That was what Dave Roberts said when he put JP Feyereisen in the game in the 10th inning. Dodger fans are losing their minds because JP is clearly a shell of himself compared to 2021 and 2022. Why the Dodgers thought he might be able to pitch effectively is beyond me… maybe they knew. However, many Dodger fans are losing their minds because Dave Roberts put him into the game in the 10th inning last night.
Dave Roberts did exactly the right thing: Get this crap out of the way. He’s not “hell-bent-for-leather” trying to win every game. Last night, he was able to establish that JP Feyereisen should not be on the team. Easy peasy! Today, JP will go to OKC or other far-away places and maybe fade into sunset. Landon Knack is coming back today, and there’s also Wrobleski at the ready. BTW, Bobby Miller starts today.
Clayton Kershaw toyed with the Rookie League hitters last night for six hitless innings. That just isn’t fair! Also, Tony Gonsolin is steadily working his way back. Last night was a solid start for him… again!

I don’t panic about losses like last night. The team is not at full strength, and they missed Teo’s bat. Pages made a great catch and throw proving he belongs in a corner outfield spot. Too many missed chances with men on base last night, that cost them the game, not Feyereisen.
Also give credit to their guy who pitched the last two innings. He had that nasty slider working for him and was pretty unhittable
Good ‘tude, dude.

With the turf at Chase Field + off day on Monday, Dave Roberts said he anticipates Tommy Edman to be activated after this road trip. #Dodgers
I know, Roberts and AF are geniuses, but why are we pitching a guy all the other teams rejected in extras instead of say the 5th? Seems extras are quite key.
Whoooooooosh……
listening to the broadcast last night, I heard Steven Nelson in the top of the 10th say that pages was trying anyway and every way to get Otani to third. Well, I noticed that he didn’t try to bunt. Oh, I forgot the Dodgers don’t bunt! But also ohtani was getting a huge lead off second. in extra innings being on the road, shouldn’t we be a little more aggressive on the base paths? even the Marlins are capable of winning an extra inning game just like last night. And you’re right bear, we were down three starters, even though Mookie did pinch it. I understand Doc isn’t gonna lose any sleep over one loss. But that was a very winnable game. And I do hope when they send JP back to the minors, Garcia goes with him.
For what Garcia is he has been fine…
He’s not a leverage guy….

While I agree that it is frustrating to lose a very winnable game. I also think that the collect approach of coaches and management know that they will probably have the best record regardless of winnable losses like last night BUT that they are going to get the players their scheduled days off to to ensure the guys are healthy in the fall.
To do what they did last night takes discipline to adhere to a plan so they win the last game of the season – AGAIN!!
Chess vs. checkers.
Bang!
Kim is truly fun to watch. I find myself anticipating his plate appearances. In that, he’s like Mookie, Freddie and Teo now. Hopefully he’s done enough to stick….but who is out when Tommy and Teo come back? Obviously Outman but who else?
As for last night’s game. Frustrates me more that so many fans don’t understand the game. They just can’t understand it takes a committed approach to navigate 162 games and end up with healthy-enough players to even get TO the playoffs much less make their way to eleven wins.

05/07/25 Los Angeles Dodgers recalled RHP Landon Knack from Oklahoma City Comets.
05/07/25 Los Angeles Dodgers optioned RHP J.P. Feyereisen to Oklahoma City Comets.
The Dodgers announced today that right-hander Evan Phillips has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to right forearm discomfort. Fellow righty Matt Sauer has been recalled to take his spot on the active roster.
Right-handed pitcher Matt Sauer is with the Los Angeles Dodgers in Miami, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
Sauer would only be eligible to be called up if someone was placed on the injured list since he was sent down within the last 15 days.
In his latest bullpen on Saturday, Ohtoni touched 95 mph over the course of his 35-pitch session, per the Orange County Register’s Bill Plunkett.
“Although his breaking pitches still aren’t featured yet, the increased velocity is a promising sign. Once Ohtani is back to getting his slider into these sessions, he will be able to move onto the next phase of his pitching progression, a simulated game.As for when fans can expect the three-time MVP to get his sliders in the mix, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts conceded to team doctor, Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
“I think it’s more Dr. ElAttrache talking to our trainer and then to Shohei. I think those three are collectively driving this process,” Roberts said of the slider incorporation.Roberts also spoke on the increased speed from Ohtani and seemed to be pleased with the positive update”.
i believe 99.9 of posts on this site are people who know baseball. of course players need rest. of course managers do their best to keep their players fresh and healthy. BUT, Honeywell-Garcia? who you want? Give me the turtle neck! i also know Taylor and Max and Rojas ain’t going nowhere. I know James Outman is completely overmatched at the plate. i know i’ve been a dodger fan for 60 plus years. i’ve yet to manage a game. i’ve yet to acquire a player. But i love Dodger baseball as much as as anyone! i love the game! as i type this i am in charleston w.va for my sons baseball team in their college tournament. He’ the head coach. i’ve coached him. i’ve watched him play minor league baseball. Now i get to watch him coach his alma matter. so i think i know a thing or two about baseball. No danger of me getting a job in mlb anytime soon. But i’m happy!
99.9. percent? No fucking way…
This site is much better than other Dodger sites, but there’s still a few here that probably push on doors that say “pull”
Ha ha, funny. And accurate of a lot of places!
Now I get it. I just thought the doors were locked!!
Amen, brother- well said. I understand bringing Outman back, but omg!
I would like to see the Dodgers play more small ball without Teo’s bat that will be missing for sometime and the arrival of Kim.Just look at today’s weak lineup above.Isn’t there anyone better than Outman they could have brought up to replace Teo? Sad ,with nearly a 400 million dollar payroll. Games lost in May, may have some bearing on the outcome in September. They all count.
I personally would have brought up Esteury Ruiz who is on the 40 roster and his 18 stolen bases and .917 OPS.It would have been fun to see him and Kim in the lineup with their speed while Teo is out.
NOTHING to see here:
Bobby Miller’s line at AAA Oklahoma City today:
6IP, 7 h, 6 ER,1BB, 7Ks 3 homeruns allowed
What a regression since 2023.
It might be better for him and the Dodgers if he wears another uniform. A small market team with less pressure. Too bad his trade value is so low. Only scenario right now would be a package of other higher valued Dodgers players included. There still is time before the trading deadline at the end of July to improve his stats and trade value.
Innings eater
Roberts has a more positive update and concrete timeline on Wednesday, saying Hernández could be back in about two weeks.
From the internet:
A Grade 1 adductor strain is a mild injury characterized by pain with minimal loss of strength or range of motion. It involves a slight pull and tiny tearing of the muscle fibers. Recovery typically takes 1 to 2 weeks with rest, ice, and gentle stretching.
Great news!!!
Great news for us .Teo since becoming a Dodger is one of the best outfielders in the game offensively..If we had not signed him,I would have really been disappointed in our front office.
The Marlins pitcher is from my city, born here in Mexicali, I think it’s the first time I prefer the Dodgers to lose this game, but only if Bellozo wins!
