I think they’re a mess and throwing them something for Will Smith would be no big deal. Now the Padres are a different story. I would be apprehensive to help them complete their product.
So, I just got back from the Loons game against the Cedar Rapids Kernels. I don’t think there is a top 30 prospect on the Loons right now with Vargas’ promotion. Neither team’s lineups were loaded with impressive stats behind the batter’s names. I sat over by the Loons dugout and not behind home plate. Since I had my 6-year old daughter we sat by the Loons dugout wearing our Dodgers gear. That usually gets my kids at least a baseball. Brooklyn got a ball and a broken bat from the Loons players.
~
The player of the game was Jose Martinez. He started the game with his fastball sitting between 92-94 on the scoreboard gun. Usually around 94. The Kernels honestly were late on a couple of balls. However, one was a single down the 3rd baseline and one was a triple down the first base line. What looked like was a Sac Fly to make the game 2-0 in the 1st turned into a DP when McClain gunned a guy out at the plate to kill the Kernels momentum. It was a beautiful throw. Martinez gave up a solo jack to CF by the Kernels DH in the 2nd and that was the last of their scoring. It looked like his breaking pitch sat around 85 mph for most of the game. Once the third inning hit, Martinez was hitting his spots, rang up some guys looking for the next few innings. It looked like he was working a change up in the 6th that he was leaving up for some louder outs. The pitch looked flat and up and was in the upper 80’s. I figured he was done after 6. However, Martinez came out in the 7th and put them down in order( I think) including touching 96 on the gun.
~
Hagemann threw two nice innings. Not a hard thrower. I think he touched 91 mph once but mostly worked in the upper 80’s and had an off-speed pitch with some serious sink. The Kernels were swinging over a lot of his pitches.
~
Roller had a nice game. He has some wheels. He drew a couple of walks, stole a base, showed a lot of range in RF, took 3rd from 2B on a grounder to third after the throw to first, scored on a PB and had a hit when they broke the game open.
`
Amaya had a real slick play defensively at 2B and legged out a hit before Paulsen hit a bomb to RF to tie the game up 2-2. Paulsen got fooled on off-speed stuff the rest of the game.
`
Cuadrado hit into some tough luck. He had one ball caught at the wall and line drive off the pitchers glove to an infielder for an out. He also stole a base. Once they got into the bullpen of the Kernels the offense picked up overall and they were running on the Kernels. The bottom of the order looks real bad offensively until they got to the relief pitcher.
`
Outman made a real nice play in CF tracking a ball down, but he also let a ball drop in front of him because of a false step back initially. He was the one guy who got gunned out trying to steal. The Loons manager wasn’t happy with his jump. There was a little instructional time for Outman at the end of that inning.
~
The two catchers were guys that I wanted to watch play. Camargo didn’t play tonight. He supposed to play tomorrow. The left handed Feduccia played. The Kernels definitely played a shift every time a LH batter came up. The first two time Feduccia was up, he hit balls up the middle for outs because the SS was playing right behind the base. The 3rd time it looked like he was consciously trying to beat the shift and wound up hitting a weak pop up to LF. His last AB he singled between the first baseman and second baseman. He hit a grounder with eyes. The Kernels never tried running on him. Honestly, there weren’t many if any potential running situations after the 1st hitter of the game for the Kernels. Nothing got past him. There were some unhappy Kernels with a couple of called strike 3’s so he may of stole a couple of K’s, but like I said I chose to entertain my daughter over sitting in the optimal scouting seat.
`
A minor league team like the Loons has to have a strange dynamic. Guys knowing they are competing with their teammates for a chance at a professional career every bit as much as competing with the opponent on the field.
Thanks for the great report, Hawkeye.
No problem. Actually Amaya might be a top 30 player.
He already is. He is #11 on MLBPipeline. Now everyone can see why I was so excited when he was drafted and signed a couple years ago. I actually saw him play in high school, and knew he was a Fullerton commit. He loves being a Dodger.
