LA DODGER TALK.COM is quite likely the longest-running blog on the internet, having its start over 20 years ago by Mark Timmons. Meet our writers, who have a combined 225 years of experience. Translation: They are old… but they are experienced!

Mark Timmons

Mark Timmons grew up near Dayton, Ohio, and became a Dodger fan when at the age of nine, he sent letters to all twenty-four MLB teams, proclaiming that he was their biggest fan and asking that they send him swag. The Dodgers sent him a huge box full of Dodger Memorabilia (including a baseball autographed by the entire World Series-winning team of 1963. Sadly, the next year, that ball was needed for some sandlot action. Koufax, Drysdale, Fairly, Podres, Moon, Sherry, et al – I wonder what that would be worth now? About fifteen years ago, Mark was the first blogger to sit in the Vin Scully Pressbox at Dodger Stadium.
Mark and his wife of 30 years live South of Indianapolis, where they are semi-retired. Patty owns two restaurants in Bargersville, Indiana (The Baldwin and Lola’s Table), while Mark is the Chairman of US Water Systems, which also owns Penguin Water and Waterlogix, an author (the book “The Mountain Mover” will be released in July 2026), and a public speaker. Their son is the President of US Water Systems, and nine family members work there, out of nearly 100 employees. Mark and Patty have five children and seven grandchildren. Mark says, “Dodger Blue… It’s in my blood!”

He then joined the US Army in December of 1965. Served as a radar tech in HAWK missiles in Korea, 1967-1968, at Ft Bliss, Texas, 1968-1969, 3 years in Wildflecken, Germany, and back to Bliss until he was discharged in October of 1974. Jeff Dominique

Jeff Dominique was born in Hollywood, CA, on June 9, 1952. For 49 of his first 50 years, he resided in the San Fernando Valley, primarily Granada Hills, and he still refers to it as THE Valley.. He was pulled out of his SFV comfort zone when a business proposition in the Bay Area was presented. He now resides in El Dorado Hills, a suburb of Sacramento, about 90 miles west of Heavenly Valley and South Lake Tahoe.
On May 25, 1974, Jeff married his best friend, and this year they will be celebrating their 52nd anniversary. They had three children, but tragically lost their middle child in August 2019, unexpectedly. Their daughter is a school teacher.
Their oldest son played baseball at the highest level. He was an All-American 3B at The University of Nevada, Reno. He was drafted by Philadelphia and was later traded to Boston. With 9 years in MiLB, he was the epitome of a AAAA player, but he does have a WS ring from 2004.
This will be Jeff’s 10th year writing about the Dodgers. He does most of his research and writing from his “office” at Starbucks, where everybody knows his name and the Team he supports.
Note: BTW, the baseball Jeff is holding is his son’s first MLB hit, off Eddie Guardado. Jeff was in Hawaii with his wife, celebrating their 30th anniversary, when their daughter called to let them know that his son’s close friend, John Kruk, brought up his first MLB hit on ESPN that night.
