Every team that has a chance at the playoffs is sucking air! It’s a long season, and we are down to “crunch time.” I am just going to continue to root for the Dodgers and warn the morons to stay away from here. If you disagree… well, you are a dumbass and a moron! I happen to have an aversion to morons and dumbasses! Just go away… you are not welcome here. We all saw the Dodgers walk it off against the Rockies today. Truthfully, the morons and dumbasses were befuddled. They had nothing to say. GOOD! You know where you belong. Don’t come back here.
It took me a long time (I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer), but I realized (finally) that the morons who only have negative things to say are not people I want to be around. You have made your choice. Stay at www.LaDodgerChronicles.com and wallow in your swill. Do not come back here. I am done with you. Good riddance to bad rubbish. I will delete your comments. Free at last. Free at last! Free at last!
Test me! Our commenters have gone down, but our readers are growing like crazy! We add 3-10 new readers every day. I think I am on to something: Readers don’t enjoy morons. OK, so that you know: You can say anything here that is not moronic. Not everything is good. There are negative things, but not everything is negative, and none of you know as much as Dave Roberts, Andrew Friedman, and Brandon Gomes. You have no access. You are bitter old men who don’t know jack shit. Goodbye! Stay away!
Oh, but have a nice day! 😉
7 games left!
This is called, “Drawing a line in the sand!”

There may be less …..but they are real good takes and they don’t suck. Thanks Mark.

I was soooo frustrated with Sat night’s game… 12 runners LOB. Then Freddie hits into a bases loaded double play today. Then he comes through with a clutch RBI single. The walk off back to back was REALLY awesome !!!! Where would we be without Sho-time ??? I’m pretty excited about Gonsolin coming back for the playoffs. Casparius looked good. We have such a talented group of pitchers. Just wish we could keep em healthy. Go Blue !!!!!!
This month, not counting the bullpen games on September 7 and September 20, the Dodgers rotation has a 6.21 ERA with as many starts of three or fewer innings (four) as starts of six or more innings.
Lots of pitchers are trying to come back, and some are gone… or going. They have a week to figure it out…
I am actually glad we have had big games with playoff implications in September. The comeback today ending with the back to back homers to win it was great. Seems like all week the Dodgers have been digging out of early deficits of two or three runs.
Some random thoughts:
1) Buehler seems like a guy who should be a bulk guy after a one or two inning opener. He struggles in the first inning and maybe pitching his first inning against the bottom of the order may help.
2) Is it over the top to say that Lux is the 6th best second baseman on the team behind Taylor, Betts, Hernandez, Edman, and Rojas? I am pretty sure that Lux will be on the post season roster but he is struggling offensively and defensively.
3) The bullpen locks appear to be Kopech, Phillips, Treinen, Graterol, Vesia, Brasier, and Banda (if healthy). I think Kelly and Hudson are questionable, at this point. They are going to need some multi-inning guys in pen. Is that where Gonsolin and Knack fit in if they are not “starters” and Kershaw and Buehler fill the third and fourth starter roles.
4) The Padres seem to the team best positioned for success in NL playoffs. They have four viable post season starters in Darvish, Cease, Musgrove, and King, a bullpen headed by Suarez, Scott, and Adams and a deep line up. Of course, we know it does not guarantee anything but this upcoming series will be great to watch.
Enjoy this last week. Great time to be a baseball, and Dodger, fan.
Finally: Amen!
Maybe Casparius can sneak into the postseason bullpen with a few more strong outings….
The Dodgers’ offense is hitting on all cylinders, but the pitching is iffy. Just a few weeks ago, it looked like Lux was finally living up to the hype. Oh well. Another streaky player.
The Brewers, Padres and Phillies are all formidable teams–and of course any WC team could catch the breaks and win…
.
While I certainly expect the front office to make some moves in the off-season, this is what the position roster could look like only using players we know will be under contract.
DH–Shohei (Smith)
C–Smith, Barnes (Feduccia, Cartaya)
1B–Freeman, Rushing
2B–Mookie, Lux (assuming Mookie is indeed moved)
3B–Max, Taylor, Rojas
SS– Edman, Rojas, Taylor
LF–Rushing, Taylor
CF–Outman, Edman, Pages
RF–Pages, Outman, Taylor
That would be a formidable, playoff-bound group even without enhancements. With Shohei back into a six-man rotation, perhaps the Dodgers will give him an occasional day off from DH.
If Mookie is moved back to 2B, and I expect that to happen, what is the logic of keeping Lux around to get a few games here and there and a few pinch hit appearances. If Mookie is the every day second baseman, Lux should be traded.
If Mookie goes to 2B full-time–and why not?–I agree that Lux should be traded. Pages has the arm for RF, and he’s much better in a corner than at CF. (Of course the Dodgers also could bring back Teo, or get another decent FA for lower cost.)
Not long ago, I thought Lux could be a headliner in a blockbuster. Now I think he’d be a complementary piece, or perhaps traded straight up for a prospect.
At any rate, several teams need to rebuild over the winter, especially the White Sox.
It’s been reported that the Dodgers wanted Crochet this summer, but refused to include Rushing in a deal. Good decision, I think.
If the Dodgers still covet Crochet, perhaps the offer could shift to Lux + Cartaya/Feduccia + SP (Wrobleski?). And how about Ryan Ward, Lipcius, Avans and others that seem blocked in OKC? The White Sox need ML-ready talent and might part with some teenage prospects.
Another notion: Perhaps the Dodgers think they can fix the Angels’ Reid Detmers, a first-round lefty who has flashed ace potential (including a no-hitter) but is now struggling. The Dodgers love their SP rehab projects.
Would a Lux-Detmers deal make sense?
….The Padres seem to the team best positioned for success in NL playoffs…….
That seems like where we have been the last two seasons and look where that got us. Just saying.,…
Mark = legend
My only question is, “What if we’re all morons?”
We ARE all morons. It’s the human condition. Just not on Dodgers baseball opinions.
I think the Dodger brain trust will come up with the best pitchers to start the various games. It does not mean each will succeed but I think they know by now the signs the pitcher needs to come out. Because so many are coming back from injury I don’t expect any of the games starters to go more than 5 innings whether at the beginning, middle or end of the game.
So now two people consider Mark a legend?
I consider myself to be a rumor in my own time. Or at least was.
I think I heard that rumor…
“What hump?”
Stick around Duke.
Every village needs one.
Book em
I have never denied I am a moron.
It’s just my site! 😉
Rams Win, Dodgers walk it off….
Great Sunday!
… and Indy finally won a game…
There ya go! Good all the way around….
Had Rams on TV and Dodgers on my phone, was a crazy 45 minutes there at the end….
And USC lost
Im a Clemson guy so good weekend all around.
Lets say we win 1 of 3 (AT WORST vs SD).
We would be 1 game up vs them heading into the final Series (They have the Tiebreaker).
So lets say we win 2-3 in Coors, SD would need to SWEEP AZ IN AZ to win the Division.
I like our chances and keeps us hungry till the end….
I know it hasn’t worked out the last couple years, but it would be nice to give our pitching staff a week off. That could make a huge difference this year. IMO
Oh yeah, and it might just be for one day but please remind me who has the best record in Major League baseball today?
Please, can someone explain to me, if the season ends today, Padres, Diamondbacks and Mets are in playoffs as wildcards, who versus who plays first? I’m too lazy to look it up on the internet.
Mets Vs Brewers
Snakes Vs Pads
We’d play winner of SD vs AZ
We’d play the winner of Mets vs Brewers if we win the Division and are the 2 seed with the second best record which I prefer happening..
It’s not nice to call people morons. Imbeciles and idiots might be more appropriate.
Don’t forget douchebags and numbnutzes, very under used these days! 🙂
SD or ARZ And that would be because they have the best record, I think it would be better to finish with the second best record. And not because of fear of the wild cards, but because again, as has been happening in recent years, facing teams on a roll would not be the best idea. I think it would be less difficult to beat MIL or NYM.
I have a more appropriate name for those #@$@, instead of douchebags, numbnutzes, morons or idiots better to call them “SD fans” we automatically know that means being quite STUPID!
Can someone explain to me why Mark is so grumpy? What happened? Who the morons are or were?
Admittedly I haven’t been here much.
I dont think he is grumpy at all. IN fact I think hes the happiest on this site that I have seen!!!
Lets talk SD now.
Right on!
I had my fill of the bitchers and moaners and guys who are smarter than Friedman and Doc (in their minds).
I’m free at last!
Morons, trolls and unhappy little people can post elsewhere. If your only purpose here is to stir the pot, you have already lost at life.
That was a great summary!
Bluto: I will give you my two cents worth of who the morons are. I will not name names but will try to list the characteristics of said group.
1. Constantly harping on the negative instead of fully understanding how lucky we are to be Dodgers fans.
2. Absolute “know it all” comments. I personally find this pretty arrogant, the definition of which is “unwarranted pride”. Instead of saying here is a suggestion for what should be done, they keep saying this should be done, as if it is definite. They actually believe they know more than the powers to be, which is the most moronic attitude ever. I always get a kick out of them using IMHO (in my humble opinion) when they say something it is the furthest thing it is the furthest thing from humility.
3. The constant ability to pick fights. They would argue that Mark is the one who constantly picks fights. I read this site carefully everyday and IMHO, Mark only engages when engaged with moronic statements.
As I’ve said before, I have been a Dodgers fan since watching games with my Grandfather at Ebbets Field. We have had great teams and great seasons over the years, but nothing like we have now. Morons are people that can’t appreciate that.
Thanks!
The uninformed acting as informed is truly a bane on good conversation.
I don’t post a lot but……
I always look forward to your comments, whenever or wherever you post.
Respectfully as the Dodgers make their late-season push to clinch the best record in baseball and hopefully a deep run into the playoffs the phrase, “Moron” is used less and less on my go-to Dodger blog.
Let’s sweep the Madres!!
Mark: I just posted and it didn’t appear.
It just appeared. Thanks.
While as noted – the site definitely has fewer posters, it is a much more pleasant site than previous.
It was a great day to be a LA sports fan – both awesome endings.
There were multiple discussions on this site during the pre-season about the Dodger’s failures there past few years and what if anything it had to do with them running away with the division.
To be completely honest, I think we all thought the same would occur this year with the new additions.
So now we literally have a pennant race, which the Dodgers can definitely lose. The next three games will definitely put a spotlight on the guys like Betts, Freeman and others who did not come though the past few post-seasons.
Also, agreed that Mark seemingly is in a better place with this new format/restrictions.
Hopefully, enough so he continues this blog next year as I know he has only committed to continuing this site through this season. No pressure or sub-liminal suggestions are intended – hah-hah!
Name calling isn’t an argument.
Disagreeing with our host doesn’t warrant being called a moron.
Having a point of view is OK, even if it isn’t the same as yours (or Mark’s).
We are all long-time fans here. Most are well-informed.
But Mark hasn’t kicked me off yet so I guess I’m OK
That’s the key. . .
Maybe it bears repeating. Mark owns this site. So the people here are guests in his house. In the past there were a lot of comments that you would never see if you were a guest in someone’s house, and would say that shit to his face, and if you did do that no one would argue with him quickly kicking your ass out of his house.
Cheers
Pretty sure you’d be OK even if Mark kicked you off…
A moron is defined as one who is lacking in intelligence, one who is deficient in judgment or sense.
Disagreeing with me is not the issue.
While I don’t always agree with DodgerRick, he does not always say the same old sad stuff. He generally has a take and does not suck.
Disagreement with me is absolutely fine. Just don’t be a moron.
When Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart was asked to describe his test for obscenity in 1964, he responded: “I know it when I see it.”
That’s how I view morons: “I know them when I see them!”
This is the most exciting September in quite a while. The Pods play 3 here and go into the desert where the Snakes will be fighting for a playoff berth. If both make the playoffs they will be fighting to get through the first round. I hope they beat the heck out of each other.
Ideally we end up with best record so we get home field and the bye. Second best we get the bye. We NEED the bye ! Our staff has to have it to put us in a position to succeed in the postseason.
Mookie gave us the MO and ………….
Go Dodgers
Just do not see the need to call anyone names period. We all are Dodger fans, and we all have opinions.
You can think what you want dude. Heck, you decided to wonder if the Dodgers were a sinking ship today on the other site, and even posted lame ass picture to back it up. Whether we are losing in the playoffs, in my opinion that was not the kind of crap that a fan even wonders about. For me, I just say we’ll get them next year. But again, it’s your article and I can stop reading it as soon as I read that kind of junk.
Your choice, you don’t like what Jeff, and I write, don’t post there. It was a question, not a statement. Maybe you need your eyes checked. I asked for opinions, and I got them If you want to choose the subjects, start your own site. As for the photo, well it fit the question.
Hey, if I don’t like what you and Jeff post I can still comment there. And you can delete it or not. I honestly don’t give a single shit either way. I’m just out having fun! And I’m certainly not out there opining that the Dodgers may be a sinking ship. Me thinks maybe you spend too much time there, and you have become more negative because of it. See how opinions work?
You talk a lot of shit and we all know you can’t back it up.
So, just to be clear, I am not calling people names. I am just identifying what they are.
I also wish them peace. Charlie Rich said it well. Listen Closely:
Your site Mark, you can do as you please and I get that. But picking on the guys who post on Jeff’s site and naming that site personally is a little over the line. We all love the team. We should all be able to get along without any name calling period. Jeff is one of the good guys. He doesn’t block fans from posting on his site. Even though I can think of one that should be. And we both know who that is.
Bear, I do this for fun and it was not any fun for a while. It is again.
This is not a site for Freedom of Speech, and I have decided who I want to invite into my house. It’s fun again.
Like I said, it is your site, and I respect that.
You actually obviously do not.
Well, I respect you and Jeff. You have some great stuff.
I just cannot read the comments. I see you stand up to the Morons every day. It does no good.
The majority of the commenters there are from here.
I just did not want them to continue to rob me of my joy.
The past month has been bliss. Maybe I won’t shut down the site now.
Baseball should be fun… at least as far as I am concerned. If it is a bummer, then stop and just read the news if you want to be depressed.
And… by the way. They can say what they want… just not here! 😉
To slightly reimagine a line from the Jane’s Addiction song “Pigs in Zen”……
“Some people should be blocked that’s just unconscious knowledge”
Talkin’ ’bout the piiiiigs
Yeah like you let douchebags like Andes post there and say all kinds of s*** about people. Then when I call him a douchebag you delete that post. And then all the other ex posters from here start calling Mark names left and right and you leave those posts up too. You’re real effing peach dude.
If that is true, then they are pieces of shit!
Scott Andes is one of the most worthless human beings who ever lived.
I fully agree, Bear.
For a couple years in college, I majored in philosophy. Perhaps that’s why I think some of the Socratic discourse here has boiled down to this:
“Mark’s site rules! The other site drools!”
I don’t get it. Jeff’s site is fine, and Bear’s contributions to it are much appreciated. And I appreciate Bear’s comments here.
Perhaps this is just an extension of the age-old battle between the empiricists and the rationalists, who are sometimes quite irrational.
… or perhaps you are a dumbass!
I think In should show you the door too.
Bye!
Everyone has brought their A-Game today. Some really good stuff. I think we have turned the corner of turning around the culture at this website.
Who is the Dodgers best pitcher right now? Some might say Landon Knack. Some may wonder why he’s not getting any love. Others might say he’s going to have a huge part in our world series aspirations. Doc says Striker could start in Oct. Gonsolin might have something to say about that. If Knack wraps up the Madres, yes I’m a name caller, game 3 has his name all over it. And Tony will start game 4.
Don’t be boring!
Book em
At this stage of the game, I don’t have an opinion, but I believe the Dodgers will field three starters and a Lock-Down Bullpen! The only team that can touch the Dodgers bullpen in the NL is the Brewers… but their pen is toasted.
It’s all going to boil down to Gut Check Time.
Flaherty
Yamamoto……. Every other start. When his stuff is on it looks great, and then…..
My dream–and I do believe this team can win it all–revolves around decent starting pitching [Flaherty, Yamamoto, Buehler, Knack/Kershaw], strong relief work [possibly including Gonsolin] and a relentless offense.
The manager needs to push all the right buttons, the defense needs to be sharp & the baserunning has to be smart and aggressive.
Also, Muncy & Teo have to anchor the non-top 3 portion of the lineup. Edman needs to continue to rake and Lux to find his groove again.
The key will be the bullpen, who will be called upon nightly to provide big clean innings. Graterol could be a key weapon.
I never post but read every day. Been a Dodger lover since 1956. Mark I appreciate how you have managed the ship in recent months and it has improved the daily read with the morons in another location. Funny that today all was well until Norris, who does write some great history, decided to once again chastise Mark. This only confirms all that Mark has done has been good management. While this season has had some ups and downs I have never enjoyed a season more!! Love seeing all the maneuvers by front office and great to see minor league talent have a shot!! Just thankful that the team will take us to the playoff level no matter the outcome! And 2025 should only be better!
Thank you Gary. Bear (Michael) is a good guy who has been exposed to the darkside too long. 😉 He will be fine. Jeff and Bear will figure it out… or maybe go insane! 😉
I also agree that the best is yet to come.
I’m fairly new to these blogs. I came across this one last year and love it. I like the other site especially Bear and his history lessons. Being a coach for over 20 years in mainly in high school but some college and then being in politics 18 years (thank God that’s over in January), I’m not sure what I haven’t been called. My philosophy has always been “it’s never okay to be mean.” What I have found in my experience is people are real brave when that never have to show their face or for that matter use their real name. After my term is up hopefully I’ll use my full name but probably wait a year or so. That all said, I really enjoy reading the articles in both blogs. Prefer the comments on this blog until they go after Bear. He hasn’t attacked anyone that I have read. Sometimes he may get caught up trying to rationalize some all the wall comment but that is Bear being Bear. I hope to meet Mark and Bear one day. I live within 5 hours of Bear and I have a gold card baseball pass so I get to Cincy or in Mark’s neighborhood. As John Lennon would say “Give Peace a Chance.”
I’ll look forward to that.
I know who you are, and I would love to meet you in Cincy, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, or LA . Let me know…
Did you ever know Ed _______________ (I can’t think of his last name, but he was in charge of Federal Prisons and was from Kansas?)
Ed Klump? If so great guy. I can hit all those places. Being a life long Dodger fan, I’m kind of holding out going to Dodger stadium until a dear friend that’s an umpire is working the World Series and the Dodgers are in. It happened unfortunately that was COVID year so I had to settle watching him work the World Series with the Dodgers in it, in Freaking Texas. I’m not a big Texas fan.
John,
It was Edward F. Reilly Jr. who was an American former politician from the state of Kansas. He served in the Kansas state legislature for 29 years, and was a leader in policy on prisons and corrections.
Never had the opportunity to meet him. The , maybe only thing I’m going to miss in not being in the Capitol is some of the people you get to meet. If you find yourself near Kansas City before January, let me know, I’ll give you and your bride a personal tour of the Capitol. Some awful things happen there but the building is beautiful.
I met him on a cruise. He was in his 60’s. I was nearly 50 and we both had young boys who became fast friends. His wife had died. We had a great time on the cruise and then life happened.
My wife and I love DC. Founding Farmers is our fav restaurant.
We were in DC on Jan 6… but not at the Capital. 😉
Mr Norris has absolutely attacked me by the way. And my name is Mark hence I don’t use it on this site.
Good name!
