All About the Kids…

I would not expect Miguel Vargas to debut at 3B in Philly due to the hostile environment, but one never knows. I hear Miggy V is taking balls at 3B at a furious pace and that Dino Ebel and others are working with him. Of course, the Dodgers are not going to trade for a 3B at this time. Maybe it will change at the deadline, but Vargas could fill the void. He’s a couple of years older and wiser than the last time he played 3B. He has the arm, but does he have the talent?

He has 316 games at 3B in the Minor Leagues under his belt, totaling 2,732 innings. His .923 fielding percentage is not very good, but a lot of that was when he was much younger. With maturity and more confidence, it could play out differently. I am from Missouri. However, Miguel will have to show us. He is 24-years-old and will be 25 the days before my birthday. I would not expect to see him at 3B for at least several days, but that is just me.

Prospect Report

Baseball America listed 30 Prospects Generating Buzz In The Dominican Summer League, and Emil Morales is one of them:

Emil Morales, SS, Dodgers
Morales came into the DSL season with big expectations. He was the top signing this year for the Dodgers at $1,897,500 and came with exciting preseason reports on his offensive prowess. Morales has lived up to his reputation, batting .338/.471/.588 in 87 plate appearances, slugging four home runs with 17 walks and 20 strikeouts as a 17-year-old. Morales is 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with the strength and bat speed that allows him to drive the ball with some of the best raw power of any hitter in the DSL, often posting triple-digit exit velocities.
While there has been a tick higher swing-and-miss to his game, he generally has shown a mature offensive approach with a sound righthanded swing. He drives the ball with consistent loft and damage and could grow into a 25-plus home run hitter. He’s a below-average runner who has improved his first-step quickness at shortstop and has a solid-average arm, though he does have six errors in his first 13 games. The Dodgers will probably continue to develop him at shortstop, but third base seems his most likely position as he gets closer to the big leagues.

Emil has a chance at being very special… maybe even staying at SS. Here’s some video:

Maddux Bruns – LHP

Bruns stuff has never been in question. His stuff is filthy, but the only question was, “Can he throw strikes?” He has averaged just under a walk an inning in his career. However, the Dodgers have some optimism now that Rob Hill suggested he move to the 1B side of the rubber and the results have been promising. I what is a small sample, he has already cut down his strikeouts. Even is he doesn’t make it as a starter, with fewer walks, he could become a “lockdown reliever.”

Justin Wrobleski – LHP

With his start on Sunday, he may have earned an opportunity to stay in the rotation. He has the makings of a workhorse and is very impressive. He had Tommy John three years ago, so he should be good for two to three more years. BA has this to say about him, as he is currently ranked by them as the Dodger’s #6 Prospect:

His fastball sits 93-96 mph, touches 98, and gets ugly swings with the angle and deception he creates from a closed-off delivery and short arm stroke. His fastball occasionally flattens out when he spins out of his delivery, but it’s an above-average pitch at its best. Wrobleski has a natural feel for spin and can manipulate the shape and power of his above-average, two-plane slider anywhere from 78-86 mph. He also has an average, 87-91 mph cutter he’ll mix in. Wrobleski’s 86-90 mph changeup has progressed to become a below-average pitch that gives him just enough to handle righthanded hitters. He throws strikes with average control and works quickly.

— Baseball America

I am looking forward to seeing him continue to grow this year. He pitched at Great Lakes last year and in 102 innings put up a 3.25 ERA. This year, he started at Tulsa, and then after 67 innings, he moved to OKC for 10 innings, and now he is in the Show. That where he needs to be… now he needs to bloom where he is planted.

This article has 73 Comments

  1. As long as he is not traded to another team no matter what position he plays, I had already read that Vargas is not “a great glove” at third base, well, Muncy is not a golden glove either!

The kid has done everything they’ve asked him to do, he changed positions and played 2B with injured fingers, then they put him at LF and he did it too, and it’s true that he may never become a gold glove player in any position, but at least he knows how to hit.

Leave him alone… Give him a break!

    1. Unfortunately he’s another Busch….solid bat with no defensive position. Dodgers already know he isn’t an adequate infielder…..that’s where they tried him for years with no luck. Muncy showed incredible improvement this year, Vargas had ample time to show what he could do at 3b and 2b and it wasn’t pretty.

  2. I agree with Joe. Give me a bat. Give me a great defensive CF. Give me Robert Jr. His ceiling is an all star. Outman and Pages ceilings are average MLB. I’ll take the chance on his health and returning to form and if he does our October lineup would be fearsome! And Bear and I could put a side bet on that happening or not!

    1. You might take the chance because it is not your money. Robert Jr. has a ton of talent, is under team control, and can’t stay healthy. He also is not hitting. In his last 5 games, he has more strikeouts than hits, no homers, one double and one driven in. Now you please explain to me how that helps the Dodgers? Pages over the same time, has struck out once and also driven in one. The Dodgers are not going to overpay for any player. And the Sox are not just going to give the guy away. If it was just him, they would want at least four players in return, including at least 2 of your top 10 prospects, and remember, they do not want your garbage, so bottom feeders like Kike, Taylor, Biggio, Heyward, are not going to get it done. Now, you trade your top pieces for an injury prone player who is not producing. Who do you now have to trade for the pitching this team obviously needs? Only if he is packaged with someone like Fedde and DeJong, who at least brings some power to the infield, would I even consider trading for him. I doubt AF does that.

      1. Because he is an immense talent, an all star last year both offensively and defensively and if healthy could carry a team in October. Something Pages, Outman and Vargas can’t do

        1. I get it, I know all about his frippen talent. But he A. Does not have any postseason experience, and B, cannot stay on the damn field. Something Outman, Vargas and Pages can do. And AF is not going to overpay for a guy who cannot stay healthy no matter how damn good he is. One year out of five is not a good ratio. Those three you mentioned are costing less than he does combined. And combined, they are having a better year. If if if, I am so damn tired of if. WHAT IS HE DOING NOW??????? He is no superstar at this point. He is just another underperforming player. We have enough of that crapola on this team as it is. You guys need to get a grip on reality. Last year was last year, he is a shell of that player right now.

  3. The Dodgers wanting Vargas to play 3b means either.. 1) They really love his bat, and playing that position gets him more PA’s ..or.. 2) They’re really concerned about Muncy’s availability for the rest of this season ..or.. 3) Maybe it’s both.

    1. I think it is both.
And you do not have to play Vargas at 3b every game but only occasional, maybe once or twice a week when he is not playing LF. His defensive shortcomings at 3b would not be stressed that way. And you can replace him late in the game for defense purposes too. His bat will more than make up for possible defensive miscues.

      Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. More and more I am leaning towards Robert jun too. As Cassidy said I would take the risk with his injury history. Dodgers did it with Glasnow too. Risk /Reward is worth a flyer unless the WS ask for the moon eg 3 top 10 prospects.
I would give them Outman, Rushing plus Knack. They would get a MLB ready CF to replace Robert jun, our Nr. 1 hitting prospect at a premium position in C plus a pitcher who has already proven to be a capable Nr. 3 or Nr. 4 in a MLB rotation.
IMHO that would be already an overpay on our part given Robert jun. current production and injuriy history.

If they want to expand the trade I would be willing to include Wrobleski or Ryan plus Gelof plus Martin plus Hurt for Crochet.

    Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Two chances of that ever happening, slim and non-existent. Crochet? Tommy John waiting to happen, they want to include a pitcher, I take Fedde. They are going to ask for the moon. They already turned down a proposal for Crochet from the Dodgers. And there are more than a few teams out there seeking outfield help, so it is not like the Dodgers would be the only bidders. Look, I know the guy has a ton of talent, is injury prone, and is under team control. But he doesn’t fix the problems the team has by himself. He is not even playing all that well. You cannot build a team on maybes and what ifs. Maybe he starts hitting, what if he stays healthy, will the change of scenery inspire him. Too many question marks. And you might trade those kids, AF won’t.

  5. We could get Cody for a lesser package than we would have to give for Robert Jr.
Cody has already proven himself to be a clutch post season performer.

We won’t know what Andrew will do until he does it. I don’t think he knows at this point. What I do know is that Andrew Friedman will gather information and explore every opportunity to improve the team. What he ends up doing will depend on how things on other teams play out over the remainder of July.
I am confident that he will do something and am looking forward to seeing what that might be.

    1. I’d be shocked if Bellinger came back. Seems to me that both sides were glad to move on from each other. Also his post season OPS is .661 and BA is .211. Hardly otherworldly!

      1. As opposed to Joc’s post season OPS of .814. Speaking of Joc, wouldn’t mind having his .882 OPS in left field this year!

        1. And the only one to win an MVP award in the post season is Bellinger. How quickly one forgets. In 21, Cody was one of the few Dodgers who had a good series against the Braves, he also drove in the winning run in game 5 against the Giants, and he was MVP of the NLCS against the Brewers in 2018. Pederson couldn’t carry Cody’s glove. His defense was just as important as his bat. In 2020, his homer won the deciding game 7 against the Braves. Joc no longer plays the outfield because he is one of the worst defenders in the league. That is why he is Arizona’s DH.

  6. Dodger Territory with Alanna Rizzo and Clint Pasillas is excellent.

Should be a must listen for Dodger fans.

  7. Think about this when you want to include young pitchers in trades. Last year Kershaw led the team in starts with 24, followed by Bobby Miller with 23, Urias 21, Gonsolin 20, Grove 12, Syndergaard 12, Lynn 11 and Sheehan with 11. Miller has started this season pretty much on a regular basis. Grove started a couple of games. Not one other pitcher has thrown a pitch for the Dodgers this season. There are various reasons 4 of those pitchers are still in the organization and we hope get a number of starts before the season ends. Urias we all know about his situation and the other two are gone from the organization. When the old saying “you can’t have too much pitching” is as on the mark. You can go out and get a starter or three but you are walking a tightrope if you give up young pitching in those deals.
Go back to the 22 season the top five pitchers in starts, not one has thrown a pitch for the Dodgers this season. You can follow the other seasons and pretty much see the same thing.

  8. Love the prospect content, thanks.

I have Morales & J. Vargas as high-ceiling RH SS bats who both are likely to move to 3B.

Albertus & J. Perez are exciting future 2B options.

Hope & George potential CF & DePaula & Quintero RF.

Plus lots more on the horizon. C is covered for the next decade and we just need our SPs to stay healthy.

Freeland 100% looks like the SS of the future and 1B/DH has enough overflow with Rushing/Liranzo to be covered as well.

At what point do you give Rushing a LF glove? 😉

    1. Why LF? For a while I’ve wanted Rushing to get some training at 3B, a fairly common transition for catchers. He is much closer to The Show than Jeondry and Emil.
A lot of negative Dodger news today: Glasnow placed on the IL, Max’s recovery very slow, Bobby Miller roughed up…
No doubt that the Phillies are a VERY strong team, and also have competitive fire from guys like Harper and Realmuto. Are any of the Dodgers really the “fiery” type?

  9. I will be interesting to see what the Dodgers do moving forward at SS. I think they will give Willy Adames a strong look this off season.

    1. Adames will be 29 this winter. AF did trade for him when he was with Detroit. He was the return for David Price. AF has an affinity for Exe Rays players. He could get a six- or seven-year offer. He brings good defense, some slug, but his OPS leaves a lot to be desired. He strikes out way too much, his 162-game average is 179 K’s. His walk rate is really low. I still think Toronto will not trade Bichette now. His value is lower than normal, but if they want to trade him, they will do it this winter, and I could see AF going after him then. He is almost 3 years younger than Adames. Has similar power, but less defense. Adames’s postseason numbers are abysmal.

  10. I think the best senerio is Bellinger Hornier and a pitcher from the Cubs need someone who can play third and Hirniee can in case Muncy is done for the season then Betts comes back and play second byte yiu still need another infielder besides biggio hernandez and taylor . If Vargas was so good why did they get Biggio. Why is he still on the team. And they have Lipcicus in minors so cyt Bughio and bring Lipcicus up at third base until Muncy comes back.

    1. They got Biggio because he hits lefthanded. That is about the only good thing you can say about him right now. He obviously cannot hit like his dad did. Bellinger and Hoener make a lot of sense. Hoener can play third, but he mostly plays SS and second base. He only has 7 games in the majors as a third baseman. He does not hit for power though. 10 is his high-water mark. The Cubs have no starting pitchers that they would be willing to trade who would really help the staff. Steele and Imanaga, are their two best pitchers. Kendrick is 1-7 with an ERA north of 7. The one guy they might be willing to trade is James Taillon. He is 5-4 with a 2.99 ERA. The rest of their rotation are kids, or on the IL> Lipcius could be added to the 40-man, but at this point he is not on there. One other thing, Lipcius is not playing third, he is mostly playing first. Hoese is doing most of the work at third.

      1. Then bring up Hoese give him a chance before you move Vargas there. If you have nobody then trade for a third baseman the kid Hayes for the Pirates he had a good year last year pirates are trying to build and they have young players.

        1. Bradley, the idea is good. I understand that, but teams are not going to trade their good young players like Hayes when they recently signed him to a long-term very team friendly contract. He is only hitting .233 with 4 homers. Hoese could easily be added to the 40-man roster. But if the Dodger brass felt he was their best option, he would already be there. The thing is, they are waiting on Max. He probably will not be ready until August. But he has one more year on his contract, they know what he brings to the table, and they are more than willing to just tread water at third until he returns. They could probably get a cheaper more experienced third baseman somewhere else. Teams do not just trade their young stars away. That is why you won’t see KC trading Witt, or Baltimore trading Henderson. AF is not going to overpay for talent. To get some of the guys who have been mentioned on this site and others, the Dodgers would have to pay a lot in talent. And you cannot just snap your fingers and make the underperforming players like Kike, Taylor, Barnes, Lux et al disappear. I know the Dodgers have a lot of resources both in financial and player assets. But they are not just going to give up a bunch of that for one player unless that player was a franchise changing player. And they definitely would not do that for a rental. Your ideas for trades are good, just unrealistic in some cases, not all.

          1. Then get Rameriz from the Guardians in the off season and sign Addames so your left side of the infield will be set and right side with Betts and Freeman trade Muncy in the off-season he is to injury prone and made to be a first base man some where. Who could use a first baseman and pitching that has a good third baseman. A bat like his and pitching we have should get the Dodgers a thirdbaseman I know one team that would love Muncy the Rockies and they have a good third baseman and pitching. But Bea says no way will they trade McMahon. If you need pitching the dodgers have that the rockies dont ayoung guys and Muncy znd Buehler because he will be a free agent for say McMahon and one of there starters like a Kyle Freeland I think the Rockies might do it. Just to bad they wouldn’t give up there catcher Diaz he be a good backup to Smith. There’s a realistic trade Bear.

          2. Guardians are not going to trade Ramirez. I explained to you before that he has a multi-year deal for about 88 million left on it for the next four years. The Guardians are perennial contenders in their division, and he is their biggest star player. Unless they went into a rebuild mode, that is not happening. They have a solid core and no other replacement at third. The Rockies are not trading McMahon. The owner will not allow it. And they especially are not trading their best player to the Dodgers. Buehler is on the IL and a free agent who hasn’t pitched well so far. Why would the Rockies even want him? That trade idea is not realistic. Muncy is on the IL too. McMahon is a better hitter than Muncy is at this point. As for Freeland, he just came off of the IL< has a 0-3 record with an ERA over 6. Muncy is not what you would call injury prone. He has had some issues the last couple of years, but he still hits 30 homers plus a year. Trust me. the Rockies do not want, nor do they need Max. Why?? Because they want youth, not veterans. Diaz and Blackmon and Stallings are all over 30. McMahon is 29. I live here, so I know what the ownership in Colorado is like. And it is not because I say it will not work, it is because that is what the owner has said. Like Moreno, he is not trading with the Dodgers. Because they are a division rival and the two teams have not swapped front line players since 2007. The Rockies have no intention of sending any player to LA who is a star. I could see them going after Adames in the offseason. I explained all of this to you before, you don't believe it. That is okay, but I am just telling you how it is. None of those trades will happen.

          1. Well at least I am accomplishing something, even if it is only to make guys laugh. After tonight’s game, I need a drink. The only team they lost ground to was the Giants, who are now tied with Arizona 10 games back.

  12. The Dodgers are placing right-hander Tyler Glasnow on the injured list, with Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic relaying word from manager Dave Roberts on X. The right-hander’s back tightened up on him on Sunday. Per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times on X, the team is hoping it’s a minor issue and that Glasnow could be back shortly after the All-Star break.

    1. This is a way to limit Glasnow’s innings,he doesn’t have to pitch in a waste of time All Star game and maybe Gavin Stone will replace him on the All Star roster, which he deserves.

  13. 07/09/24 Los Angeles Dodgers recalled RHP Michael Petersen from Oklahoma City Baseball Club.

    1. Agree this is a strategic “phantom injury” to get Glasnow some rest. Good move if we do well against the Phillies and Tigers. If we go 1-5, not so much

      1. Maybe … but maybe not.
Are we saying that Glasnow couldn’t possibly hurt his back?

  14. Seems to me like the pitching coach and the infielders are scared to go talk to the pitcher when he’s in trouble.

  15. Miller is nothing more than a AAA pitcher masquerading as a big league pitcher. Not saying he can’t get there but he’s not there yet. Allowing two runs to score with two outs to the the #7, 8 and 9 hitters is a recipe for disaster. AF has to get SP ASAP.

    1. His release point is all over the place:

#1 – You have no idea where the pitch is going; and
      #2 – You lose velocity.

      It’s 50% 90% mental.

  16. A complete ass kicking.

    1. Miller has to be sent down. Can’t find your release point in the big leagues. I mentioned two weeks ago he should be sent out and I’m even more convinced now. Dude is a “head case.”

    2. DFA Biggio. Not a big league bat and now the entire jury can see not a big league glove either.

    1. Since you know he is a head case, maybe they should trade him for a bag of baseballs.

I think teams would line up to get a crack.

      Speaking of crack….

  17. Miller what has happened to him.He looked like he was a can’t miss. Our pitching staff looks like we’re cursed with injuries.

    1. The key word is, “Don’t Panic.”

Bobby is totally out of sync… he needs a reset.

      1. It’s not panic. It’s depression. Miller is not a big league pitcher right now. He needs to work in the minors until he fixes his problems. He’s a guaranteed loss every 5th day. Buehler is only slightly better.

  18. I believe that Miller is still injured. He has lost 3-4 MPH off his fastball can’t locate any of his secondary stuff. It’s like when Gonsolin was pitching with a season-ending injury last year. I can’t believe that they keep running him out there.

  19. I know that Zach Wheeler is one of the best pitchers in MLB, but no one but the top 3-4 guys hit consistently. Mookie and Max coming back will help, but they have way too many guys who just can’t hit.
A team like the Dodgers can’t do better than Kike, Taylor, Lux, Biggio, et al? How many utility players does one team need?

  20. Too many injuries to key players and a flawed roster. Not a 100 win team this season. AF and BG have 21 days to figure it out or it will be an early exit for the 3rd year in a row in the post season after spending 1.3 billion dollars. Sad!!

    1. If they miss, it will be mostly because of injuries to key players. Your two aces out, your SS and third baseman out for a long stretch. Bullpen arms missing, Three of your best pitchers also on the IL. Doesn’t make for a championship season no matter how much you spend. Ohtani, Freeman, Smith, Hernandez and Rojas, the only players earning their keep. Vargas and Pages are kids learning on the fly. You basically have no production from the players on your bench. I doubt you can fix the team at the deadline when you are down your four best pitchers. Buehler, Kershaw, Glasnow and Yamamoto.

  21. Yawn! I have seen this movie too many times, and most of you have no clue.

    Sorry!

  22. Hard to draw many conclusions from this game. Phillies are a better team right now and have lined up their three best starters to face Miller, Stone, and Knack.
Aside from Miller getting raked, … again, the Dodger at bats in the fifth and sixth innings with first two runners getting on was the worst. Four strike outs.
They have some holes but not as bad as this game would indicate. Does not get easier tomorrow with Ranger Suarez pitching. It will be interesting to see how they respond.

    1. FYI…Cristopher Sanchez is scheduled for tomorrow not Suarez. Nola on Thursday.

  23. What a joy it is watching an organization that has a top GM and a very well respected mgr.

Add to that a team that plays with passion every night, and shows solid baseball fundamentals.

    Now let’s talk about
    The Dodgers

All the teams know the Dodgers will be hard-up for bats and pitching in the next 3 weeks.

You want to talk about the Dodgers being in a terrible negotiating position. Wow

Maybe it’s better to work with what you got and what you may get back this year from injury.

Maybe move some bench tomato cans for a few better tomato cans.

Just don’t overpay and gut the minors. All the clubs the Dodgers deal with knowing the position they’re in will ask for the moon. If so walk away.

In the off – season some tough decisions will need to be made .

That can be a discussion after the season.

Let’s look at what type of character , fight and ultimately skill our current group and IR returnees demonstrate .
Let’s see how far we can go this year. It should still be a competitive team.

    Go Dodgers !!

      1. Now Mark

        That wasn’t
        very nice.

If you have a problem with a comment that was made in regards to the team, their play or their next steps then discuss your concerns like a man.

Name calling is for little boys

        1. I think you are pretty close to being right on the money. They are in a bad negotiating position. I also think they have enough talent on the IL to turn things around. This is one reason I believe they will target at least one starting pitcher, say Fedde, and some bench help rather than a big-name star.

  24. Tonight we celebrated my Dad’s 95 birthday. For year now my brothers and sisters take turns sitting with him. I’ve learned so much about him it gives me chills. Dad is a very humble man, he was signed by a Dodger scout named Burt Wells. He played in the organization for three years but he had his third kid coming and he needed to get a real job. His mother kept a lot of his box scores. One time I came home and there were a few laying on the table which never happened. I looked and saw a SS named Mantle against one of the teams he was playing against. I asked day if that was Mantle’s brother or relation, nope that was Mickey Mantle. I was numb. I asked Dad if it was evident that Mantle was going to turn out like he did. Dad said the only thing I remember about Mantle is he played short and when the ball was hit to him the people behind first base were real nervous. I found a box score of an all star game with all stars from teams playing against the Yankees. Dad was the MVP of that game. Later on I was snooping around and found a watch and asked Dad what it was all about. He told me to look at the back of the watch, he was MVP of his team that season and got a watch. I was in a book store and came across the book Mantle before the glory. It talked about an all star game that Mantle had four errors at short. The Yankee brass was there according to the article and decided to move him to center field and succeed Joe Dimago (sp). I called Dad and said did you play in such and such all star game? He said yep had. a decent game. I told him what I found in the book and he said Mantle had a rough day. That is the game Dad was the MVP. He made off with an original Brooklyn Dodger uniform which I have after many fights. Now when I open my three hours with Dad, most of it was about Vero Beach and the minors and all that stuff. Burt Wells nephew Johnny Keenan replaced Burt Wells and signed among others Mitch Webster. Keenan nephew is a buddy of mine and of Websters said that Wells talked about Dad a lot and Johnny Keenan knew all about Dad. Sorry about the long post. It is easy to see why I’m a life long Dodger fan. And pissed I never heard any of Dad’s stories until he was 95.

    1. That is awesome John. My Jr. High home room teacher played in the Red Sox system after WWII. He used to tell me about being in spring training with guys like Johnny Pesky, Ted Williams, Bobby Doerr, Rudy York and Dom DiMaggio. He knew he could not beat out a guy like York, who played 1st base, so he went back to college and got his teaching degree. When I was living in Highland Park, the two Sherry brothers bought houses on my block. Before they would leave for Vero Beach, us kids would shag balls for them at Arroyo Seco Park. Having experiences like that bring you closer to the game. That it is your dad, makes it all that more special.

  25. One more story then I’ll stop. The bat boy brought dad a ball and asked him to sign because he was the boys favorite player. Dad told him to wait and when in the clubhouse and got his first base glove. About 10-15 years ago dad got a call and the guy asked dad if he was the guy who played baseball with the dodgers affiliate? When Fad confirmed it the guy said that I’ll bet you have some grandkids that would like the mitt. The former bat boy mailed it to dad, another huge fight, this one I lost.

    1. Tommy Davis signed my first baseman’s mitt many years ago. I wish I still had it.

  26. The Dodgers have apparently upped their offer to the Sox for Crochet. This story was on Dodgers SI. Sports Illustrated. Just who or how many was not in the article which was posted on Google News.

    1. Interesting.
I think we were all counting on Bobby Miller to be good, but….
We can hope that Glasnow’s injury is make-believe, but we don’t know that. When will Yamamoto be back? Will Buehler get fixed? Will Kershaw be OK?
I wonder if the Sox are insisting on the trade packabe to include a lefty in return, like Wrobleski or Ferris
And of course I wonder if the Dodgers are also asking about Robert and DeJong…

      1. I’m not counting on Buehler, let’s hope Glasnow’s injury is “make-believe,” and Yamamoto is my biggest worry because I think his injury was real and serious.

  27. Good God, still dealing with the Fire Roberts idiots on the Spectrum site. Doc had no choice , Miller didn’t have it , but he had to ride him as far as he could to save the bullpen for the next two games , totally get it. I am so OVER the new breed Dodger fans who judge and throw toxic shit game by game, win or lose. Uncle Ned Colleti always preaches ,, baseball is a Season, so many twists and turns, and you have to adapt and make the right moves to be there in October. This whole win now , and we totally suck because we lost a 3 game series attitude is gettin old real fast. Fing uneducated idiots. Am I the only one who is playing the looong game into October? Roster will be so much different by then .. Everybody just take a damn Xanex and chill.

    1. If you are so mad at the “Fire Roberts crowd” on the Spectrum site why do you read it ?

And you are sure the roster will look that much different come October ? Not so sure.

      Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!

    2. Agree 100% we’ved played great against the best teams all year. This is just a bad time to be playing the Phils.

That said I expect Stone to do much better than Miller last night.

Nothing nice about Philly in July….
