The Dodgers’ Rotation is going to look something like this starting today, as Shohei Ohtani and Ben Casparius join the rotation with Emmet Sheehan right behind them.
- Yamamoto
- Ohtani
- Sheehan
- May
- Kershaw
- Casparius
The immediate effect is that this is going to tax the bullpen even more, as Ohtani, Casparius, and Sheehan are in no way “built up.” However, it is a necessary step. Wrobleski, Dreyer, Sauer, Banda, and others will be taxed in the short term. They may even work in Little, Miller, and others. Roki Sasaki is shut down, and it’s unclear whether we will see him later this year. The move to the six-man rotation was necessary for Yamamoto, who is much more effective with extra rest, and Ohtani, but it may help every starter go an extra inning or two. This we shall see.
Shohei Ohtani will allegedly open tonight. It would be great if he could go two or three innings, but anything over one inning is a plus. I would think that following him with Wrobleski would be a good plan, but what do I know? It’s going to be fun to see. Remember, MLB now has the “Ohtani Rule: “If Ohtani starts the game as both pitcher and DH, and then is removed as a pitcher, he can stay in the game as the DH without the team losing the DH spot.“
So, Ohtani will start the game as the DH and Pitcher, and when he comes out of the game as a pitcher, he will still be the DH. Very cool! This is what we have all been waiting for, and the Dodgers just got a whole lot stronger.
The Rafael Devers Debacle
I am not going to beat this dead horse very long, but I feel the same way about Rafael Devers that I did about Manny Ramirez. They are both supremely talented superstar hitters who are selfish, bad human beings. Manny beat up a 60+ year old team employee and was despised by many of his teammates. Rafael Devers is a highly productive, homegrown slugger who was signed through 2033, and the Red Sox traded him because they felt they were better without him. It’s called addition by subtraction.
Now, it is possible that he changes his stripes and becomes an unselfish teammate, but it is highly unlikely. In my experience, people like this do not change. Maybe he will… but my guess is that he will mess up the Giants team chemistry after an initial honeymoon period. Here’s what I said about Manny: “I would rather lose without him than win with him!” I feel the same way about Devers, and I am glad he is a Giant!

Back to back series wins vs SD and SF….
NOW
WE GO
Cheers to big Dodgers fan JJ Spaun for winning our Nations Open Championship. Heart of a champion!!!
I agree Manny & Devers were/are very talented players with deeply selfish personalities. Teams are much better off without players who “contaminate” team chemistry. Yeah, teams have won that hated each other but most know it’s dramatically better to have a “one for all” culture. Which the Dodgers DO have and Dave is a big part of why they do.
BTW, I include Manny Machado in that group though his problem is he’s a childish punk perhaps more than he’s selfish. If he were not like he is I believe the Dodgers would have signed him to an extension. He was a (very) talented Bandaid.

Was anyone else as completely disgusted with that home plate umpire last night as I was??
C B Bucknor has never been great at balls and strikes. The call just prior to the homer by Johnson was one of the worst. Dude should be fired. If I was Yates, I would have deliberately missed Rushing’s glove and plunked that moron right in the coconut. By the way, Dever’s will most likely be the Giants DH. He is nowhere near the defensive 3rd baseman that Chapman is, and he has a long-term deal with SF. He also has never played 1st. He will be the ONLY legitimate power hitter in the Giants lineup. Don’t let him beat you.
“Dude should be fired. If I was Yates, I would have deliberately missed Rushing’s glove and plunked that moron right in the coconut. ”
If missing a call is reason to be fired, how about physically assaulting someone? Lifetime suspension at minimum.
How would they know you did it on purpose? Pure conjecture. You cannot assume intent.
“You cannot assume intent.”
Pitchers can be ejected if the umpires deem they intentionally threw at a batter.
The MLB can do their investigation and suspend the player.
But, beyond that, we already know what your hypothetical intent was.
Devers brings a cancerous attitude to the Bay area.
100%
Can Ohtani Pitch and DH at the same time? Or does he have to wait until he’s done pitching to be entered into the game at the DH position?
Under the MLB Ohtoni Rule, he can do both.
Thank You Andrew
Well I can answer my own question. He can Pitch and DH at the same time. It’s a rule known as the Ohtani rule.
Out for the 4 game Dodger series.
The Padres placed Jackson Merrill (concussion) on the 7-day injured list Sunday.
Merrill will be out for at least the next week after he was diagnosed with the concussion upon taking a hard tag to the head in Saturday’s 8-7 loss to the Diamondbacks
We’ll see…
FWIW, it’s been reported that Devers remained popular with his teammates in Boston. I think he’s selfish and should have welcomed a shift to 1B, but some players faulted management for its handling of the situation.
Bold move from GM Buster Posey.
Will Friedman counter or stand pat?
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Sasaki (shoulder) halted his throwing program a few days ago, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
“Per Ardaya, Roberts noted that Sasaki is “pain-free” and isn’t dealing with any sort of setback with his shoulder that will warrant further testing, but the rookie right-hander indicated that he doesn’t feel comfortable yet throwing at full intensity. Initially placed on the injured list May 13 due to a right shoulder impingement, Sasaki resumed throwing two weeks later but hadn’t advanced beyond playing catch before he shut himself down. At this stage, Sasaki doesn’t look like he’ll have enough time to get stretched back out and return from the IL before the All-Star break, and if he’s unable to resume throwing early on in the second half, his availability for the remainder of the season would be in serious jeopardy. Sasaki went 1-1 with a 4.72 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 24:22 K:BB in 34.1 innings over his eight starts before being shelved”.
Kiki has issued some pretty strong and public statements against the ICE actions in LA. I’m curious to know how Dan n Pasadena feels about not just this issue but the propriety of professional athletes taking public political stances. Personally, if I were a pro player I would not comment in the belief that sports are a refuge and bring us together in spite of our differences. Last week I ran into a super nice guy at the Waffle House that was from a completely world than mine. He had on a Dodger cap in my small South Carolina town and we struck up a wonderful 30 minute conversation that never would have happened otherwise. Without the cap I would have walked right by his tattoos and piercings and he would have never noticed me in my suit and wingtips. I love how sports soften our diversity. I know players have opinions and the right to express them. I just wish we could have this little oasis from the polarity of our modern political environment. I love Kiki, and still will, just like I love comments by Dan in Pasadena even though I know he is of a very different political persuasion than I. But I kinda wish I did not know it.
Well said!
Thats why I stay of Dodgers Reddit. Thats a cesspool….
Where in SC? I went to Clemson, live in NC now…
Good for Kiké
People in the public eye have an obligation to speak up about important issues. People being able to ignore the suffering of others because it doesn’t effect them is part of the problem. Some people don’t have the luxury of refuge.
Liking someone because they have a Dodger hat on is equally as absurd as not liking someone because they have tattoos or are wearing a tie.
What actually matters about people is how they feel about important issues. “Sure they think all X should be locked up, but they like the Dodgers, so they are cool by me”.
Maybe we should try and relate to each other on more consequential matters.
HUH?!?!?
I don’t know how to say what I said more clearly.
Why should someone who is in the spotlight have more reason to voice an opinion than anyone else? Celebrities who shoot their mouth off usually just make any situation worse. Kike is a nice guy, but I care less how he feels about the so-called peaceful BS going on in LA. Those clowns for the most part were not even born there.
Well said Old Bear, well said.
Now, as Vin would say, Lets get back to this one…
People of any stripe have no “obligation” to bloviate about public issues. In the final analysis, Kike is an entertainer, and by speaking on a political issue, he has probably offended the half of Dodger fans who don’t think that flouting Federal law by immigrating illegally is a good idea. Why offend half of your fan base?
Baseball players are mostly not particularly well informed or educated about political or legal issues. What do I care about what Kike thinks about anything other than baseball?
“People of any stripe have no “obligation” to bloviate about public issues.”
But here you are. If it’s good enough for you, it should be good enough for Kiké.
“Why offend half of your fan base?”
Because a lot of things are more important than fan bases.
Dodgerrick didn’t respond because of “obligation.” Don’t gaslight.
Your premise is that Kike, being a public figure, has a moral obligation to use his reach to advocate for very specific, social justice inspired political objectives.
And really, what those objectives are, when you get down to brass tacks, is power, and the power to dismantle an existing system.
Don’t pretend like you’re taking a principled stand here. If Kike wore a MAGA hat, you’d be appalled and you’d despise him and try to have him canceled. Be honest … if you can.
As polarized and as deeply divided as we are as a society, I think it’s wise if you’re a professional baseball player not to needlessly alienate half the fan base that doesn’t think the way you do.
I wouldn’t if I were Kike. If I said what I really thought, it would doubtless provoke a near violent reaction from you and people like you, because, for you, politics transcends everything. It is a religious crusade.
This is some dumb stuff.
Ending with, but not limited to:
“he has probably offended the half of Dodger fans who don’t think that flouting Federal law by immigrating illegally is a good idea. Why offend half of your fan base?”
You think half of the Dodgers fan base is offended by his comments??!?!? Seriously? Half?
And to the response, does anyone really think Kike Hernandez’ objective is power? Or was that a generalization that I misinterpreted?
This is a complex situation, why should he not be allowed to comment as other dingbats comment?
Even if he’s a dingbat (could be, I’m sure he didn’t get to the majors based on his IQ), he gets to stay stuff. I think (THINK) he’s done some really wonderful things for Puerto Rico post-hurricane, perhaps that gives him more of a platform than most. I can see that reasoning for why his voice would resonate more than that of Freeman, Rushing, Kershaw, Ohtani or Treinen.
Bullshit
How about Kershaw and his alteration to his pride day hat?
He didn’t make a speech
“He didn’t make a speech”
Did Kiké? If so, can you link to it? I thought he just wrote a post on Instagram.
Kershaw, though, wrote it on his uniform. During a game.
That seems…more…than what Kiké did.
The difference in this case – which I’m sure you’re aware of, but choose not to acknowledge – is that Kershaw was literally being forced to publicly advocate for something he personally doesn’t believe in and that runs counter to his religious convictions.
“Kershaw was literally being forced to publicly advocate for something he personally doesn’t believe in and that runs counter to his religious convictions.”
What were, and are, your feelings about players like Mahmad Abdul Roaf and Colin Kaepernick who didn’t want to be forced to advocate for something that they didn’t believe in?
How about the idea that silence is acceptance?
If something you believed was wrong was occuring in front of you, would you think about your fans or try to right the wrong?
Remember, you’re here posting about this issue.
As a veteran, who served this country for 9 years, I consider not standing for the anthem as a slap in the face to everyone who died so he could be an ass. Kaepernick is a jerk.
Pride day = bullshit
I thought Yates might have attacked the home plate umpire after the home run last night! balls and strikes were awful the whole series. Now that being said, 4 walks, 2 hit by pitch in 6 innings? Not to mention that a couple of swing and miss were on pitches chased out of the strike zone that would have been ball 4. Dusttin May is eating some innings, but he’s definitely not impressive at the moment. … Vesia and Scott seem to have fixed whatever their issues were! Both looked fresh and dominant! Yates looked good, but even after the missed call 3rd strike, the long ball came back to bite him. understand him being p-ssed off, but he’s the one that grooved the pitch. …. Devers? so Buster is going to all out to play with the dodgers! Looks like Wilmer will be the casualty when it comes to playing time. Good luck Buster! you’ll need it! Think AF might up 1 him? wouldn’t be surprised at all! …. Now i’m not a manager, but maybe it’s time to leave Andy in the 5 hole! Doc sometimes drops him as low as 7. Heck, when Will is out, i would bat him cleanup! … great fathers day! Clayton sure loves being a father! Congratulations To him and his family on the news!
I give Yates a pass on the home run. Based on the previous call he needed to get it more inside. Might have been better to throw a pitch on the outside corner rather than go back inside.
Yates had a legitimate beef. He struck the guy out on an excellent pitch–but then the guy hits a HR. Earlier, Rushing got called out on a pitch that was clearly off the inside of the plate.
The Devers deal certainly spices up the NL West. The Giants now have a centerpiece to their offense–and Adames is heating up after a slow start. A lineup that features Lee, Devers, Adames, Heliot Ramos, Flores and Chapman is no joke. I assume that Adames will DH and Flores will share 1B with Dominic Smith, who Posey acquired after releasing Lamont Wade Jr.
Possible fallout for the Dodgers: Will the Red Sox now be less likely to deal Jarron Duran? Boston has a surplus of young position talent, but now their DH spot is open and they’ve reinforced their pitching staff.
I’m very happy that the Dodgers are bringing Shohei into the rotation now and not waiting until after the all-star break. How many starts will he need to get into the ace-quality groove he sometimes showed with the Angels?
We don’t need Duran. More than likely he will Not be traded after the Devers trade. Boston is on a youth movement with lots of dollars to spend after moving Dever’s 32 plus million dollar yearly 8 year remaining contract.

I appreciate all the X comments that Mark adds to his post, but Blake Harris gets a bit carried away in glazing Pages.
He’s having a terrific, potential all-star season…. but it’s pretty clear that Pete Crow-Armstrong, not Pages, will win the gold glove in CF. PCA might win the platinum.
I think its much closer than you think and the metrics bear that out….

PCA and Andy P have basically the same numbers, so pretty much the same player! So what do they need to? a left fielder? a long relief guy? Duran? probably not going to happen now. i’m not sure what AF will do. BUT , regardless of what some say, i do believe he counters the Giants move with something significant! He has to. not necessarily out of necessity, more out of “ now what you gonna do Buster?”. … i would like to see Dalton get some more at bats. we know he’s going to hit at this level. 3 at bats every 4 days might not be enough for him to get his timing down. Right now, kike and Conforto have restricted his ability to get more at bats. maybe they should just put kike on the il and keep him on ice till the playoffs! He’s just bored during the regular season! Conforto? don’t believe he’s going anywhere, but if he doesn’t get better, he could be left off the playoff roster during the postseason!
“more out of “ now what you gonna do Buster?”.”
This seems like a horrible way to run a team.
I can’t imagine AF thinks anything like that.
“The Dodgers’ Rotation is going to look something like this starting today”
In order as best as I can tell.
16: Ohtani & Sauer
17: Casparius
18: Sheehan
19: Yamamoto
20: Kershaw
21: May
22: Ohtani & Sauer
23: OFF
That gives everyone 5 off days since their last appearance .
Wrobleski could go on 4 days to piggy back Sheehan.
They will need to take someone off the roster to add Sheehan.
CBeisbol, thanks for your thoughtful comments on the Kike question. Keep in mind, I was not saying Kike should not be allowed to comment, just that I wish he would not. Part of my reasoning is for his sake as I believe 50% of the population will now judge him negatively and probably write him off from this point forward. This is unfortunate as he is obviously a man of great joy and effervescence. This mentality has been nurtured in large part by partisan media on both sides that encourage us to jump to conclusions and make assumptions about anyone with a political viewpoint outside of their litmus test norm. I submit that we actually agree on far more than we disagree on. I seriously doubt, for example, that CBeisbol would be against arresting a rapist just because he also happens to be an immigrant. Conversely, I would not be in favor of putting someone in prison just because they were an immigrant. Perhaps hidden inside my pinstripe suit is an inner 1960’s hippie, but a little more love and a bit less judgement could do wonders for our country right about now. A beautiful summer of baseball and a Clayton Kershaw 12 to 6 curveball won’t hurt either.
“I believe 50% of the population will now judge him negatively and probably write him off from this point forward.”
Ah, yes, best not to stand up for something you believe in lest you lose popularity.
Again. Lots of things are more important than baseball.
“A beautiful summer of baseball and a Clayton Kershaw 12 to 6 curveball won’t hurt either.”
Won’t really help anything either. Which is why it’s important for people to speak up.
Again, why is the focus on what Kiké did on his Instagram and not what Kershaw did on his uniform during a game?
For anyone who thinks Kiké should have kept quiet, here’s his post
” I may not be Born & Raised, but this city adopted me as one of their own. I am saddened and infuriated by what’s happening in our country and our city. Los Angeles and Dodger fans have welcomed me, supported me and shown me nothing but kindness and love. This is my second home. And I cannot stand to see our community being violated, profiled, abused and ripped apart. ALL people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and human rights. #CityOfImmigrants”
What, specifically, do you disagree with?
That all people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, and human rights?
Not that? Then what?
Your argument is moot. We all know there are things more important in life than baseball. Bu there are also lines which should not be crossed. Sports is sports. Should never be mixed up with religion or politics. Kike crossed the line.
“Should never be mixed up with religion or politics. ”
Says who?
Have you missed the entire history of sports?
Maybe read something about the original Olympics (spoiler: they were explicitly religious and political).
“Your argument is moot.”
Why is that, exactly?
Stop with all the political bullshit on here. It adds NOTHING
“pride day = bullshit”
wrote some hypocrite

Because people pay attention to them
No one cares what you (or I) say.

Your bias is noted
“Those clowns for the most part were not even born there.”
What are you talking about?
“If Kike wore a MAGA hat, you’d be appalled and you’d despise him and try to have him canceled. Be honest … if you can.”
LOL. Completely unhinged.
Do you think I despise Kershaw and am trying to have him cancelled because of what he wrote on his hat? How about Blake Treinen?
Or are you just making things up?
“If I said what I really thought, it would doubtless provoke a near violent reaction from you and people like you,”
Absolutely unhinged.
“for you, politics transcends everything. It is a religious crusade.”
Absolutely unhinged
Bias? You do not know a thing about me bud. I call em as I see them. And I see a bunch of clowns who don’t know crap about the constitution or how the US came to have California spouting the biggest batch of bullshit this side of the Mississippi. Being a native Californian, I have watched the left totally destroy the state. I wouldn’t live in that dump again for millions of dollars.
“Bias? ”
Yes. Everyone has bias.
You showed yours by saying “shoot their mouth off” instead of “expressing their opinion” or something.
“And I see a bunch of clowns who don’t know crap about the constitution ”
How do you know what these people know about the constitution?
“spouting the biggest batch of bullshit this side of the Mississippi.”
What are they saying? And who are they?
“I have watched the left totally destroy the state. ”
California is destroyed?
Ok. You blew it. I was going to Zelle you 2 million to move to California. Now too late
God i hate politics!! i don’t give a sh-t about what a celebrity, an athlete, especially a politician thinks about anything anymore! i don’t turn right. i don’t turn left. i drive in the middle lane of life. i try to respect everyone else’s opinions though i might not agree with them. this is a place for supporting the Los Angeles Dodgers. not windbag politicians. My 2 cents on that crap. … And by the way. owners and GM’S have been known to acquire players to keep other teams from getting them. Sure some like AF. make moves to “up” other teams moves. George Steinbrenner acquired jose canseco so no one else could! didn’t work so good, but it did happen! …. Hopefully we can all enjoy a dodger victory tonight! should be interesting!
Amen brother. I have seen the worst side when the two are mixed. I was in Munich when the Israeli athletes were killed. I never listen when a celebrity starts talking politics or religion. I respect their right to do so, but nothing they say is going to change my thinking.
“nothing they say is going to change my thinking.”
How do you know if you don’t listen?
Easy, I base my opinions on fact, not the words of someone who is a celebrity.
“Easy, I base my opinions on fact’
No. You don’t.
Certainly not all of them. No one does
,”not the words of someone who is a celebrity.”
You didn’t answer the question
How can you know if a celebrity is stating a fact if you don’t listen?
I also think there is nothing wrong with keeping political posts off this site. There are plenty of other pla ces to post your thoughts. I subscribe to a financial site where the moderator typically deletes posts ‘off topic’

Give it a rest man, take it to Dodgers Reddit
Agreed
Why did you address this to me and not everyone else involved in this discussion?
Maybe go back and see how many times you posted the same thing.
I don’t see any.
If I did, go ahead and point it out.
let’s stick with baseball before Mark takes this wonderful place to be a dodger fan and contributor away from us! it’s his world, he just lets us borrow it everyday!
Yeah we might all need to go over to the cesspool that Reddit has become….
I am going to say this one time, and then we are going to stop talking about it:
I am a fan of Kike Hernandnez but not as a pitcher. He should never pitch again, and he is even worse at politics.
He is best suited to stick with baseball, and I am going to tell you why.
This past weekend, there were protests across the country, largely funded by left-wing organizations called “No Kings.” This protest is based upon Trump allegedly being the Deporter in Chief, which is one of the main things that he ran on when he was running for election. So, of course, he is going to deport people. All of a sudden, the Left is up in arms that these people are not getting due process. This is very disingenuous. Why?
Let me set the stage: Before Trump became President, whoever was running the country (and don’t say “Biden” or we will all know you are a fool), allowed somewhere between Nine and Twelve Million Illegal Immigrants into the country. ILLEGALLY!
As of this moment, Trump has deported less than 200,000. In the eight years that Barack Obama was President, the total removals from the country were 5.7 million. FIVE POINT SEVEN FREAKING MILLION!
My wife is an immigrant. I know lots of immigrants, and they all came in the right way. We have many immigrants who work for us, but I will not hire illegals. During Trump’s first term, they posted pictures of kids in cages, and it turned out those photos were taken under Obama’s watch.
I voted for Trump because I couldn’t vote for either “empty suit” that ran on the other ticket. I don’t agree with him on everything, but this immigration stuff is so disingenuous. Obama was the Deporter in Chief, and Trump can’t hold a candle to him. Where was the outrage then? The inflammatory rhetoric has to stop – I will not tolerate gaslighting! Now back to Dodger Baseball, and this is not a No Kings Site. I am the King!
Now let’s stop the politics.
Well said, Now lets go back to this one.
What a game tonight we got to look forward to.
Thank You. This page basically got highjacked with political talk. I just want to read about baseball on this page, It’s my escape from all that garbage.
there’s some real stupid stuff in that post Mark.
Really dumb.
Fact Check it with a credible source… and why do you have to say stupid and dumb, when you could say wrong?
When you resort to calling me names, you have already admitted defeat!
THe Kings Day or whatever it was called, had very little to do with immigration.
It was, as the name implies, about imperial actions. Like misappropriating the power of the purse from congress, not offering due process/habeus, targeting law-firms and individuals with executive orders, trying to overturn an amendment with an executive order, or having a military parade on your birthday.
I’m sure some signs and the thrust of some chants (do people chant anymore? I like the chants!) were about immigration, but the point was more constitutional.
And where did you get the idea that the funding came from Leftist organizations? What are the leftist organizations anymore? Jacobin magazine and the DSA?
Boring as usual.
ChatGPT:
The “No Kings” rallies on June 14, 2025 were not exclusively about immigration, but immigration was a central and recurring theme.
These nationwide protests—held across more than 2,000 cities and drawing an estimated 4–6 million people—were primarily a stand against authoritarianism, democratic backsliding, Trump’s military parade, and what demonstrators saw as executive overreach
However, immigration was a major focus in many cities:
In Los Angeles, protests were closely linked to recent ICE raids and the deployment of federal forces in response to those enforcement actions
In Seattle, Portland, and other West Coast cities, there were calls to “Abolish ICE” alongside signs condemning deportations
In Laredo, Texas, protestors explicitly rallied against immigration raids, waving Mexican and American flags and condemning what they called authoritarian “overreach”
In Austin, Latino activists within the broader event made special efforts to highlight immigration enforcement’s traumatic impact
Other rally-goers carried signs and chanted in support of immigrant rights alongside broader anti-authoritarian messages
without knowing what the prompt was, this information is kind of useless.
What was your prompt? It sounds like you asked if it was about immigration..
I stand by what I said, because it’s correct.
“quit while you are behind Mark.
you don’t need to argue stupid points.”
There’s…not even an argument there
Mark: “you’re a fool. And calling names is for losers”
Someone: “Uh, you just called them a name”
Mark: posts the definition of fool
Wut?
“When you resort to calling me names, you have already admitted defeat!”
That’s just not true. Name calling isn’t a good argument, and doesn’t prove any point, but it doesn’t mean the person on the other side of the argument is wrong or admitting defeat.
Also,
“will all know you are a fool”
This you?
Bluto said the IDEAS were dumb
You said the PERSON was a fool
You were calling people names much more than Bluto was.
That too!
Fucking cancer.
I said whoever says Biden was running the country is a fool. I stand by that.
75% of the Dems I know do not believe Biden was running the country, but are OK with President by committee.
First
Mark: I said whoever says Biden was running the country is a fool. I stand by that.
OK?
Sticking with the discussion at hand – name calling
Saying that someone IS a fool is calling them a name – a fool.
Saying that someone’s IDEA is dumb is not calling them a name.
They are fools – name calling (regardless of how much you stand by it)
They posted something foolish – not name calling
Kinda like in baseball, you can say THE CALL was terrible, but you can’t say THE UMP is terrible or you get ejected.
Kinda foolish not to understand that difference.
YOU were the one calling names, not Bluto.
“When you resort to calling me names, you have already admitted defeat!”
So, by your own logic, you lost the argument.
Second
Mark: This protest is based upon Trump allegedly being the Deporter in Chief
Mark: ChatGPT:
The “No Kings” rallies on June 14, 2025 were not exclusively about immigration, but immigration was a central and recurring theme.
These nationwide protest…were primarily a stand against authoritarianism, democratic backsliding,
Bluto: THe Kings Day or whatever it was called, had very little to do with immigration.
It was, as the name implies, about imperial actions.
First, using ChatGPT as a source is, well, foolish.
Second, your own source, agrees with Bluto
The protests were not “based” (your word ) on immigration. They were “primarily” (your source) about authoritarianism.
You even said it in your comment
Mark: All of a sudden, the Left is up in arms that these people are not getting due process.
Due process isn’t about immigration. It’s about the government following the law.
Point Bluto.

quit while you are behind Mark.
you don’t need to argue stupid points.
No idea why you felt the need to post some definition of the word “fool”.
Well, I have one idea, but…
The definition of “fool” does nothing to change the fact that YOU were the one calling names, not Bluto.
And Bluto was more right thsn you about what the No Kings protests were about – mainly authoritarian overreach.
You may have the power (button), but that doesn’t make you right
Friends, please accept my apology for starting this thread. It was a mistake. Thanks for your patience Mark, and thanks for asking for the ceasefire. Let’s all pull for otahni tonight and at least for a time forget the sad political divide in our great nation. CBeisbol, if you ever find yourself in Clemson SC, please let me know. I would love to buy you lunch. I’ll bet we find more common ground than you expect.
We call Clemson, SC Gods Country!!!
Glad to see a Dodger fan there.
Wife and I both went there, get down there every chance I get.
Off topic
Here you go

No apology needed from where I’m sitting (not a throne. Imagine what kind of [person] you’d have to be to want to sit on a throne).
It’s two, well three, people here who can’t discuss issues without resorting to insults that are the problem.
I don’t know why you think I think we wouldn’t have things in common. Most people have generalities in common – it’s the details where they differ.
Never said I want to sit on a throne.
I just have the power button. 😉
Never said that you said that you wanted to sit on a throne.
I just said that I didn’t, and don’t trust or respect anyone who does.
Dude just stop posting already geezus man.
Take that crap to Reddit.
Just what is wrong with Reddit?
The FoodLA reddit is pretty good.
So, long day of work….time to chill…what’s going on here at ol’ LADT water cooler today?
**scrolls up**
Oh…
Well, we had good run…
Devers now a Giant….LAD trollin’ SDP with an Ohtani start where he’ll presumably face Tatis Jr., Arreaz, Machado….big game 5 tonight in the 2025 NBA Finals proudly brought to you by The Paul George Foundation….
And don’t let this social and political dissension take away from the fact that The Who is at the Hollywood Bowl in September, and fuck it, I’m there!
Peace, brothers…

Not sure what to expect in this game
Hoping, first, Ohtani comes out healthy.
How much he might pitch? Little idea. An inning? Two? Three? I’d guess that’s about the limit
Who’s backing him up? Casparius? Then who goes tomorrow?
Oops
Forgot about Sauer
Hopefully he gets better results than last time out
Some ex Poster turns up posting under a new moniker, with an agenda, and immediately takes knows how to press various buttons (Politics) because he’s seen this story before. Mark gets involved , just as was the plan all along, and by tomorrow morning the LADT Closed sign will be up once again.
if I got drawn into this because of some shit poster, I apologize
There are definitely a couple shit posters
I was able to avoid the lamest of them.
The other two got me
Then there’s Mark.
Best comment of the thread.
Although I don’t know who the ex-poster might be.
For sure not Badger. He might actually be a new guy.
I’m a new guy
Am I the alleged “ex Poster”?
John Ferguson brought up Kiké. They don’t seem like someone here to sew descension.
I responded to their post and subsequent posts by other posters, most of which were…not high quality posts. Including those by Mark.
If he doesn’t want “political” talk on his site? Fine. His right.
But if he’s the kind of person to come in with a last word that’s wrong and doesn’t even make any damn sense, and then take his ball and go home because someone dared to point out that the King didn’t have any clothes, then… That’s also his right. But is pretty F’ing lame.
You are the one who always wants the last word. Get that part right. My patience is growing thin. There’s a lot I can say but 1. It will just provoke another response; and 2. This ain’t the forum.
Nah
I respond to people’s comments. Like yours.
You’re the one who came in with your last word, which was, as pointed out by Bluto, wrong, and then said that that was the end of the discussion.
A kudo to you though, for actually engaging with Bluto when they pointed out what was wrong with your comment.
There, you have the last word. Can you stop… and just talk baseball.
Get lost fool.
Go Dodgers!!!
Mark–I was hoping you could delete all these ‘off topic’ posts, including yours, and lets move on.
Go Dodgers!!! Looking forward to tonight’s game
Politics is a lot like baseball…
Fans often think they know more than they do (and that’s not aimed at anyone in particular; it’s aimed at everyone).
I expected Ohtani to throw 116 MPH – Only 98. I am so disappointed! 😉
99
100
You can see that he absolutely loves to pitch!
Maybe Pages hit 116
Dude can throw
Ok
Not the amazing start we all wanted, but another step in the process.
A leadoff homer would be nice
Ok. Control off, but all soft contact. A better throw gets Tatis
Seemed like a hell of a throw to me – from my phone, from 14,000 km away.
Anyone know where to get that data?
But, yes, there are conceivable throws that would have gotten him.
Shohei’s outing was better than the box score suggests.
Tatis’s hit was a bloop, of course. Soft contact–and Pages was just a step from making the catch.
Machado’s sac fly was not that deep, and Pages’s throw nearly got Tatis. Just a few feet off–to the wrong side of the plate.
So luck did not smile on Shohei–even though he pumped it up to 100 a couple of times. He did look like he loved being back on the mound.
And we can say the Dodgers are undefeated when Shohei starts.
Not bad when your starting pitcher gets a couple of hits and two RBI.
How many innings will he go next time?
Great backup by Teo on Pages’ near catch. Joe was biting his tongue over those bad calls. ABS can’t come soon enough!
This is what I said before the series for the pitching plan
16: Ohtani & Sauer
17: Casparius
18: Sheehan
19: Yamamoto
20: Kershaw
21: May
22: Ohtani & Sauer
23: OFF
Casparius going today changes that
Sheehan tomorrow? Sauer? Wrobleski?
Woohoo – MVPages and Ohtani
Would have liked to have gotten more than 11 outs out of Casparius. Just 15 batters faced and 62 pitches.
Oh well
10 more to go
Solid win against our current rivals and biggest threat.
Ohtani wasn’t great on the mound. But he was on the mound. Hopefully he’ll feel fine and be back out there for a couple of innings soon.
Yates and Scott continue to be solid. Arm barn looks a lot better with Yates and Kopech in it.
Ohtoni got screwed by the ump on the check swing to Machado and should have been the second out in the inning. Very impressed with the velocity and 2 strikes on every hitter he faced. Have to remember he hasn’t been on the mound since 2023 and the rust showed. His ability and intensity will be fine as the season goes along. Nedd him to be ready at full strength and healthy for October baseball. He has ACE written all over him.
Love seeing Pages thrive. I always hoped he was a mature Puig, which, with Teos’s guidance, he has blossomed. Sadly, Puig was victim to MLBs quick trigger just like Bauer’s, and banned from baseball without being convicted. If Vinny is watching, he is still rooting for his wild horse.
Just like they did by changing the AS game from Atlanta to Denver, MLB stuck their nose into politics, but let the Astros off without punishment for the trash can cheating scandal. MLB should stay out of it and so should Kiki and the Dodgers. Players get paid to play baseball, fans pay their salaries to enjoy the game. For those three precious hours we should not have to think of the world’s troubles and politics of the day.
Ohtani did ok for the first inning in two years hitting 100. Impressive start. And I wrote off. Kershaw 2 years ago and thankfully, he is proving me wrong. May he have a few more great years. He will know when it is time to hang em up.
When I see Pages, I think this is how Miguel Vargas was supposed to develop, and it looks like if not this season, then next season it could be Vargas’ season!
