For a team that is so very deep and talented, tight about now, there is a lot of uncertainty.
WHAT WE KNOW… SO FAR!
- We know that Mookie Betts is going to be the starting SS. Kim has a better glove at 2B than SS. I doubt that Rojas is an everyday player anymore, BUT Mookie wants to play SS, and long ago, the Dodgers said OK. That settles it. Give Mookie some time, and history says he can do it! I predict he will be the NL All-Star SS.
- Max Muncy is healthy and will be the 3B. The same is true with Will Smith at C and Teoscar Hernandez in the outfield.
- Michael Conforto appears healthy and should man the other corner outfield spot.
- Tommy Edman will be somewhere… 2B or CF.
- Austin Barnes will be the backup catcher.
- Miguel Rojas looks healthy and will be on the team.
- Chris Taylor looks healthy and, barring trade, will make the team.
- Tony Gonsolin was wonderful.
- Jack Dreyer showed great promise.
- Carlos Duran would be on a team with less depth. He was filthy. Watch him!
WHAT WE DON’T KNOW… YET!
- Hows Kike?
- Will Freddie be ready for opening day?
- Will Shohei Ohtani be ready to hit on opening day?
- Will Eddie Rosario force his way onto the team? They could sure use a LH bat off the bench. Who would be the odd man out or go to the IL?
- Chris Campos showed that he could be an option in the future. He is likely headed back to Tulsa but could move quickly to OKC. His biggest problem is a proclivity to throw home run balls.
We met with a customer who lives at Wickenburg Ranch Gold and Social Club. This place is legit.

My wife flew in last night and we are meeting Tony Jackson for the game. Tonight, we meet JayB at the Mellow Mushroom for dinner.

Based on what Duran showed yesterday it’s hard to believe that no team took a chance on him in the Rule 5 since we didn’t protect him.
The Dodgers have so much depth in pitching in the minors, they should look to trade some for some high prospect position players or they will lose them in future Rule 5 Drafts. The problem right now is there is really no room at the Major League level for any Dodger highly regarded minor league pitcher to make the current roster. Trade them or lose them.
You’re reading a lot into one late inning in a spring training game.
Yes I am.
Are you saying my prediction that he’ll be named closer by opening day may be a bit premature?
Haha fair play

Hopefully Outman will get 4+ at bats today.
Same old Outman. Nothing has changed from last year. Oklahoma City bound.
Mercy trade
Can’t wait to see Frasso today. I was hoping we could see Rushing behind the plate or even left field. Never going to get to the Bigs as a DH.
Patience Grasshopper!
Evan Phillips, according to MLBTR< says that opening day is off of the table with him rehabbing his shoulder. Kopech is also a question mark for opening day.
Hey Mark, that picture you posted of Wickenburg Ranch sure brought back memories to my wife and me. Before it was developed there was the original ranch. It consisted of a bldg. with a restaurant and a few rooms for guests. There were some casitas on the side of a hill, a beautiful swimming pool and, of course, a corral for the horses. Other than that there was the beautiful Sonoran high desert. My wife and I would visit a few times a year (my wife worked for an airline so we flew stand-by for free). When the wranglers saw that we could both ride well, they would take us on rides that others didn’t go on. That was the best time of our lives. I’m sorry for running on so on a non Dodgers subject but just the name Wickenburg Ranch really hit home with me.
No, that is very cool. You should go back and see it. It is breathtaking.
Hey Dodger Fans,
Sorry if this has been discussed but I’m really enjoying ABS this Spring. Loved it in MiLB games I saw and loving it now. 2 incorrect seems to be the right amount of challenges per game. Thoughts?
IlliniDodger
I think I would like to see 5, but so far, I like the way it works.
Pitchers today walked 12 Royals. Dodgers allowed 8 stolen bases. Muncy and Feduccia with 3 run homers, and they still might end up losing the game. Dustin May returns to the mound tomorrow against the Padres. Dodgers also have struck out 14 times in 8.2 innings. Not a great day at the ballpark. Ryan Ward made his second error of the spring dropping another foul pop up.
“Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is reportedly “going to expect over $500 million” when he hits free agency next offseason, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post and MLB Network, who made his remarks on the Baseball Insiders podcast with Robert Murray”.
Shocking
Only a handfull of teams are going to be able to afford the mega stars in the future. Look for the Mets to be in on Vlad if Alonzo options out of his contract. I envision a baseball strike after the 2026 season with the owners wanting a salary cap and the players not wanting one.
Based on what Soto got, Vlad’s asking price seems about right.
So very strange.
