I wasn’t around much yesterday, but this morning, I read several things that were funny, silly, crazy, and mostly just plain wrong… to the point that I have to address them:
#1 – That I have a deep hatred of Eric: That’s funny, silly, crazy, and mostly just plain wrong. I actually like the guy, but I am not afraid to call him out. The hatred part is simply his imagination running wild – no matter how much he wants to feel persecuted… That’s all I will say about it. I, too, think James Outman will be back this year, probably in the next four to six weeks. I also agree with Eric about the structure of this team. I have not lost hope at all. I think Doc is running the team like a Country Club right about now. “No urgency, just show up – well turn up the volume later. Let’s not peak now, please! Leave it on cruise control until after the All-Star Game. We’re trying something different this year!” Now, the Dodgers won’t say that, but I truly think they are just chilling!
#2 – Playing SS is wearing Mookie down: Huh? Why doesn’t it wear others down? You actually run more in the outfield than at SS. Now, I am not against getting a top-tier SS, but I am also fine with Mookie at SS and Gavin Lux at 2B if he starts hitting, and he had two hits last night. Mookie wasn’t playing SS much last year when he hit .235 in April and .269 in May. He then hit .309 in June, .305 in July, and .455 in August, before hitting .244 in September and October. Mookie is just incredibly streaky – when he gets in the groove, he is able to repeat it for a long time. That’s why he has bowled multiple 300 games, and when he is cold, he is cold. He started hot this year and hit .368 in March and April. He is at .276 in May. He will probably hit .400 next month. That’s just Mookie. To blame it on playing SS is simply creating a false assumption.
#3 – The Dodgers should trade for CJ Abrams: The kid is a blooming superstar. He’s still raw and getting stronger, but I do not think a package of Rushing, Vargas, DePaula, Vargas 2, Miller, and Knack would be enough to pry him away from the Nats who are grooming him to be the face of their franchise. It ain’t happening! That is funny, silly, and crazy!
#4 – The Hating on Lindor – MLB ranks SS in Tiers. Tier 1: Bobby Witt Jr., Trea Turner/ Tier 2: Corey Seager, Francisco Lindor, Bo Bichette, Elly De La Cruz, CJ Abrams. Lindor has not done great in NY. I happen to think he’s more of an LA Kind of Guy, and with Mookie and RVS, he would return to his old self. $237 Million in nothing nowadays! He has rarely been injured – He averages over 150 games a year and is younger than Mookie. The Dodgers owe Mookie about the same amount! I would take Lindor in a heartbeat over Bichette, but I would also consider Bichette. However, Lindor is elite defensively. Bo is not! Now, I do understand that most of these proposed trades by fans never happen… so there is that.
Last night’s game actually gave me more hope in Striker Buehler. I think he will be Top Tier in a month. I also was happy to see Pages and Lux each get two hits… at the expense of anyone else hitting. š It would be great if they could get going! This is a game of adjustments. Banda and Y-Ramirez also looked good. I can’t see the Dodgers needing any bullpen help unless disaster strikes with so many arms on the IL that should be back. However, it is looking more and more like the Bazooka will miss the season.
Max Muncy’s oblique is not responding. I listened to Doc yesterday, and he said the Medical Staff had diagnosed it as a Grade 1, but maybe it is worse. He tried swinging a bat this week and was shut down. I do not expect to see him until after the All-Star Game. Therefore, let’s see what Andre Lipcuis can do. I am not convinced he is a real prospect, but if you leave him at OKC, you will never know.
The problem with OKC is that the air is pretty thin in places… especially where they are right now: Albuquerque! They scored 14 runs there last night, 11 on Thursday night, 6 on Wednesday, and 6 on Tuesday. So, when I hear Outman was 4-6 and Lipcuis was 3-6, I have to take that with a grain of caution. In LA, they may have been 0-fer! The PCL confuses everything. Maybe the club is changing their name from “Dodgers” to something else because they know the Dodgers are leaving the PCL and moving to Indianapolis, where the air is heavier. I can dream, can’t I? I would buy a suite if they did.

Joendry Vargas went 4-5 with a BB and a HR yesterday. Now hitting .360. Kid could be really special (just like dePaula who got two hits yesterday and now batting a respectable .260 after staring very slow) and hopefully the Dodgers will put him on the fast track. Could use a ss badly.
I too see a country club atmosphere around the Dodgers this season. If so, then please stick M.Vargas at 3b to get his bat into the lineup every day. He has played 2b and 3b before and though not a magician in the field he should be able to handle the position with a country club ballclub.
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeondry, De Paula and Liranzo are three young prospects who could be special. Each is probably three season away–two if we’re lucky…. and maybe one season if we become the Angels. I also remain optimistic about Kendall George, Zyhir Hope and others. And there are so many good arms too.
The depth is one reason I’m not averse to the dreaded “overpay” for premium talent.
But as far as this season is concerned, a few points:
–Yes, bring up Lipcius for a look-see while Max is recovering. I’ve read that his power surge is the result of fresh Dodgers coaching. Perhaps he really has kicked his career to a new level, like Max, JT and Taylor did in past years.
–But how to make room for Lipcius? Taylor is still the sore spot on the roster. Would he accept a stint in OKC? If not, would the Dodgers DFA him? (I doubt it.) But I do think that Taylor should take one for the team and be willing to do some work on the farm. (Certainly OKC seems to have helped Outman get back on track.)
–Nice game for Pages today. He’s had five hits in the last two games, so maybe his slump is over. The Dodgers opted to start Heyward instead of Vargas, which I think is unfortunate. Like Pages, Vargas should get opportunities against both lefties and righties. Dodgers have time to determine whether Vargas is more than a platoon leftfielder. Why aren’t they? Have they already passed judgment?
To the extent that they are engaged in an internal competition, I think the Dodgers brass now probably rates Pages first, Outman second and Vargas third.
My thinking:
–Pages’ potential has long been recognized. He’s now showing what he can, including play any OF position. His arm plays well in RF.
–Outman is battling the dreaded sophomore jinx after a strong but inconsistent rookie campaign. He’s proven he can be plus centerfielder who can produce close to an ,800 OPS while stealing about 20 bases.
–Vargas is considered the best bat-to-ball guy but he’s now limited to left field. Again, why don’t the Dodgers see if he can handle the job full-time?
My guess is that a trade will clarify the competition.
i would do the Lindor trade but , give Lux around 15 more games before trading for lindor. ā¦. I agree Mark, bring up Lipcuis now! you never know! ā¦. Whatās going on in dodger stadium?? A pitcher with an ERA of almost 6 looks like Cy Young!! Flip ohthani and Freddie, or maybe even put Will in the 3 spot and Ohtani cleanup! Shake it up Doc!! ā¦. Maybe Doc should hug the hitters!!! Why do broadcasters put a āyā on every player s name? Vargy, miggy, etc. I guess NERDY Nelson canāt help himself!! AWFUL in the boothy!!
I think the Dodgers put the Y on everybody’s name , and the announcers just go with the flow.
I’ve heard Roberts refer to Outman as “Outty,” which is just odd. Will Smith as “Smitty” is old school.
The Dodgers are NOT doing the Lindor trade . Bichette is a better and cheaper trade option. Lux ,Knack and another player for Bichette.
The Dodgers do miss Muncy’s Left handed bat in the lineup,
Buehler wasnāt as sharp last night but still managed to get through 6 innings. He also was not helped much by the defense in the third inning. The first hit should have been an error on Rojas as he misplayed an 81 mph ground ball hit right at him. Later Teoscar should have thrown out the runner at 3rd base on a Bryant single. And then Pages turned a single into a triple. I wouldnāt be surprised to see the Rojas play changed to an error and Buehler only charged with one earned run for the game.
Completely with you. I too thought that was an error on Rojas .
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!
First on Buehler. He had 2 outs and they scored 3. In my opinion Rojas should have handled the ball down at third that would have been 3 outs inning over. So I feel like he gave up the homer. As much as he struggled with command I feel he only allowed 1 earned.
Lindor is a fine player he is just not going to be a Dodger. It would turn out to be him or lux. He is better than lux but that is one of the mlb worst contracts. Not happening.
Pages got 2 hits but at the most critical juncture he struck out. That is a playoff at bat and predictably he struck out. He is not the only one but Hernandez, Muncy, Ohtani are going to strike out we donāt need more of that. That is why outman doesnāt fit with 35 percent k.
Itās a long way from playoffs but Betts is so streaky hot or cold. As a leadoff hitter I wish he would quit swinging at so many first pitches. He can work the count better than anyone we have. It is such a downer to c him , Ohtani, and Freddie go 1,2,3 on less than 10 pitches. I have never seen freemen strike out and swing at pitches out of the zone more than this season. Mb it is because I am watching more games but he has been disappointing.
The Dodgers always seem to be on cruise control. Never any urgency. One of the worst pitchers in the game make them look terrible. Ho hum rinse, wash, repeat.
Yeah, Pages struck out on that AB, ..BUT he extended that AB to (I think) 11 pitches by fouling off a lot pitches deep into the count before he eventually struck out. So it was still a pretty decent AB for him. And on his 2 hits that day, he showed improvement in that he hit 2 “away pitches” to the opposite field. So he might be improving as a hitter. Just give him more time, maybe a few more weeks, then see where he is then.
Actually, it wasn’t “away pitches” on both of Pages’ 2 hits yesterday. One of them was an inside pitch that he fought off for a single over the infield. But the point is that I think there’s a reasonable chance Pages will improve as a hitter over the next few weeks. I hope so.
Can someone explain what this ācountry clubā or ācruise controlā means? Not enough arguing? Throwing tantrums? Bunting?
So Mark is the one who specifically offered the country-club/cruise-control narrative as a “theory posited as fact”..
So why not specifically ask HIM to explain it?
I know Mark does not need me to step up for him but if I am not mistaken it was me who wrote something like Country club mentality on the Dodgers a few days ago.
I wrote it when I read somewhere that Doc is not managing for wins in May, even forfeiting winnable games in favor of giving rest to certain players in certain situations with an eye on October.
Eric Karros in his days was famous for an approach like that too. He always used to say “it is still early, can not win the WS in May, lot of baseball to be played yaddayaddayadda”. Only to find himself and the team coming up short every year came playoff time.
My impression is the Dodgers for the last few weeks have lacked emotion, will, guile and intensity on the field and this may be directly connected to the manager saying he does not manage for every win in May.
We will see how it plays out. But if that is what Doc is doing then he should start Vargas at 3b to get him regular at bats. Vargas maybe will lose you a game or two due to his defensive deficiencies but you will get a good reading where he really is as a hitter.
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I agree Vargas needs more AB’s to get a better reading on where he is now as a hitter, and I agree with you and Mark that Doc & the Dodgers are not pushing everyone to win-at-all-cost at this point in the season.
My point was specifically at Bluto. Clearly it was Mark’s country-club//cruise-control narrative that he responded to.. yet he didn’t ask Mark himself, but instead wanted “someone” (meaning others) to explain it to him.
Well, it’s not fact – I said it’s what I think. So it’s an opinion. A Country Club is an atmosphere of Exclusivity and Position. It’s not always based on merit. Cruised Control implies no urgency. It’s impossible to run a Horse Race at top speed. It might kill the horse, so sometimes they are cruising until the 4th turn, and the jockey goes to the whip. I think Doc will wait a while before he goes to the whip! š
Whether “theory” or fact, I agree with your premise Mark.
Like last October?
Bluto as the GOAT Iām sure u can figure it out.
On my good days I’m good, not great and certainly not the greatest.
But thanks!
Yaz
Sure, Mookie’s past history shows he is a streaky hitter who can be very hot or very cold ..so of course those patterns repeating themselves are always possible with him. But so far 59 games into the season he’s experienced no offensive “streaks” – just a blazing hot start through early April followed by a very gradual, shallow, extended decline in batting proficiency since then. Whether the obvious mental strain of playing SS has anything to do with this is anyone’s guess, but it’s not far-fetched to think it might be now ..or could later on.. affect his offense. ..as others earlier have said could happen too.
Saturday schedule
4:05 p.m. PT: Great Lakes (Peter Heubeck) at West Michigan (Joe Miller)
5 p.m.: Tulsa (Kendall Williams) vs. Northwest Arkansas (Tyson Guerrero)
5:15 p.m.: Oklahoma City (Ben Casparius) at Albuquerque (Karl Kauffmann)
5:35 p.m.: Rancho Cucamonga (Bobby Miller) at Lake Elsinore (Isaiah Lowe)
Second rehab start for Bobby Miller, who threw 55 pitches in three innings last Sunday in Rancho Cucamonga.
The Dodgers currently have 39 on the 40 man roster. Is there a trade in the works or an unknown signing? Will someone not on the 40 man be brought up from AAA OKlahoma City? Any thoughts???
There are 26 on the active roster… so anything could happen.
Last night’s hitting performance looked like a replay of the last two Octobers.
I think the team lacks grit and players who are “grinders” due to their intensity, desire to win every game, compete on every pitch, etc. We have a roster of high-character, high-caliber professionals and I am grateful for that. However, at 36% of games played, those of us who watch/follow every game notice trends. I notice that Ohtani has a lower avg with RiSP and is not yet clutch, we let non-ace pitchers dominate us too often, the offense feels/emotionless at times. There is plenty of season to go, but I think we need to add a grinder. Given who is/isn’t available I recommend trading for Nolan Aranado — the cards are not making the playoffs, Nolan wants to win, and he controls which teams he can be traded to.
Mb now is a time for a Tommy Pham type. Someone who will put some fire in the lineup. Just someone who will act like they are ticked when things donāt go right. Although I believe Buehler is that type. Doc mb act like he cares after a loss.
As far as the 26 man roster we could have a reliever such as Kelly coming back. If he is added someone has to go. On the player side Vargas and Pages have options otherwise a dfa. On the pitcher side Grove, Vesia, and mb Banda have options or a dfa. Thatās why AF keeps churning the bullpen because he has few options.
The Cardinals are 1/2 game out of a Wild Card spot with 2/3 of the season remaining. How can you be so sure they won’t make the playoffs?
Could not watch the game last night as all Rockies games are blacked out by MLB here in Colorado. Need to subscribe to FUBO to get the game, but I am not paying 80 bucks a month. Listened on the radio for a bit and then watched a couple Star Wars movies. A lot more entertaining. Bichette or Lindor? Don’t think either will happen, but that is just me. I think they will tweak the outfield. If Lux does not pick it up soon, a trade might come around the deadline. But as lethargic as the offense has been lately, it might come sooner. It is a waste of time and energy to speculate who they might get. Usually, I am wrong anyway. One player I would go all in on if he came available is Tucker of the Astros. He would solve a lot of problems. I don’t hate Lindor, I just do not see the Dodgers taking on that kind of financial burden. They have four guys on long term deals now, Ohtani, Smith, Yamamoto and Betts. 239 mil might not be a lot of money these days, but the penalty of being over the CBT by that much would impact the team for years. Read a story this morning that the Dodgers made a late push to sign Snell. But the Giants got wind of that and increased their offer. So far it seems the Dodgers dodged a bullet there. Snell has sucked. The schedule this month is really whacked. Home for the Rockies for just three, back to the east coast for six, then back home for six, on the road for four, home for two, then back on the road for six more. Just an awful schedule. The Padres are five and a half games back of the Dodgers. The Dodgers play only five more games against them the rest of the season. Two in San Diego the end of July, and then three in Los Angeles the 24th through the 26th of September, before finishing the season with three in Colorado.
Agree about Tucker too, but Dodgers can’t outbid others in a trade for him.
You are probably right, but I would love to see AF really go overboard on a player of his caliber.
Well, AF & ownership went “financially overboard” on 2 players this past off-season. Maybe they’re willing to go overboard with their prospect capital on trades in-season. I know I’m talking apples to oranges, ..but who knows. The needle for this team needs moving, and Tucker in a Dodgers uniform would definitely do that.
A couple of things from MLBTR. Padres put Musgrove on the 15-day IL. Jays put Romano on the 15-day IL. Steve Adams of MLBTR seems to believe that if the Jays sell off any players, he does not believe that either Bichette or Guererro will be the ones sold. He believes it will be left-handed starter, Kikuchi. The Orioles lost two starting pitchers to season ending surgery, John Means and Tyler Wells. Dodgers released Kevin Padlo, and the Mets released Ji-man Choi from his minor league deal. Several players who are on minor league contracts, can opt out today. Drew Pomeranz, who opted out of his Dodger contract and signed with the Giants, was DFAd by SF not throwing an inning for them and is a free agent again.
Farhan wants so badly to be able to rehabilitate a former Dodger.
The Padres placed Darvish on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left groin strain.
The Padres placed Musgrove on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right elbow inflammation, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
06/01/24 Los Angeles Dodgers traded SS Elio Campos to Atlanta Braves for cash.
This the time to bury the Padres in the standings.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Dodgers may be exploring adding an outfielder at the deadline. The name that has come up is veteran right-hander Tommy Pham, currently with the Chicago White Sox.
āEven then, the Dodgers would be wise to explore the market for outfielders, who at the deadline generally are in ample supply. The White Soxās Tommy Pham, a favorite of some in the organization, would be one possibility.ā
Per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic
Well ,Pages is really coming back around. He is hitting and starting to look like he did when we thought he be an outfielder for the next several years.
If Muncy is out for a long time then bring up Lipcius who leads the AAA in Homer’s to play thirdbase trade for Lindor at shortstop move mookie to second and Freeman is at first there its settled. But you still need a consistant hitter in the outfield. I say go after Tyler O’Neil because he signed only a one year contract with Boston and will be a free agent again he can play LF or Rf and then put Heyward in centerfield and either keep Pages up or then bring Outman back. This would all be if Muncy needs surgery and out along time.
Obliques don’t require surgery… just rest.
Tyler O’Neill strikes out at a 34% clip. He’s RH James Outman.
I have a better idea than than Pham. PLAY VARGAS!
O’Neill is on the IL currently; he is only hitting .236. He has also been accident prone the last few years. Even though he has 11 homers, he has only driven in 17 runs. His OPS and OPS+ are decent though.
True Mark, ..but are the Dodgers telling the whole truth about Muncy’s injury?
Exactly! The Dodgers need to play Vargas REGULARLY! Otherwise, what was the point of his promotion from OKC??
I think they are. Obliques are notoriously difficult. Ryan Pepiot missed most of the season last year with one. They are hard to diagnose correctly and often linger… making them highly unpredictable.

Sometimes thatās why I like this place- if anything, it makes for a helluva readā¦
Iām beginning to sound like a broken record even to myself , but I keep putting off an assessment of the Blue Crew; thereās just so many moving parts right now. This recent slog before the REAL dog days could easily be forgotten once the Dodgers have one of their annual obligatory hot streaks through the schedule – a 10 wins in 12 games type run; a 15-3 run, 20-5, something like that.
I can buy into part of the thesis of this post. If Iām allowed to overthink, my mind is telling me that the decision makers believe this team will win 90-100 gamesā100+ with some breaks ā based on personnel, talent, culture, structure, experience, āDodger wayā, yada, yada, yadaā¦As a result of this thinking, it looks like the team is on autopilot at times, just going through the motions, a form of self-preservation in order to be at an optimal level of performance and intensity when the postseason arrives. Based on past playoff results, I suppose anythingās worth a tryā¦.
Iāll let Roberts manage and Iāll stick to giving unsolicited thoughts- I wouldnāt mind seeing Vargas get more at bats. But maybe thereās a plan. Let him watch, learn, hang out and take in the whole major league experience. In his first real go of it, Vargas was given a runway and things didnāt soar for him. This time, it looks like a more cautious approach taken by the Dodgers. Plus, thereās just not many open spots and others need at bats too. I like Outman, I like Vargas, but to me, one clearly is the more natural hitter with better swing mechanics. Results may suggest otherwise to this point, but with Outman, Iām starting to believe itās a situation of what you see from him is about what youāre getting get out of him, on average: he is what he is. With Vargas, I think thereās more , the potential to make significant improvements appear more likely than with Outmanā¦.Just my depreciated two-cents
Salutā¦.
I still remember their historic 43-7 run. What fun that was, and then in 23, they went 24-4 in August. Mookie went off, and then in August, he crashed back to earth and never really returned. Maybe the plan is to finish on a high note this time.

This is calculated.
I don’t understand, but hopefully, they do.
Since they’ve brought him up from OKC, the Dodgers have eschewed giving Vargas the regular AB’s he necessarily needs to get in rhythm and develop as a major-league hitter.
So of course this is calculated ..but to what end?
You tell me and we will both know! š
GOOD NEWS!!!!!!
Kershaw (shoulder) threw live batting practice before Saturday’s game against the Rockies, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Saturday marks the first time Kershaw has faced live hitters after spending the past month throwing bullpen sessions, though he was only able to pitch one simulated inning. He will continue to build up his workload over his next several live BP sessions before heading out on a rehab assignment with one of the Dodgers’ minor-league affiliates. Assuming the 36-year-old southpaw doesn’t run into any setbacks, he appears in line to return to Los Angeles’ rotation in approximately 4-to-6 weeks.
He allegedly hit 88 MPH. He has a ways to go.
The Dodgers often come out flat. It starts with Roberts. He doesn’t manage every game to win. He gives up too easily. The team follows along. They aren’t focused. They make fundamental errors and do not hustle.
It’s not all Roberts fault. Many of his players are low on character and have poor judgement.
Usually, talent wins but sometimes character makes a difference.
What’s that nonsense all about?
What? Dave, sober up!
No Vargas tonight, send him back to OKC to keep him sharp.
Well now I am reading that Doc is going to consider splitting Freddie and Ohtani vs lefties. Will smith is hitting lefties at around a .440 clip while Freddie is hitting around 237. The chess players are doing everything they can to win. Donāt let performance get in the way of a good decision. Donāt want to hurt Freddieās feelings. They all keep saying they are all in to win. Just make the decision Doc u can always switch it back.
If only the top of our lineup could keep up with the bottom!
Not in favor of acquiring Lindor from Mets. Especially at that prospect price. For taking on the remainder of that contract the Mets should take Chris Taylor. Throw in Lux and Knack. But, in reality, donāt see the Dodgers going that route.
Ohtaniās swing has a lot of rotation in it right now. I did not watch him much with the Angels but he seems to chase a lot of balls off the plate and his swing has a lot of rotation and as a result he seems to be pulling off the ball. Is that just his approach and swing?
The way they have handled the Vargas recall still hard to understand. I guess he is going to bat against left handed pitching in a platoon. He had some good at bats in last series against Mets.
Nice to see Pages pushing back a little now. Always a two steps forward and one (or more) step back with young hitters making the adjustment.
For a team that unloaded some real talent from their farm system the past two years, the Padres have some talented young players in their system – Jackson Merrill (20 year old starting CF) Ethan Salas, and Leodalis DeVries.
Regardless of how “meh” Vargas played 2B last year, in reality he didn’t play the position poorly, and he nonetheless was demoted back to OKC specifically because he stopped hitting ML pitchers ..NOT because of his play in the field. So now that his bat shows promise again, get him back in the line-up at 2B so we can truly know if he’s ready to hit in the majors.
I am so over these poser Dodger fans who just post whatever their emotions are telling them on a single ball game. Some tool bag, and I will capitalize TOOLBAG , posted on the Spectrum site tonight that since Mookie went 0 for 5 tonight( still hitting .319, , second best average on the team), he doesnāt understand why every one is so enamored with Betts, even though we won! I feel like Iām on a permanent Acid trip with all these new age gotta go 162-0 or we suck Dodger fans, who are crickets when the team wins, but breaks out the pitchforks and torches the second they lose , just fing embarrassing. This year is especially bad, where do these idiots come from? Are they Giant or Padre fans undercover? Damnā¦.
“Bobby Miller allows 4 runs in 3ā innings in 2nd rehab start
Dodgers RHP allowed three runs in the third inning and one more in the fourth before getting pulled after 10 outs and 65 pitches in his second minor league rehab start. Up next is pitching for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, June 7”. No strikeouts.
Watched the game on MILB. TV. He was all over the plate . Velo was good but no control.
Probably needs a couple more rehab outings. No need to rush him.
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
… and I put ZERO significance as to how he pitched. The only important thing is, “How does he feel today?”
I reached out to a few contacts yesterday and asked, “Why is Miguel Vargas not playing?” To a person, they were all puzzled. One scout said that he believes Vargas has a higher ceiling than Corbin Carroll. As much as Carroll is struggling, I can’t disagree. If Vargas were a rookie, he would easily be the Dodgers Top Prospect, which is why I am puzzled about his lack of PT.
However, I believe it is calculated… for some reason!
Vargas should start today as the Dodgers are facing a left handed pitcher. His last start was against lefty Peterson
in NY against the Mets last Wednesday. Makes no sense not start a young player everyday. I’d rather see him in Oklahoma City getting atbats.AF must have something up his sleeve on Vargas.
Ohtoni is a very fast baserunner, there’s no argument there, but he has to learn to run the bases better while on base. Last night was the third or fourth mistake he’s made getting picked off second in scoring position that could cost the Dodgers in a close game down the road.
