“Just Win, Baby!”

October 7, 2017

I am not sure if Al Davis coined that phrase, but he  sure used it a lot! Clayton didn’t have his best stuff last night as he struggled with his command. But, he continues to ignore my advice.  I tried to tell him. These guys are jumping on his first pitch.  All he has to do is change that up a little. Don’t make every first pitch a strike.  But,…

Nothing is as Constant as Change

October 4, 2017

As we await to find out who the Dodgers play in the first round of the playoffs, I think it’s appropriate that we look ahead and see what types of changes could be on the horizon for the Dodgers in 2018. Changes in Players Of course, we do know that Andre Ethier’s contract us up and unless he wants to sign a “Chase Utley” type contract, his Dodgers career is…

Boy, That Was Fun!

September 30, 2017

NOT! The Dodgers looked lifeless and disinterested last night for two reasons: 1.  THEY WERE! 2.  IT’S COLORADO! The game didn’t mean anything as the Dodgers had a 2 game lead over the Indians going into last night game.  Today, they have 102 wins and the Indians have 101.  Kershaw pitches today and I have a sneaking feeling Darvish will pitch Sunday. Ryu should probably never pitch at Coors again….

Around Third and Heading for Home…

September 24, 2017

Dodger fans are never in a good mood after a loss to the Giants and it’s especially irritating when MadBum is the winning pitcher. I’m no different!   $$#%& &?!^%$#@%$.  There I feel better already, but then factor in that I am an Indianapolis Colts fan and my Sunday doesn’t look too fun.  That, and it’s 92 degrees here today… at the end of September. A few things may have…

Tommy’s Perfect Birthday Party!

September 23, 2017

The Playoff Roster Remains in Flux If you have been living under a rock, then you may not know that the Dodgers clinched the NL West last night for the 5th straight year.  They now have 98 wins and it’s a forgone conclusion that they will win more than 100 games.  You have to love a guy like Rich Hill who is peaking just in time for the playoffs.  I…

The Thlot Plickens

September 20, 2017

With just 10 games left until October 1st, when the season ends, the playoff roster remains a mystery.  I think we all have a pretty good idea that certain players will be on the roster. Position Players Grandal Barnes Bellinger Forsythe Utley Seager Turner Hernandez Granderson Taylor Puig Ethier I left off Adrian Gonzalez because he is not anywhere near healthy.  The Dodgers would love to have him on the…

Don’t Forget the Ultimate Goal

September 18, 2017

So, the Dodgers took two out of three from the Nationals on their home field and you are upset that Stephen Strasburg, the hottest pitcher in baseball, beat them? Let’s not lose sight of the ultimate goal. You have to remember a few things: The Ultimate Goal is to win the World Series. Nothing much else matters. The front office, coaching staff and the manager are very smart. The Dodgers…

Rich Hill: Reason to Believe

September 17, 2017

Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reported yesterday that Alex Verdugo showed up late to Nationals Park on Friday, after the team already had its daily hitters meeting. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he didn’t learn of Verdugo’s tardiness until he was heading out to the field for the workout but would “address it” with him. General Manager Farhan Zaidi is on this trip with the team and said the same thing. “I…

Who Will be on the Playoff Roster?

September 16, 2017

Let me dispel a rumor:  Curtis Granderson will be on the playoff roster.  Bet on it!  I don’t care if he hits .000 the rest of the way.  He will be on it.  The playoffs start new season and Grandy will be there.  That’s why the Dodgers traded for him in the first place. Also, I think he will be ready! Here’s what I see in my crystal ball: Starting…

This Losing Streak is Deliberate – Laissez-Faire at Work!

September 10, 2017

A team that went 92-41 up through September 1st and then suddenly loses 9 games in a row can’t happen unless it is done deliberately.  I have been considering this for a few days and I really believe that FAZ and Doc really want this team to peak at the end of the season. They knew the team was good, but they had no idea that they would run off…
